I think safest ERC20 wallet is software offline MEW.
Use your private keys and generate transactions on the offline PC only and send those generated transactions on the other online computer.
Since your PKs are offline all the time, they can't be stolen...

My opinionis that HW does not provide better security than a proper (redundant) encrypted backup if your intent is to use it as a cold storage. Storing your bitcoin in electrum on your daily use pc may not be the best idea. A hardware wallet is (in my view) a compromise between being able to do transactions (without going through the hassle of taking coins out of cold storage), while maintaining a reasonable level of protection against your pc being compromised.

Well i have heard a lot about hardware wallets and i see the use for it. It is safe and secure. Most people i know use trezor. But i don't have one yet. Honestly, i can't afford it. I don't have a bitcoin yet so i really don't think i need that much security. Im just trading a little of what i have. I use software wallets for now and im ok with it.

Surfing on the bitcointalk forum, I sometimes see some threads discussing about hacking of wallets and the discussion is geared towards the best wallets to secure individuals from hackers. Hardware wallets are normally mentioned. I decided to find out about hardware wallets and my searches made me know that, wallets which are normally hacked are of software base. I found out that some viruses which attack computers are able to steal private keys from the software wallets that we normally use. The issue of virus attacking a computer makes the use of hardware wallet very advantageous over software wallet since the hardware wallet are immune against viruses, hence viruses cannot steal from such wallets. My question is what are some of the hardware wallets and how can one get a hardware wallet?

I dig some previous discussion Hardware Wallet for you mate:

I'm pretty sure that you will find tons of idea on which hardware wallet can suits you. Actually hardware wallets are fairly cheap that's why I don't understand why people keeps on using online or even desktop wallet. Although other wallets have advantages, specially if you are a daily trader, but if you are a long term investor and just wanted to HODL bitcoin for more than a year, then definitely a Hardware wallet is the best for you.

Hardware wallet since is offline without keylogger is more secure than software wallet, but you need to have a decent amount of money in cryptocurrencies since the price is near 100$.

I don't think there is a wallet without any threat. While software wallets are prone to hacks, hardware wallets are prone to damages. One's advantage is the others disadvantage and vise versa.

both. to back all data choose both is best choice because when the hardware wallet is broken you have back up in softwallet
when you lose in softwallet, you have still back up in hardware wallet

For the safest of your cryptos, I recommend using hardware wallets like Ledge Nano S and Trezor. Recently, e-wallets such as MEW have been hacked and exploited by the hacker, causing severe damage. So you should invest money to buy Ledge Nano S if you want to store ETH and Trezor if store Bitcoin.

I just a little bit understand about your question.
There are some hardware wallet
1 Trezor
2 Nano ledger
3 Created your own hardware wallet through used USB (someone has posted how to do this)

If you are interesting to get hardware wallet and you can try to go to
1 https://trezor.io/ (if you are interested to buy trezor) it has a better security compared with nano
2 https://www.ledgerwallet.com/ (If you are interested to buy nano) it was focusing to support various coins.

Honestly, i'm trezor user and i never have any problem with it. But in my experience use software wallet is safe too as long as you can keep your desktop clean from the malware anytime.

I agree, I also use trezor and never had a problem with it. But eitherway, both nano and trezor are good investments if you are looking for long term.

I agree with you, not just the hardware wallet which is a safe place to store our assets but the software wallet is also safe as long as we protect our computer in the right and good way.

The top 2 wallets which are mostly used in the crypto world is Nano LedgerS & Trezor, you can easily buy it with a credit/debit card or BTC from their official website. Keep in mind never buy it form 3rd party, resellers or online from Amazon/eBay. They usually sell used wallets means they already hold the seeds for that wallet so avoid it. Make sure the first time when you turn on your hardware wallet it must ask you set up a pin & to store your seed words if it didn't ask you then for sure it is used.

Those software based wallets that got hacked most of the time is compromised because of it's users itself and IMO software wallets can be as secure as a hardware wallet if you have taken enough actions to secure your wallet. Better yet, try storing your coins in a paper wallet. IMO it is almost as secure as a hardware wallet for long term hold, it is also cheaper.

Software wallets have enough protection but still it's hackable.and you can see this type of news often .So people use hardware wallet tensor and ledger nano a is best in my opinion .But I don't use any cause the price of hardware wallet is very high if you don't have enough portfolio to protect then it's hard to buy one.Still I'd you have one you are risk free.

Ledger Nano, Trezor are well known best hardware wallet. Also, you can create your own hardware using a USB drive. Using trezor is a little messy while Ledger Nano is a totally user-friendly wallet. In addition, Ledger Nano supports various coins. Here is a link for Ledger.

Hackers are now very smart and can break any purse, even hardware, but it's very difficult to do. Hardware wallets now really have the highest level of baskeyki and I've heard a lot of good reviews about Nano ledger

Which wallet you will use that totally depends on needs and purpose. But if you use hardware wallet that will be better for you if you are going to hold it for long term. But if you are going to hold for short term then you can use software wallet.

I think hardware wallet is safe for all investors. Peoples are using these wallets and not complain against hardware wallet. Trezor is the best hardware wallet. But it’s also true no wallet is not 100%secure.

If you're talking about holding coin. then I'd prefer the hardware wallet like most of the members preferred.. but if you wanna hold more time then you can also use paoer wallet. as you know you can't hack paper 😜.. but for daily use i mean trading. you can use online wallets for daily transection. they are time efficient and easy to use in any place.

There are both advantage and disadvantage for bith hardware and software wallet. But which one will you prefer will depend on you as if you want to hold it for a long time than hardware wallet is better Abd if you want to transact daily than online wallet is better option. So choice is yours.
