To be fair, it's not only gambling houses that capitalize on greed, it's just that it's much more obvious that casinos use greed as a factor to influence people to pay them more. We agree, that greed is a disease that lurks within all human beings. some are able to control it well, and try to divert it to other things. some of us, it's hard to control it. and this, is something that is in man. in the case of gambling, greed is something that is hard for us to define. Employing strategies can actually make things worst, to be honest. One might have lost a small portion of their bankroll initially, but after employing a strategy, they will lose a bigger chunk of it or maybe the whole bankroll because we know strategies don't work in gambling and they only make you lose more money in the long run. Well, it's normal if gamblers who have won still want other wins, but it depends on how we can control that greed so it doesn't dominate us. Especially if we already know the consequences of letting greed rule us. We want to prevent it from happening to us and not have such an experience.

And if we can win, we should be able to use the money well and maybe preparing for our future and that of our family is the next goal in using that money. Only then can we think about what we do with the other money so that later we can get a good idea of what the money is being used for. And investing or starting a business is a great way to try because it can pay off in the future. So, preventing greed allows us to use the winning money well and not just use it again for gambling.

It's so sad that you experienced a huge loss due to greed, as many gamblers nowadays are driven by greed to make a lot of money through gambling. Even when they make decent bets and win they often use their winnings to gamble more dreaming of becoming millionaires through gambling which is really sad to hear to be honest. I think it's curious gamblers who act like this. The expected behavior would be that the next thought right after winning big would consist on how to spend or invest the prize, outside the gambling activity, of course. After all, people must have dreams and goals they want to achieve with big sums of money, instead of spending everything gambling without having any plans for the money in the end, and once they earn it through gambling, it's finally their chance to execute it for real.

I have no definite example for it but the majority of the big wins in a lottery I think is just pure luck and often times its a fortune they never could imagine. But the bets on sports betting I think are not pure luck but a combination of luck, greed, and skills.
