Well from what I've read plugging in a pcie 6+2 connector into the cpu slot (on the psu) will fry whatever your connecting.

You would have to verify the pinout. If you change the wiring so that +12v go to +12v and ground to ground, there should not be any problem, assuming the cpu socket is on the main rail. Seem risk prone.

I think the best way to save a socket would probably use perif to molex, then use a 2x molex to PCI-e adapter to power the controller.

I would not do this to power a blade.

Oh, so you can use the outputs labeled for CPU? I haven't plugged it in yet, it is new, just figured i should stick to VGA power points.

i bought the EVGA 1600 G2 to try out. still waiting on a 6 pin splitter to be shipped in though. it has 9 PCIe slots. so close!

The EVGA 1600 G2 comes with at least 14 PCI-e connectors. My 1300 G2 came with many and also had some 1x6+1x6+2 pins cables too. So you should have plenty of connectors.

Did you get it used? Or did you not count both 6+2 and 6 pin cables?

From stock;
PCIE: 9 x 8pin (6+2), 5 x 6pin = Total would be 14 connectors.

That reminds me, what PSU did you use Dogie? I'm looking at either getting one like yours or doubling up on a Corsair 850 modular psu (it weighs as much as a barge, I love it.).
Mine is on a DPS-2000 but that's more to do with the PSU already being on the right shelf than anything. 2x Corsair CX750Ms is the cheapest but requires 2 additional 2xmolex to PCI-E adapters. There isn't really a sensible single consumer PSU option, so 2x of whatever you can get should be okay.

Can a single 110V 15A outlet handle this? Thanks for your help!
110 * 15 * 0.8 = sort of but not really. I don't think officially you should be doing that 24/7 but its your decision.

Those two images don't line up, they're showing different pools to each other. Also, what PSU are you using?

I changed the pool in next image
I buy the psu from bitmaintech

Try 575mhz on the advanced settings page and go back to Antpool.

dogie, are you going to test out the S7 firmware updates and let us know the pros and cons?  I'm hearing it is giving a slight improvement and less variation in hash rates but I'm leery of upgrading until I know what they might be taking away...

Maybe although firmware is always a tricky area. People come up with the weirdest "it did x y z blew up my machine error rate up 0.00005%" things which makes it hard to tell anyone anything of value when its drowned out by anecdotes.

Usually firmware is released to fix specific problems...does anyone know what this release addresses?  Do you have any inside scoop on this one?
