How i can set my fans 100% always? My wires are sets reverset (dont know why), and when i have low temps, they do 100%, but when the temps are up, the fans went down, lol Smiley.
I used, --avalon-fan 20, 5, 10, etc, no help, i also tried --quiet, but the same situation (lower temp higher fan, higher temp lower fan), i want to use the fans at max speed, or at least at 80-90, but all the time.. Ty..

I spoke with BTmine this morning by email and my repair parts are shipping out.  They are back in from the New Year and I suggested they post an update here on the forum.  That we all know that there are still in business and working on the support issues.

You don't have to put three workers in, that's just for load balancing and fail over. You have some seriously bad units there though.

One thing I do notice is the temp is very hot and I'd suggest turning the fans up. I don't let mine get above 60C (ambient room temp 25C).

I already upped the fans to --avalon-fan 80-80, still running hot.

Hi everyone,

We're having some issues and hopefully someone can suggest what we can do.

Here are a few logs:

Have you read the thread?  For the second machine you show, my guess is that you have either connector/cable issues or fuse issues.  Both are detailed in this thread.  For the first and third, that's the first I've seen of that - very strange.  Seems like either network, power, or configuration issues.

The above isn't mining worth anything. Firmware has been upgraded as well. Suggestions?

Same issues. Some boards aren't working, and all capacitors are on board. None has fallen off.

Same issues.

Being that we are using one pool currently, do we HAVE to put 3 workers in, or can we put one username/password in and the threads will work as one?

Any help would be appreciated.

I received an email response from them on Friday, that I had sent at the beginning of the week.  I wrote back immediately and am awaiting another response.  It has been three days, it is not looking good.

I am very frustrated with the lack of support from them on the I miner I have in hand.  I can not think of how angry you must be having not even received your miners yet!  Keep trying to contact them and do not give up.  I will let you know if I gat any responses.

Are these guys back from Chinese NY?

Over a month since I paid and NO ASIC's.  PMs, eMails and Skype messages sent but no reply.  Paid with BTC Sad

I haven't heard anything since Jan 25th, when they told me they can't find my address (even though it had been confirmed and verified).  Have 2 of the ASIC's on order.

One of my friends who ordered 3 from them got a refund via paypal (even after a claim was filed they didn't respond, paypal unilaterally refunded).

I'm really, really hoping these guys didn't just totally jet and scam me out of my BTC; my hopes of ROI'ing have diminished, but I'd atleast like to have something in hand (even broken).

Common BTMiner, take care of your customers.  This is extremely frustrating.

Your fans should run faster as the temperature rises.  Your observations are disturbing, it appears that your sensors are wired in reverse.  causing the fans to act opposite of intended.  If you are comfortable doing this you may want to try rewiring them.

Mtnminer

Can you show photo how it must be connected to Xilinx board and Sensor?

If you disconnect and repair the shorted wires, there is a good chance your wifi will work again.  The wifi is very low voltage and low rf output, so there is probably no permanent damage.  I suspect you wifi controller is fine.

Mtnminer

Sorry to hear that, you could disable wifi and run lan.   It is better over all to be on lan, less loss and stales.

Mtnminer

In my miner WiFi antenna's wires are short-circuited among themselves. It can be cause of nonworking WiFi?

Maybe it happened in connector, it looks little damaged. If I disassemble it and wires will non short-circuited it may be work, yes? Or because of wires are short-circuited, WiFi controller already is dead?

I unsolder WiFi wire, they really shorted.

what algorithm of fan regulator and temperature sensor? I noticed that fans blow more slowly when air warmer and quicker when it colder. 2 experiments:
The sensor between radiator edges from an air outlet. Floor temperature on an entrance of the fan 23 degrees. Temperature of plate with avalon chips is 70 degrees.
The sensor is outside. Floor temperature on an entrance of the fan of 18 degrees. Temperature of plate with avalon chips is 60 degrees.

Thanks Powel for posting the details and images of your ordeal and improvements to the miners.  Please keep us informed as you move forward with these modifications.  I am very interested in the water cooling and the 4u case mod.

Mtnminer

I bought my first unit from BTMine on the 4th of January.  A few days later I ordered a total of 5 more, but canceled 2 when the delays began and I received the next 3 units that were not close to the quality of the first one.  I've battled things 24/7 from fuses, half hashing modules, etc...  They still hash away and next week I am going to be making my final changes to them.  I have to strategically place the plugs so nobody shares to much voltage and pops a breaker at the shop.  The noise is just getting old as well...  Well the watercooled system is pretty damn quiet esp since I replaced all the fans Syscool gives you with aftermarket fans (quieter and more CFM).

Anyway thought I'd post a few pics of the units right as they are right now.  The shop hang out area is not clean so pardon the mess.

This is Powell 4 and Powell 7 ... Powell 4 is the original unit I received ... Powell 7 was the last unit that was the problem child setting up originally.

Powell 4 stats ... Freq : 1500 ... Bitburner-voltage : 1100 ... This unit I can't even remember if it has fuses.  I have not had it apart since the initial unboxing, etc.  It did at one point have points where it would has at close to 250GH/s for an hour or so at a time.

This is right now and yes 3% HW error Sad  It got reset 2 hours ago when a breaker popped and reset the wrong one LOL.  It usually is in the low 2's.

Powell 7 runs on all factory settings ... After the hell with getting it running I never touched it again...

Then we have the Frankenstein box which is Powell 6 ... This is its final state it is powered by a RPi (this was recent changed to play with LCD display).  It is missing an entire board (both modules or whatever due to a bad soldering I did) but still is kicking.  I have it set with Bitburner-Voltage: 1100 ... Freq: 1500

Lastly is bastard Powell 5 ... A half hashing, fucked fused, shit hole LOL.  This miner has done nothing but screw with me it is missing random caps (but those modules hash perfect?? but they aren't the usual ones, it's the two that sit next to each other).  So with my final conversion of these I received my first of two 4 board power modules.  This allowed me to run with just one Enermax 1000 right now.  Yes it's in pieces but it's hashing LOL!

I couldn't get a good pic from my phone but here is the power module.  I don't know the exact part number ... I bough both on Ebay just search "Avalon DIY"  I just put this in so I cannot offer any kind of support with it yet.

My new cases ship tomorrow along with heatsinks to fit them and convert to a 4U form factor box that will run 4 modules per box with a 1600W Power Supply.  I will be moving them to our datacenter soon to get them out of here.  I have 4 ants here and 10 more coming this week and already setup a spot for them and don't want to have to fit the Avalons there.

Before I found the case I was going to make a setup that was 2x 4U's  and I spent about 3 or 4 hours tinkering before I got a hold of the guy.  It was a $79 case from Directron (they are local to me).  The top unit was going to house the FPGA's , 4 modules (water cooled) and the RPi.  The bottom was going to hold 4 PSU's, power modules, water pump (the pump they claimed was good for 4-6 cards) and the radiator (rated for same for pumps).

Again this was a few hours of boredom and dropped.

When I get the new cases together I will post pics.
