I'm guilty of buying some myself. LOL. GRC is currently very very undervalued. I mean, seriously. Look at the tech we have in the coin. It's definitely worth a lot more than what it is now. And the new features we are testing in testnet, would bring even more value to GRC. And Rob's new idea blew my mind. In coin options exchange.

I think having the ability in the coin to buy a Put would be pretty huge; and if we did this in a decentralized way, even bigger.

Agree with you.. Gridcoin is extremly undervalued especially when seeing the tech. There are currently higher market cap coins do not deserve that position. I'm in the Gridcoin project now almost 2 years and non exchange prices were at that time about 900-1000 satoshi if i transfer it to the current coin supply.

However we had those prices even with much less features and tech and community so everyone can imagine what Gridcoin should be actually worth now with existing real world adoption, tech and outstanding community. 2000 - 3000 satoshi is the price investors should focus and expect in the long term.  To be honest i haven't seen a better, real world adopted coin out there apart from Bitcoin itself.

Sounds like i am promoting something, however i just mention pure facts!

Actually I did not fully understand this new idea(s). Will we have an actual exchange in the client? Or will it be optional? Will we be a competitor to our partner-exchanges or do we just provide additional possibilities which they do not provide?

But apart from the things I don't understand, I truly believe we are just at the beginning of the rising GRC price. Just think about the basic principle of Gridcoin: using a kind of PoW in combination with PoS for something good, for science. No other coin can do that. Okay there are/were some but they were only focusing on one project like folding coin, right? We have the full variety of BOINC at our disposal. Actually I am proud to earn a crypto-currency due to cancer research or CERN stuff for example.

It will compliment the exchanges and not in competition. It's more like a platform to buy and sell options.

There are many things I do not understand either. You are not alone Cheesy And yes, I'm proud to be "mining" GRC for I know, for every GRC I generate, research is being done that will propel the humankind forward. Be it the protein folding research done by Rosetta, or clean water by World Community Grid, every work unit your computer computes and send back to the projects, gets us closer.

The low volume is due to the fact that there are not many places to spend GRC, so most people just hoard it. Other than 1 gambling site (crypto-games), there isn't much to do with your newly minted grc. That is what we need to work on! I would say that is where the majority of the foundation funds should be spent on.

Hmm true, we have to work on many things. But with a higher marketcap more peple will get interested and so will be online shops. Therefore we need to get more people investing in Gridcoin.

Quez,

Something seems to be brewing. I can't really put a finger to it but past weeks have seen some big volume at CCEX and Trex.

GRC are changing hands, that's for certain...

I know. I just wonder who sold nearly 30 BTC of GRC in this small timeframe when we had >30 BTC volume. But for 600 Satoshis I would have sold a bit, too Smiley
Probably one big investor bought for the 600 sats.

I think we should be doing more voting here: http://panelpicker.sxsw.com/vote/55483

Yes... WCG should be voted in, but WCG is not going to mention Gridcoin. Unless you mean we should be posting comments.

Not trying to be a dick but...

Even if you make a few hundred post, activity won't really move. It's a combination of post plus.. days of being active (reading?) here. The info can be found somewhere.. but.. can't remember where. LOL

Gridcoin Research 3.4.7.8/MSI=28.6
Leisure Upgrade
(Mandatory for TestNet)

- Added beacon sponsorship system: execute advertisebeacon neural
Will send a beacon through the neural network, another host will sponsor the CPID and send the beacon (allowing users with 0 grc to enter the NN)
- Added 'list staking' staking report.  This will explain in detail what coins are eligibile for staking by the stakeminer.  The first phase of the report shows coins with enough age to stake.
The second phase of the report shows coins the stakeminer will pick up for staking.  It also shows the stakeable balance.
- Finally found the root cause of some nodes not staking regularly (probing coin age constantly).  The problem was some coin wallet tx totaling zero were taking precedence in stake miner - ie hogging
up the position of Highest priority to stake, because they were the oldest, but worth the least.  Stakeminer cant stake unless it finds more than 0 coins in a set.  Fixed.
- Fixed crash (segfault) affecting either syncing from zero, or certain reorgs in the coin.
- Added all CPID interest to lifetime interest field (list rsa) Lifetime Interest (not just POR block interest).
- Fixed POR indicator in tx list (showing certain POR as Interest only)

Gridcoin Research 3.4.7.7/MSI=28.5
Leisure Upgrade
(Mandatory for TestNet)

- Fixed mintlimiter rule in TestNet keeping nodes from staking
- Added MiningErrors8 to getmininginfo and to overview.  If you are probing coin age for more than 10 minutes, this field will show what is going on in the stakeminer.
If it says, Kernel Found 0: that means coin age is not mature enough.  After approx 5 mins, Kernel Found should increase to a portion of the coins in the Stake bucket.  Once that happens the node will
stake as soon as it passes the mintlimiter threshhold for the diff level.  Tested in testnet successfully (we should see more staking).
- Added Lifetime Average Magnitude to list rsa.  This will be valuable to see the long term payments per day per magnitude in the future.

Gridcoin Research 3.4.7.6/MSI=28.4
Leisure Upgrade
(Mandatory for TestNet)

- Fixed issue where client was constantly probing coin age.
- Added LastPORBlockHash to showblock. (Note: this will only populate going forward, after 8-13-2015).
- Fixed historical calculation problem in list rsa Lifetime Research payments field.
- Removed unecessary logging with fDebug=true on.
- Added Earliest Payment field to list rsa (Note: The earliest possible payment date is the day we switched to the new block index - around July 4th 2015, so payments before that date
are not counted in Lifetime payments nor earliest age).
- Added Tx Count to list rsa to make it easier to reconcile list lifetime
