One option to watch it for those who lack a vpn, is perhaps to use Opera browser just for the viewing. You can set the "free vpn" (*) on the browser to "Europe", which should do the trick and allow you to watch the six-part bitcoin documentary. I saw the documentary back in November, buy just tried to do so using Opera and it seems to work fine for that porpose.

(*) Opera is not really a vpn, but rather a proxy, and does not replace a vpn.

@DdmrDdmr
thanks for the good advice ... hopefully now also the 'blocked' users can watch the great documentary series Smiley

Ok, tell me why would someone "Block" certain countries from watching a documentary series? Bitcoin was started by Satoshi Nakamoto to enable financial FREEDOM and not to "block" certain countries from using it. Bitcoin is border-less and it is one of the pillars of the Bitcoin community.

In any way... I think it is stupid to put barriers for information sharing... because there are tons of content on the Internet about Bitcoin, so you not going to "block" certain countries from getting to it.  Roll Eyes

Thanks for sharing, I'd love to watch it (always looking for new documentaries, especially those about crypto), but can't. I'm here in the US and get the same error as @Fesatmas - This video cannot be viewed from your current location.

Oh well..

I've been trying to find a documentary that will actually cover the whole Bitcoin and history of it in general because I've seen a lot of content creators trying on YouTube but failing to cover some important keypoints, this is definitely helpful but the downside is its availability, I guess switching onto another platform would be nice, since it's free to watch, why not just upload the video on YouTube? I would like to watch this 6-part documentary and see for myself what others has to say about it here on this thread.
This won't be possible because of the copyright. it would be available only for those who will get the permission to diffuse it. All the new produced films will not be available for public (for free).
In the meantime , it's just a matter of time, you have to wait a certain time until you will can find it translated in your local language for free in streaming platforms. Reaching youtube is not that mandatory in the case of new interested concept .

Very easy to watch conceptually, and of all the six parts, whist being a collateral derivate to all this, the first two thirds of the sixth episode are what, knowing as we may, should be very wary of as a society which has, willingly and for the sake of vanity, lost a large part of privacy and eased the path to that being a commodity lease on our behalf.

About 65% is in rather decent and comprehensible French (for those with notions) and 35% in English. Subs are fitting, whilst not being an exact direct transcript of the dialogues.

I really liked the Satoshi type back narrator and the comments he made throughout, rather in tone with what one would expect of the character or a spokesman for the group (whichever suits reality).

Not working for me as well.
But unlike others who gave up on this, I'll be bookmarking this entire documentary link by link and watch it via Tor (I don't use it at present). Thank you cygan for those links, I am very much interested in all these, if you can find more stuff like these, please share them here as I want to see btc's use in movies, documentaries, major news articles, adverts, everywhere.  Grin

These play fine for me.
Will watch these later tonight and looking forward to this new series. I love that
these are broken into "chapters" as such and can be watched seperately.
Thanks for posting cygan

There is never a documentary of Bitcoin that Lazlo Pizza and Silkroad isn't featured and they are also here. This is a great documentary. Parts of it discussed threads in the bitcointalk forum thread like satoshi's post, particularly in the Bitcoin War Begins. In the 3rd part, I believe is where Zimmermann really said, Wright is not Satoshi and he had not proved it with a sign message.

Just sort of things that I'd just want people to know if you aren't able to access. But yep installing TOR or using VPN will make you see them.

I didn't watch it and I never heard about this documentary but it sounds interesting, however I have my reservations about objectivity because Arte.tv was co-funded by the European Union.
Second thing is that I don't understand French very well so I will have to use English subtitles, but I will try to watch one episode this weekend.
Full video is also available on youtube but only in French language without subtitles and some countries may still be blocked:

This is a great docu-series. Also, content creators like Cold Fusion and Lex Friedman do their own to promote not just BTC but crypto in general with mini docus and lengthy podcasts. These types of education are really important because people tend to gravitate towards shorter video content (as of lately) than reading economics-based books. But as always, not everyone that has a video about BTC is good content so there needs to be some quality control done on the viewer's part.

✂It's not currently available on where I live it says "This video cannot be viewed from your current location", that's just sad but I guess I'll try it with a VPN later on.

But in fact, it's a shame that I'm very interested in watching it without the need to use a VPN.

ohh, sorry that not everyone in this world can access this documentary series. would not have thought that arte.tv has its 'blockades' Roll Eyes Undecided
then only the tor-browser helps for the time being...

Thanks for the information, I'd love to spend some time watching some of the snippets from your list. I'll be back in the comments when I've watched all of them. Hopefully I can access it without any state restrictions. For Part 1 I'm quite curious about the opening because a serial opening is the most important thing.

But in fact, it's a shame that I'm very interested in watching it without the need to use a VPN.

No God or Kings, only BITCOIN.
Well, thanks for this cygan this will be helpful in the future for those who really wanted to know more about Bitcoin, Satoshi and many more. It's not currently available on where I live it says "This video cannot be viewed from your current location", that's just sad but I guess I'll try it with a VPN later on.

today i came across a very interesting and factual documentary series about bitcoin on the french channel arte.
this series includes 6 very well done documentaries in which also some well known personalities have their say like e.g. Dan Held or Andreas Antonopoulos.
this series is really interesting and i recommend everyone (no matter if newbie or legendary) to watch it (length 10-15min per episode)
enjoy it! Smiley

part 1: The Mystery of Satoshi - The Genesis of Bitcoin
part 2: The Mystery of Satoshi - The Bitcoin War Begins
part 3: The Mystery of Satoshi - The Impenetrable Fortress of Bitcoin
part 4: The Mystery of Satoshi - Money, Money, Money
part 5: The Mystery of Satoshi - David and Goliath
part 6: The Mystery of Satoshi - The End of an Empire?

this great documentary series about BTC is also available in 5 other languages (french, spanish, german, polish and italian)

For those who can't watch the videos, I've uploaded them here: https://mega.nz/folder/PmJQGLrB#NegfRAO3bfe9Cjm9I0ltzw

It can be seen on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ETcLj5jBy4

It's by default with French subtitles, but if you play with the settings (gearwheel icon) you can select that the subtitles get auto-translated on the fly into English or the language of choice. It's clearly not optimal, but it can be a solution.
