We don't necessarily want to need to force older people to know or embrace bitcoin. In the same way no one advertised internet in the early 90.
Bitcoin will promote itself when people realize that this is game changing invention. Same with age of bitcoin users - bitcoin adoption it will gradually spread over all group ages.
Current twenty or thirty years old bitcoin users will grow older faster than you realize.

Really nice prank  Grin
Actually that grandma's and his supposed granddaughter's face was blurred in video don't know why they have done it. Could that be request by grandma not to show her face or either channel have done that by themselves. It seems grandma loves privacy.. Wink

Of course she does that is why she knows about bitcoin lol.
Anyway very nice video as this is not bitcoin related but get bitcoin mentioned in it will certainly help spread the word more than purly bitcoin or crypto related videos

Yeah, it's cool she knows about Bitcoin. Although it's hard to see her face to tell how old she exactly is on this video. And maybe that's the only thing she knows about btc that it's untraceable, you know. And btc is sort of mysterious for her, because she remembered it when saw this guy paying with an apple and being surprised. So, btc is something like this apple to her, I suppose.

It is nice to see the older people getting involved with Bitcoin. I think someone must make a video where the Grandma is explaining Bitcoin to the Teenager. Now, that would be funny, because it is always the other way around. Come to think of this, I am the oldest in my family and I have to explain this to the younger bunch. ^smile^

I find that it is easier to explain the concept, if I use the mobile Apps. The younger kids are on their phones for most of the day, so they get the concept quicker, if you use the mobile phone as the wallet.

Its nice that elder knew bitcoin, noe that they stay only at home it can be a new hobby and a sort of income to them. Will try to convince my older relatives to try it than to waste their time watching tv at home. Sure theyll be fond on it knowing they can earn still.
Agree with you its really nice to hear of this kind of stories which elderlies do have still interest on these stuffs like on bitcoin. I would tell you about your motives on telling your older relatives regarding bitcoin, it might work or not anytime because it really depends on their interest. If they do have awareness on internet stuff then theyll surely cope up and understand you easily but if none the dont bother to proceed.

Grandma knows about bitcoin? I don't think so. Why? Because my grandparents are already died, and sad to say, they don't have the opportunity to know about technology, they don't know how to use phones, if there is an internet they don't know whats the use of it and also about bitcoin. They dont have computers or cellphones to use because they born in the old generation haha so my grandma didn't know about the use and the benefits of bitcoin  Grin

I don't know how Grandma knows about bitcoin, but I'm guessing she has grandchildren or her own children that is into Bitcoin and told her about it and entertained her the possibilities that can be done with Bitcoin. Maybe she has her own group of grandmas/grandpas that are into bitcoin, we will never know. A grandma who surfs the internet and tries opportunities I guess.

What do you think Grandma was going to say when she said: "That's where I'm"? I don't know if she said that's how she is going to pay, we won't really know.

She talks about bitcoin not in the way that she knows about it, but in a way of disgust at how fast the world is changing. I can't wrap my head around fully deciding whether that's good or bad.
i suppose the the fast growing of technology is having both good and bad side. i'd agree that this grandma talking about bitcoin that way, being surprised
by another advanced technology which could replace paper money at the first place. not a surprising reaction

The world today as we have it is a global village and anyone can know something about everything all you need is the willingness and ability to surf the internet. But I want to believe that is coming from one of the advance countries because here, with the problems we are facing, even the youths have not gotten enough awareness not to talk of the past generation...

There's no age specification here, even old people can know about bitcoin as it's open in the internet. It actually depends on a certain person if he is good in research and I believe with our supporters who continues to promote online, one can easily notice bitcoin.

Lol.. Such a funny prank. And it's nice to know that even older people knows about bitcoin. And they also share the knowledge about bitcoin to others like what Grandma did in this video. By the way, watching this video gives me an idea about a bitcoin payment gadget that can be used in paying on counters like that apple in the prank. But I don't have the idea on how to make that kind of gadget work. LOl. Since I'm not an expert in making gadgets. But I'm looking forward of having that kind of bitcoin gadget in the future.  Cheesy

When I saw this video few days after it was uploaded on YT I was thinking that a good amount of people in U.S know about bitcoin.
I think it is more popular than in any country in the world (except china), it's good that people are aware for bitcoin but it's not completed untraceable.

"Knowing about Bitcoin" could be a bit misleading in this case. "Having heard about Bitcoin" (in the mainstream press) would be a better way to describe the phenomenon. Bitcoin has been featured by the mainstream media various times - so a lot of people will have noticed that it exists. However, given the often grossly false and even adverse portrayal of the currency by uninformed and government-loving journalists only few will have formed an accurate impression of Bitcoin. And much less of these people will have actively researched the topic or are actual Bitcoin users.

What the Grandma says about Bitcoin indicates that she holds some simplistic assumptions about BTC that are not even true. Bitcoin is untraceable only with significant effort.

All my GRADMAS is dead and buried, and they wouldn't of known bitcoin from Adam.  They would not of known how to type the word bitcoin onto a computer, even tho they lived through the computer revolution and the internet one too.  Nowadays I don't think no one other than engineers and extreme nerds, and the criminals, know about bitcoin.  All the scammers do, but my GRADMAS weren't those.

Nice one grandma. Show them that bitcoin and new technologies are not only for the young ones, but can also be used by older people.
