Oh hell!  How am I supposed to connect an ATX PSU to the funky connector on the backplane?  Searching for a converter is futile.  Do I need to buy one of those inefficient, crap server PSUs?

Looks like it has those same green connectors on either side as goes on the blade... I assume one side would be Pos and the other side Neg

I was hoping there's a connector adapter so I could plugin an ATX PSU into the server PSU connector.

So do you suggest I take the ATX motherboard 24 power connector and hook the 2 12v wires?  But imagine that's not enough juice for 6 new-style Blades.  So I'd need to use a bunch of PCIe cables too.  This crap is giving me hemorrhoids!  Maybe I just need to order the HP DPS 800GBA or the ATSN 7001044-Y000.

And on top of this headache, I think I received a bad Blade.  Can't get it to hash after setup.  Sad

I just received the V2 blade today.  I plugged Ethernet and 12V power just as I did for the V1 blade but I get no LED response from Blade -- just a tiny bit of heat to indicate it could be alive.  Power reads fine at 12V with a multimeter.   I assume the Ethernet lights should be flashing when the board is powered (like the V1 board).   I get 'page cannot be displayed' if I goto 192.168.1.254:8000 with a browser.  The installed fuse still tests fine with a multimeter too. Any ideas?

NOTE:  ASICminer V2 blade instructional diagram here:
http://www.minersource.net/asicminer-blade/4579132096

Voltage measured at the (-/+) pins at 12.10 volts.  Also (-) post to R2R is 1.06 volts so the board has power (using a 12V 360W power supply -- works fine for the V1 blade).  No lights on the blade or the switch port it's connected to.  Anyone ever do a hardware reset?  I wonder how long to hold pins 1&2 together for a normal hardware reset (instant? 6 seconds?).

 Undecided

Country music is where my heart is.
Thx.  Blades are soldered to gold finger and psu only show 11.08 volts with one new blade running.  paperclip looks secure no shorts.

New Corsair power supply shuts down when plug in second new blade.  Each blade will run individually.  Used different 12v outputs and separate outputs.

I know two pci e used simultaneously can shut psu down, so am using two 12v outputs or one split.  Corsair psu still shuts down on with second blade plugin.  So looks like more than 8 amps and psu shuts down (Corsair 750 watt new).

Am I doing something dumb?  Thinking this new Corsair psu is bad...?

Any suggestions?

thx

Double and tipple check your wiring. I had the same issue with a computer b4, I had shorted out a wire and it kept causing the psu to shut down. Also check your paperclip, sometimes they don't make full contact and can cause power loss.

With one blade running the voltage at the psu is just 11.08 volts.

Any suggestions?  Can someone tell me their indicated voltage at psu with blades running, as I only show 11 volts.

thx

I fixed it. Cheesy Its working with stratum proxy now.

The problem was I had it on a 200foot cat5 cable. There must have been packet loss or something. I put it on a 3 foot cat5 cable and ran the proxy on one of my mining rigs that was about 5 feet away on the same router, boom 10gh/s.

I have a feeling these blades don't have a strong enough nic to send a signal over a few hundred feet. Either that or my 200foot cat5 cable has problems, It seems to work fine on my gaming pc tho.

Thank you guys for all the help.

Maybe its an issue with the v2 blades?

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues with the new blades?

My new blades have been working at close to 100% efficiency non-stop since I got them a couple of weeks ago.  I am using the get-work proxy built-in to BFGMiner, though.  I have not tried that stratum proxy you guys are using because BFGMiner allows me to use the blades on any pool I want, and works great.  Give it a try.  Only works on Linux, though...

I'm game to try it. I tried installing BFGminer on my vmware ubuntu and it wouldn't start with the proxy argument. Care to post a guide on how to install BFGminer with the correct parts to work the way you describe? I'm pulling my hair out here. lol

Not sure what you are trying to start bfgminer with. Just start it with a http-port option and point your blades to that instance of bfgminer. then bfgminer will run the blades

I don't think so as had mines running for a good few weeks now, going to try a few things then report back.

Just wondering have you tried a different pool using the proxy ?

I have been using Slush but going to trys tonight
