No_2, can I get an express denial of my final offer* please.

*Only buyers aware.

So I have a firm offer for a larger amount from a contact I have dealt with before, so I'm going ahead with that. It has all been agreed, just sorting collection times etc.

If it falls through I will post back to this forum and re-open discussions.

Many thanks everyone for your interest.

The PDFs in the .zip have been edited so have lost the signature info. If serious buyers want to send me their email address in a PM then I can send them copies of the signed PDFs.

So if Zepher and you (No_2) do end up reaching a deal, I'm assuming you would be willing to give everyone in the group the actual signed PDFs?  And even so, will it not even matter if Mike hasn't kept up with his yearly dues?

Yes, absolutely, the buyer gets a copy of the PDF with the signature. They'll need this to prove authenticity down the line.

Thanks for all your help here, No_2, with how Adobe Keys work.

To everyone involved - we have reached our upper limit for this lot, and have been privately outbid. PM me for further details (buyers ONLY - any other PM's will be ignored).

I apologise, but at this time, it appears that we are going to have to pull out from this deal. Sad *

Regards,

Zepher

* I will update this if anything changes, as far as I am concerned, our top bid is still valid (But below another users bid), and something may change.

Thanks

FWIW, I checked both of the PDF's and neither appear to have any digital signage - it looks like they were created with another app, and the date is like 5/22/2018..

Ofc, this doesn't mean anything, the info could have been lost on a copy paste depending what app was used. I'm assuming that No_2 has a Mac, or had one at some point...

Anyhow, I used two different computers / versions of Adobe acrobat and I don't see any sigs of any kinds on either. Then again, I'm no expert at this stuff, but I have used it before.

Hey I forgot to thank you earlier for the link... tried it and still got no where with it.  I'm assuming this has to do with this fact:

So from what I understand of the Adobe keys; they are issued by Adobe and can only be verified on Adobe PDF readers. If you use a 3rd party PDF reader then it will not read the signature and just show you the scan.

Different versions of acrobat show the signature in different ways. Some times you'll have to check via a menu option, other times it slaps a dialog box over the top of the image of the PDF.

The PDFs in the .zip have been edited so have lost the signature info. If serious buyers want to send me their email address in a PM then I can send them copies of the signed PDFs.

Mike Caldwell's key he used to sign it was from his swipe clock business [EDIT: the early PDFs were signed with his swipe clock Adobe Key, later versions of the certificates, and the ones for these coins, were signed with a casascius key he purchased specially for the coins], and also shows his name. Each key has to be purchased from Adobe with proof of ID etc and is only valid for a year at a time, so an expensive and arguably secure process.

I also asked Noah at Lealana to do the same for his coins, I understand he offered scanned signed PDF's a few buyers aside of myself in his first year of opperation.

Owlcatz, thanks for your help here. I will personally check them to see if I can verify anything. In any case, if this lot is purchased, No_2 will obviously explain to me how it works.

On that note, our initial offer has been declined (as of yesterday morning). I have sent a further "Final Offer" for the lot which should hopefully secure it, or sadly I will be pulling out of this sale - which I really don't want to do.

Prices offered and the accepted price (if it happens) will be revealed to the people involved ONLY once I have had another response from No_2.

Thanks,

Z

Ok, so I've briefly looked up adobe key verifications and am still confused about somethings... mostly because they are referring to windows OS's and the fact that there seems to be a variety of ways of doing these sorts of things.

For one thing where do we get Mike's public key information through Adobe?  Secondly I'm on Linux, and when I look for attachments included in the PDF, it's grayed out and so I would assume either there are no attachments with his signature, or I might not have the right software for opening the attachments.

These are questions I personally cannot answer at this moment in time. I do know however that No_2 has been around a long time, and this sale is 100% legit. I am hoping someone else can explain how Adobe signatures work for us.

Then I don't know if the writing up in the top left is what you use to verify things as well... sometimes I've seen in tutorials that people actually sign things and include it in the pdf.  Soo... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For those that didn't download the zip due to it's size, here's the pdf certificate for the 1 BTC coins (sorry for the really big picture):

I'm not questioning whether this is legit or not, I'm just curious to know how adobe signatures work and how I could be able to prove the signature to someone else if need be.

I am sure we will have answers to these questions very soon. Btw thank you for uploading that magnificent scan. Smiley

The moment I have anything to share, everyone involved will be the first to know.

I have gone through roughly ~10 of the coins in the zip file No_2 uploaded, and every single coin is immaculate. You are more than welcome to download the zip yourself to view every single photo yourself.

Each coin has 6 photographs that each buyer will receive for each coin purchased!! Multiply that by 45 coins and I have 270 photo's here, all of which are such high resolution they are taking up half a GB of space on my hard drive Shocked Crikey. Will be deleting all the coins that are not mine once this is sorted...damn!

I am only uploading this picture for now, chosen at random, as an example of quality that you are guaranteed to receive:

From The Casascius Uberbills Analyzer - for this specific coin. Click for all the info you need.

Coin was funded in the very last batch on January 8th 2014. This is the case on all ~10 coins I have checked. Some have received dust payments from addresses like 1Sochi (Sochi Olympics in 2014 I am assuming?) and others, but that does not harm the coin's value in any way whatsoever.

Balance on this specific Casascius 2013 Brass 1 BTC Coin: Exactly 1 Bitcoin - Full BTC Address for this Coin: 13MkUQzFZSfnpQvZyB4GD9vvFqc8vvT72U

Ticked - 1 x 0.5 BTC*
Anonymous - 19 x 1 BTC*
Zepher - 5 x 0.5 BTC.*
Lesbian Cow - 5 x 1 BTC, 5 x 0.5 BTC.*
minerjones - 5 x 0.5 BTC*
BitMiner713 - 2 x 0.5 BTC*
krogothmanhattan - 1 x 0.5 BTC*
AT101ET - 1 x 0.5 BTC*
phishhead - 1 x 1 BTC*

* - These are all on the basis that we come to an agreement on price everyone is happy with.

This is the final count for the coins, and amounts allocated to each person etc. I am unable to give you a price yet as negotiations are on-going, so please bare with me while I try secure these coins for us.

The moment I have news, you will all be informed. Please have sufficient BTC ready to send once/if a deal is confirmed, as I will want to meet No_2 to complete this within 48hrs (from deal agreed) if No_2 agrees with this too.

I will ask everyone to make payment to my usual address posted here, in my signature, and on my profile. That address is: 1ZephertJThxkHih7XcaUHBkMSnvkTt5u.

Signed message to verify this is actually Zepher:

Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
This is Zepher and the current date is Friday 8 June 2018. This, my normal payment address, will be used for receipt of funds for the Casascius Group Buy from No_2. Once all payments are received, I will move the funds to my Trezor and post the txid. The coins will remain there until payment is made to No_2.
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNATURE-----
Version: Bitcoin-qt (1.0)
Address: 1ZephertJThxkHih7XcaUHBkMSnvkTt5u

G3mCdv28qewe+odg4H1DqX9tSkBRIrCvBMEjq+CFGT4qKCDbCYJxAWE+nNzKDbYUiDv/Q7ColhE2vwAsLQXIgKU=
-----END BITCOIN SIGNATURE-----

The message verifies, but do NOT take my word for it - Verify Everything yourself.

I'm pretty confident that a deal can be done here, especially with us combining funds - and this way, EVERYONE pays the same price as everyone else.

@No_2 - I am going to send you my phone number in a Privnote. Feel free to contact me anytime after 9am tomorrow morning.

Thanks all.

Zepher

"Anonymous" isn't whoever you think it is Cheesy I guarantee you, you won't be able to tell who this person is! The main thing is that you are getting a coin Smiley

Ill jump in on the .5 btc train reserve list and if that doesn’t work Out I’m interested in a 1 btc. But I have a lot of questions about shipping and that sort of thing...

Also, I looked at the zip and I can’t really figure out the adobe thing. How can you prove it was from Mike based off a pdf?

Looks like you may be out of luck here bud, as it appears all coins are taken.

I have just downloaded the ZIP and will look through it all now. The PDF's would have been signed with Mike's Adobe Key, which prove he made the COA's. I am more knowledgeable about PGP than Adobe, so I will let someone else answer that question for you.

Edit: Shipping: For all US buyers, I will ship them all to either minerjones or Lesbian Cow (depends who is available) and they will have to distribute within the US. I will do all EU shipments.

Ahh, darn Sad

Well I guess just keep me on the .5 and 1 btc “reserve list” and just let me know if someone backs out. Would love to have one of these as my first cas coin Smiley

I am going to be fair and give 2 x 0.5 BTC coins to the first 2 people on the 0.5 BTC reservation list. They would be krogothmanhattan, and AT101ET. That reduces my coins to 5 x 0.5 BTC's.

I have sent an opening offer to No_2, people involved will be kept informed of events.

Thanks,

Zepher
