Hi ya all, pardon my ignorance being a newbie in xmr,

Just a curious question, is it normal in sgminer-gm 5.5.5 mining xmr with poworcolor rx470 4g(elpida) clocking 1106@2025  to have such a big difference in hash rate(-20%) in the same hardware different os, same config --rawintensity 752 -w 8 -g 2,

windows10(beta blockchain 11aug)
 avg 861h/s each gpu
linux ubuntu 17.04(dagfix installed)
 avg 695h/s each gpu

while mining ethereum, I got 30mh/s in windows, a fraction bit lower 29.6mh in linux with the same conditions.

Please lead me to the right direction and point me out what could be wrong?

Thank you so much.

I have Hynix Memory H5GC4H24AJ from an MSI Armor RX 570 running 999000000000000022559D0010DE5B4480551312B74C450A00400600750414206A8900A00200312 010112D34A42A3816
in 1500+ getting 360h/s per thread for a total of 720h/s with clocks at 1075/1900 at 0.875V in GPU-Z.

Anyone run better straps for that memory type?

This cards been a pain to get stable or even running even with the stock bios. I'm currently stable with these settings though.

I run over 30 1080(tis) and 8 VEGA and havent had this much of an issue to get a card stable and at proper hashrates. I've had samsung and elpida RX 480 cards previously and those were easy to mod and get stable.

Claymore's CryptoNote 10 - 1020 H/s

XMR-Stak-AMD is still a little bit better but if Claymore CryptoNote could dual mine it will be a winner.

can you send me your straps? i have hynix memory but i would like to try out
I use Ubermix3.1 strap

What Hashrate would I need from my CPU to be profitable mining Monero? I'm trying to find something worth mining and I like Monero just not sure it would be worth it.

cpu mining monero you will just burn money...

i think xmg coin is best for cpu mining

TY I will look into that then

If you don't have memory errors, your core voltages might be too low. Try it with stock voltages also what config do you use? With stock one it will be stable, but hashrate won't be very good.

I finally managed to get my system stable at a nice hashrate of ~865H/s per GPU. I noticed a lot of memory errors with HWInfo (+350000 within an hour) using this downloaded bios from the Anorek forum, so I think that was the cause of the crashes. I took the stock bios from one of my GPU's, changed it with the optimized Elpida memory timings, changed the clocks to 1150/2080 (same as the Anorek rom) and set the voltage to 975mV. I still have memory errors, but not as much as it used to be. The system is using a bit more power (330W -> 350W), but the hashrate increased from 2260H/s to 2600H/s and so far no system reboot after 12 hours!  Smiley

Which settings are optimal for Vega64 with XMR-Stak-AMD miner?
Read the VEGA thread for the best one. I only know this one from Helae should be good:

I really have some difficulty getting my rig to mine XMR. I have tried many suggestions in this great thread, but i am not happy with the results of my setup. I have three Sapphire RX580 4Gb Elpida cards with modded roms (core clock 1150 /memory clock 2080 core voltage -96). These roms worked really great when i was mining Ethereum, 30+Mh/s per card with low wattage and stable on Claymore 10. However with the current difficulty of mining Eth and my electricity costs it's hardly profitable to keep mining Eth so i switched to XMR with the same setup. But it is a pain in the ***. I have tried all three miners. SGminer-5.5.5 and XMR-Stak-AMD are not stable at all and give me 700 h/s at most. Both miners will crash my Windows 10 within the hour. Claymore seems more stable, but still crashes my machine several times a day and uses much more wattage.

How do you get these setups to run stable with a nice hashrate? I think it should be possible to get at least 800+ h/s out of these cards and have a stable setup.
If you don't have memory errors, your core voltages might be too low. Try it with stock voltages also what config do you use? With stock one it will be stable, but hashrate won't be very good.

I have switched from the Blockchain Beta Aug23 drivers to the official Crimson Relive 17.7.2 drivers. The blockchain drivers gave me 3+Mh/s per GPU extra with mining ETH, but I read in this thread that it doesn't have any benefit for mining XMR. I kept the modded roms and the system seems to be much more stable with both sgminer and xmr-stak. Then I change my config to:
            "rawintensity": "512",
            "worksize": "4",
            "gpu-threads": "2"
With these settings it gets me a hashrate of ~378H/s per thread in xmr-stak (which I prefer), so 756 per GPU with 330Watt. I think it should be possible to get better hashrates, but not without using more wattage.

are these settings any good. it was stable for 24 hours untill i restarted it before going out.
2nd i am unable to run sgminer any one please share your config file, Sad
the intensity I've put in here is multiplied by 32*55 i've read some where that it should be multiplied by 32 lol.
again any one please guide me for SG miner. it doesnt seem to work by the OP settings mentioned. or i think i am a noob.
