i have a problem with all of my antminer s2.

it keeps turning off after 15-30min hashing, then it need to be unplug for 5 min before it can be turn on again. anyone having the same problem?
perhaps firmware issue or other known issue ??

btw, how to control the fan?

I have the same problem with the half of my ten S2 miners.
I dont think its a problem of the temperatur, but i will test it.

Please, can somebody help?
If its time based its going to be temperature based somewhere - either the unit itself or the PSU.

Fans are PWM controlled so you can't (and don't need to) for now. What are the temperatures or symptoms that forces you to unplug?

Warning for anyone that tries the 212.5 Freq. Don't be a dumb a** like me.  Upgrade your power supply first!  You've been warned  Embarrassed

Whats your added power consumption? I've not found the additional power required for the ~65GH to be worthwhile.

not sure.  i have a 1500w power supply and didnt check.  i do know that 225 reported 1200 gh/s at the miner level but under 1000 gh/s at the pool.

Anybody have any luck figuring out the voltage mod on the S2?

While it probably won't cost justify, if you have free or low cost power, it could be an option.

got mine clocked at 212.5Mhz which yields about 1080gh/s consistently.  tried 225Mhz and while it shows 1200 gh/s the pool side shows under 1000 gh/s, so there must be a lot of hardware errors or stales or something.  without some kind of voltage mod or increase i dont know how much higher than 212.5 you can go.  i dont have the settings to try any other ranges between 212.5 and 225 though.

if you do the following the config will save even through reboots:
1. have 4/10/14 firmware
2. ssh into miner (user root, password admin)
3. cd /config
4. vi asic-freq.config
5. comment out current stats (place a # in front of lines that dont have it)
6. add these:
        option 'freq_value'    '0801'  #212.5M
        option 'chip_freq'     '212.5'
        option 'timeout'       '40'
7. save
8. you can either type reboot or you can go to the web interface and click save on the miner configuration page.

Great Post -- THANK YOU!

This is my first AntMiner and so far so good.

Tweaked to 200 on the freq and after 2 days it is averaging ~25GH higher.

Tried 250 without any luck. Even tried with only 4 mining boards in case it was drawing too much power.

Hoping there is some good headroom to overclock ...

I'll be trying with a 1500W PSU but without chip voltage control there isn't much headroom.

After mining for 2d11h33m28s with my B2 S2 i have the following :

Accepted : 138173
Rejected : 546
Discarded : 3527868

Can anyone tell me why this number is so huge, and does it matter, and explanation of this would be appreciated ?
Because accepted is at difficulty 1024 and rej + disc are at difficulty 1. Adjusted you get:

A 141,489,152
R 546
D 3,527,868
=~2.5%

Is there a quick fix for the high Stale and Dupe shares? Thank you!

Edit: My PSU died, wondering if these high stale and dupe shares are the results of a not so good PSU...
Unlikely, they're not a symptom of power issues.
