Still using and reviewing unit.  Software is extremely impressive.  Was easiest install how it detected the miner automatically.  They have made it very easy for those who buy multiple unit's to change settings for all units in a matter of seconds, and only doing it once.

Will keep using and let everyone know more, as I believe this is first post of SF-28 showing in hand on this forum.

Id love to get my hands on a few of these

Contact Mr. Lee/PCFLI in group buy here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wwweasy2minecom-340-the-group-buy-of-antminer-s5psu-included-514758  . There is discount's for multiple.  Should start shipping on 6/15 Smiley.

I'm looking at buying 2 or 3 of them to add to alongside my GPU farm, so far this is the only review I have seen. I'm not convinced yet as there is no history of how stable they are or if they crash when mining on multi-pools,reboots, lockups, etc.

Hopefully will get a more comprehensive review with stats, uptime, etc...

nice evaluation, i had to say you have done an exclent job:)
just want to add one comment, two or more SF-28M miners can link together with ethernet cable, thus you can run as much as 100 unit with only one computer

The price of the sf-28M miner adjust to 1999$ now

If hashing speed seems low try these possible solutions:

For me personally I experienced more stability and speed with very cool air going through it.  Proper air-flow can effect your hashing rate and stability.  Cool air and not just air flow can make the difference if your unit seems to be un-stable.

Second would be to try the new firmware.  If your SilverFish miner on the performance (M) tab goes to 14 on both blades and stabilizes then most likely you are on the most current firmware.  If you are having good luck with older firmware I would not upgrade, but this new firmware can help unit's that were less stable on older firmware.

You can use these in combination together and that is also the third option.  Using both seems to help some.

It does seem some blades can preform lower then others.  Some will work right out of box with no additional cooling needed or firmware updates.  Others will notice the above hopefully has had a positive impact on stability/speed.

Windows 1 Hour restarting batch file
This will restart the software at a one hour interval.  This might help some that have a significant drop after a few hours of running.  You can change the .exe file name below if batch file if you are using the English version or a different version of the software. Note you must edit the task killing .exe and start .exe both if you edit it to different version/language.
Steps
  • Open up notepad
  • Paste the following in notepad:

    Echo "Lee Group - Notlist3d - SFMinerR2.1 Hourly Restart"
    TaskKill /F /IM SFLMiner_r2.1.exe
    timeout /t 3
    start SFLMiner_r2.1.exe
    timeout /t 7200
    start restart.bat
    EXIT

    Or R3.04

    Echo "Notlist3d - SFMinerR3.04 Hourly Restart"
    TaskKill /F /IM SFLMiner_r3.04.exe
    timeout /t 3
    start SFLMiner_r3.04.exe
    timeout /t 7200
    start restart.bat
    EXIT

  • Go to file save as then select any file as type and name it restart.bat in the same folder as your SilverFish mining software
  • You are able to now run this by clicking it within the folder

SilverFish 28MH Scrypt Miner

0) General information + Hardware Needed

2) The Miner
3) Install
4) How to order

0) General Information + Hardware Needed
This miner is an open air design that might remind some of the S1 Ant miner design at first glance.  It’s a compact little miner that still packs a punch with 28 MH of Scrypt mining power.  Between the two blades it has a total of 40 SF300K01 chips.  This miner is rated to run on about 440 watts.

Hardware needed in addition to SilverFish 28MH miner.

  • Standard power supply with 2 PCI-E 6 Pin adapters (suggest 500 watts or bigger)
  • Computer to run SilverFish mining software
  • Network cables - 1 network cable to go to your network, and other to link blades

1) Unpacking
I was very impressed with the packing.  I received mine within two boxes.  The miner was well insulated with styrofoam covering the miner as shown.  You can see it appears to have taken shipping to customer as a priority with amount of protection on miner

2) The Miner
Below are images to showcase the miner.  In comparison to showcase it’s size in one picture it’s beside the A2 30 MH miner.

3) Install
A)First off you will need a standard computer supply with 2 PCI-E 6 pin adapters, each blade uses one adapter. I suggest using a 500 watt power supply or more to save a headache as mine seemed to run in range of pretty steady right around 430 watts but could reach 450 occasionally.  I used the paperclip trick to get the power supply to run without a computer.  As always if you do this be careful with electricity.

B)Below shows how to connect your miner network cables.  Closest Ethernet slot to PCI-E adapter goes to network, outer Ethernet slot allows you to connect next blade:

C)With this miner you are provided with software to run on Windows that makes it very easy to control multiple SilverFish Miners. It very easy to install through provided official link: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1ntK9cql

Simply extract the following files into a folder on your computer, and open the application.  There is a Chinese and English version of the program.  The English version if followed by "_EN"

D)Once ran it will automatically find your miner on your network.  It’s as simple as that.  Below shows how it has found one SilverFish 28MH miner and within it the two blades:

E)Simply add a pool if not there by hitting operate then add pool.   Most likely it has one default one there simply right click on it to change the miner pool settings as shown below and click ok after:

4) How to order
Simply go over to the Lee group buy located at: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wwweasy2minecom-340-the-group-buy-of-antminer-s5psu-included-514758
Shipping scheduled to start shipping on 6/15.
