Bitcoin is untraceable unless and until you transact it into your bank account. The calculation is very simple here, whenever you use a local exchanger with bank account connected to it then bank will understand from nature of business that it is associated with crypto currency’s. Nonetheless any peer to peer transaction will also have many doubts since you will have to justify the income while filing the taxation. It is just very easy track down in that way. So answering to your question it’s anonymous until you use bitcoin to bitcoin network and not to Fiat.

Same with fiat currency. A lot of uses for illegal things.
That's why as times goes by these kinds of news started to become normal for everyone.
Even with the use of fiat currency on such illegal things, still government cannot totally avoid it, so it is more difficult to Bitcoin as decentralized currency.

Nothing we can do about it. People knew how to use decentralisation on a negative aspect. It's kinda hard to accept that those guys are using the beauty of bitcoin and it's peer to peer activity. No doubt this will make a huge fud on crypto and bitcoin and the government where those incident happened will be alarmed that cryptocurrency has indeed has negative application cause aside from the freedom to use it. People can decide to use it on like this which is quite unfortunate.

As much as this will obviously put bitcoin in a bad light, it is really no one's fault neither is it bitcoin's fault.
It has been known for a long time that no good thing has always been used for good. You should also know every thing has its advantages and disadvantages.
Well, maybe one of the disadvantages of bitcoin is the fact that it can be used for criminal purposes. This however doesn't change the fact that bitcoin is good and is created for our financial freedom

he could have just run but leave his daughter to his wife or grandparents instead, shes got a better future when freely she can go to school than being with a fugitive. it will just add up to his crimes.
it appears like they just insert that Bitcoin idea there but didn't prove he is actually using BTC. well, again it will put BTC in the bad light like it did in the past.

Bitcoin is not an outright threat to fiat. Fiat remains fiat and can never be replaced by bitcoin. Governments have their respective regulations and every government in the world has different regulations regarding the application of bitcoin in their country. Some of the people who scare about bitcoin are those who are against bitcoin and really intend to drop bitcoin. Just like the President of the USA, He/she can be easily target by fake propaganda since he/she is hot on everyones eye and which only means that he has a lot of enemy.

The "Bitcoin is being used by terrorists and gangsters" narrative is old(and nobody gives a s*it),so the BTC haters will begin with the "Bitcoin is being used by the pedophiles." narrative.Disgusting 
People,who don't know s*it about Bitcoin,think that BTC is truly anonymous,which is so wrong.

But obviously majority of us don't used crypto this way and it's just a small percentage. But those no coiners or at least those who don't like crypto will spin this narrative to portray it as something that criminals have been using for their illicit activities. As compare to Fiat? it is very small and the use might go going down every year as criminals can't really cover or hide their tracks through bitcoin.

The only thing you need to remember tho is that Fiat currency is ALSO used by criminals, peedo scum, corrupt government scum and banker scum ... So there is no argument that BTC is going to end the world of God abiding good to do Christians and socialist governments because everyone is inherently bad as is all forms of monetary exchange. Everything and everyone is open to corruption. If we were all trading in bags of compost, compost would be open to corruption.

It definitely will put it in a bad light when you include pedophiles in the same thread about bitcoin being used as a runaway money, not to mention that it is also a situation in USA, the land full of ignorant people and manipulation, the sin capital.
internet - mostly every fking social media platform is being used by paedophiles all the time. No one cares. It will not put a bitcoin in bad light either.
Paper cash (real untraceable asset) is being used in such situations all the time. No one cares.
Bitcoin has nothing incommon with this case. Does not significantly help and at the first mistake will expose his every move - unlike cash.

If this story gets even more mainstream, I think that bitcoin will definitely suffer as there are a lot of media personality there that are willing to talk shit about bitcoin and they are going to sensationalize this story as something that will hurt bitcoin.
