Thanks for the help everyone, especially wolfey, you guys are awesome.

Here's where's I'm at now: I can log in through SSH, start cgminer but when I plug in the first GSD it doesn't seem to recognize it as it's not hashing or getting any accepted shares after 30 or so mins. Green LED comes on when I plug in the USB, fan is on, red led lights up occasionally. Below is a screenshot from cgminer, any help would be appreciated.

yes CGMiner is not stable with the GD5 chips, It causes them to "zombie out" after a while. I changed over to Scripta which has been running rock solid for a couple of days now. Are all cgminer versions unstable and did I just get lucky so far?

From what I understand, even though bfgminer reports more reject rates than cgminer, both miner software have the same share submission level, so it might be that one of the 2 flavors is giving out inaccurate readings. (I didn't write the gridseed patch for BFGMiner, you can contact nwools for that).
But the main difference between the two is, with CGMiner I'm getting significantly less pool hashrate than BFGMiner (especially when plugging in more than 10 miners on 1 PI), and that's what counts.

Hi Wolfey2014. Good for you man. I love CPUMiner, but the thing is, it doesn't show you the hashrate / accepted / rejected shares. So you don't really know what the reject rate is (wafflepool doesn't show it either)

Well, you are right but,, litecoinpool.org does and other pools I use do as well.
I don't trust local hash rates where cg and bfd miners go.
I am interested in seeing what Hashra Controlla can do though.
It's well tested and proven, evidently and supposedly very user friendly just like cpuminer is.

USB cables?

Seriously, check the connections between cupcakes and hub(s), between hub(s) and raspberry, check power to the hub(s). Green light should turn on as soon as you connect USB cable.

Seriously, check the connections between cupcakes and hub(s), between hub(s) and raspberry, check power to the hub(s). Green light should turn on as soon as you connect USB cable.

Hi,
I have an issue on my gridseed.
I have set up all gridseed (x10), and configure the raspberry. It's ok the firmware work and i can acces to rasp on browser.
All my gridseed is on power with 2 psu, the fan turn on, but none have a green or red light, just fan turn on and that's all.
what have i missing ?

Just wanted to clarify as this misconception is being repeated all over the forums:

High pool difficulty does not negatively affect Gridseeds. Yes, it causes more variance and you may see initial hashrates as reported by the pool starting very low or very high, however over a long enough period (e.g. 24 hours) it will be close to your actual hashrate. Waffle's default diff is 512, CleverMining is 512 too, Middlecoin is 1024. I've been using all three pools, as well as GHash.IO at diff 128, and all reported hashrates are spot on - between 355-365 KH/s at 850 MHz per each cupcake, with reject rates no different than GPU miners.

Not missing that fan noise at all. Have my fan from my DualMiners pointed at it and running them all at 850 with no extra heat to the touch. Could probably try 900.

Anyone else getting lower hash rates with cgminer? I am using 20 miners per pi and they get a steady 7.1Kh each in cgminer but only to 6.2 to 6.8 on scryptguild with 2.7% rejects. Is this normal or do I need to reduce the pi to miner ratio?

I compiled for my RPi, but after running a while, I get paging error. I tried increasing the swapfile size from 100MB to 256MB, I still get paging error.

I have compiled for both dtbartle version and girnyau version, but get paging error after running sometime.

I am testing with 1 Gold GS.

On Win, no issue, very stable, but not on RPi. I am using Wheezy image.

It's not paging error. It's the usb drivers on wheezy. you have to update your rpi to the next branch
