humans will never be satisfied. maybe you've heard this sentence. I think it's better to live this life with gratitude. because the things we want will never end. every life has a purpose, so why not try to enjoy this life until we find that purpose.

Once a man, twice a child!
When you barely make ends meet, you'll bust yourself to make more money; when you actually make a lot of money, you'll find yourself in a position that is either stressful or boring. I wonder the purpose of making money can be easily distorted and sometimes we tend to lose ourselves in pursuit of money, instead of happiness.
Contentment in life is an individualistic thing. I chose that expression very carefully as we all know that every individual has what tickles them. What catches the fancy of Mr A may look stupid to Mr B and so on. However, anyone with a modest view of life and its vain glory should understand that what matters most is living a life that cast peace upon one. Peace of mind is very critical. Family life is the best anyone can desire to have. Have enough wealth not to make you go hungry, take good care of your health and the rest won't matter much. Otherwise, one will continue to chase the vanity of this life until one kicks the bucket.

Well, most of the time the pursuit of happiness is the twin brother of money. It's difficult to find happiness when you have nothing in your pockets. If you want to travel there is money involved and when you visit another country you will also need a budget to do so.
As for this age, is there really an existing happiness without money being involved unto it?
I seriously doubt that. Everything now has its price, every movement we make has a fee, there's nothing free anymore in this world, and even a one piece of nail should be bought in the hardware store. Your neighbor won't even give you one.
If you have money, it's easier to say you are free. Those who think it's boring when you have a better lifestyle must have been enjoying it since they were young. As for me, I have lots on my mind to enjoy it if ever I get rich.
Cash, cash, cash - it's like everybody's top tune now! Indeed, it appears as though everything has a sticker price, even the humble nail at the local store. Makes me ponder, if money genuinely purchases bliss, what's the going rate? Can I snatch it on Amazon Prime with complimentary delivery?
Honestly, money may give some comfort, but it's not the golden ticket to happiness. Some of the most joyful people I know possess little wealth. Maybe we should re-evaluate happiness in our existence. For me, it's a hot coffee and a captivating book, a goofy dance-off with buddies, or adorable animal clips on YouTube. Who needs a swanky yacht when you've got a cuddly kitten?

Yes, I have felt that way. In fact I am in that situation presently. Having to work 12 hours everyday at a job I hate with everything in me just because I want to have enough to feed myself, my family and still enough in the bank. I return everyday with one bodily pain or anxiety. If I had the power, if I could I would retire to the suburbs in a lake house where I wouldn't care for anything else in the world other than just enjoying peaceful nature. But then, this is not the case. Just two weeks ago, a colleague slumped and died at work. It didn't take up to two days, he was replaced. I was sick to my stomach because of it. Because we want to be free and financially independent.

We dont have a choice but to work. We have the same feeling and i do have a lot of hatreds about my company that i work for but i cant say it or resigned as we have nothing to eat for sure . I dont know until when we feel this but i hope that you'll get better too. I have a tip on you i am really fun watching documentaries it is better for you to watch also documentaries about poor people , dont have a jobs and etc as it can boost your emotional health and be thankful even if it is stressful

I feel sorry for your story and your colleague. Sad truth is that your experiences are not rare or maybe common in many places all over the world. I know how that feels to be struck in a job for working long hours without any breath of life. Harsh reality divides people into different places where we could never meet each other, just like what you mentioned retiring in a lake house VS. working 12 hours every day at a job. We all know we'll die one day but don't when and how. The path to death makes us feel completely different about life. What can we do ? Not really much.

I wonder the purpose of making money can be easily distorted and sometimes we tend to lose ourselves in pursuit of money, instead of happiness. Just a fleeting thought, no big deal.
I'd be surprised if nobody has ever felt this way. It is part of the process. What I feel is everyone should have a strategy to achieving financial freedom that doesn't entail giving up your life and that of your family. The strategy should incorporate work time, family time, social life, personal life etc It is the sensible thing to do.
I am one of the people who believe that the principle of health and the family is more important than achieving the dream of financial freedom,
Well not everyone thinks family is important especially when you grow up in a country where the culture favours individualism to communal living. You live for yourself alone. But I get the point though because have a family is one thing that makes life worthwhile.

Surely, everyone who's set their hearts and minds to a certain goal, be it financial freedom or anything really, will feel a sense of loss and confusion. I've experienced this as well most often during the early days of when I was working my ass of to get that paycheck and increase my overall net worth. I still feel it now sometimes. I've spoken to some people about it and a friend of mine, a really wise bloke if I do say so myself. Told me that it's something you feel when you've come so far from where you've started, you don't recognize the stuff you're in anymore. Think of it as someone who's walking a path that is never taken by anyone. At some point in the journey you'd be in a place that's never been charted by anyone, thus the place will look unfamiliar to you. This may cause you to feel some sort of loss in direction or whatnot, but you must take that step forward.

I embrace this your concepts, because its very obvious that health is the beginning of everything we seek, so therefore any of our financial pursuit most come to accomplished with good health, I believe that many people understand health the way we understood it, the one I really won't support fully is of the family, because a family problem is so ambiguous to the extent that it can not be solvable till infinity, so we need to be conscious of our health and with that we can achieve anything we need.

It's boring, having to keep buying something that can make our economy better, keep saving until the goal of financial freedom can be achieved, keep working when other people might prefer to take a vacation and spend their money to enjoy life, but are bored because they are focusing on achieving financial freedom is the price that must be paid before finally being able to relax and enjoy life, especially if we are born in a lower-middle class family that does not get many facilities to be able to achieve success, so everything is a choice and every choice there will be sacrifices.
That is life’s inevitable nature. You won’t achieve your goals and benefit it if you don’t work on it and sacrifice to make it happen. Sometimes, life is boring and we may lost thinking if this what it takes to enjoy financial freedom, but it’s a given fact that if you want to improve and change your life, then you have to strive hard for you to become successful. Achieving financial freedom is never easy and is stressful, but definitely its something that is worth working for so you can enjoy life to the fullest.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!

To make myself clear, this thread is not about complaint or confusion. Actually, I am more than fulfilled to chase my financial goals. This question only comes when I stop to think about the deep meaning of finance-free. Whether you are young or old, man or woman, money is what keeps you live and live well in the world. Being financial independent and sufficient is everyone's dream. However, have you thought about the losses in exchange for the material gains ? When you barely make ends meet, you'll bust yourself to make more money; when you actually make a lot of money, you'll find yourself in a position that is either stressful or boring. I wonder the purpose of making money can be easily distorted and sometimes we tend to lose ourselves in pursuit of money, instead of happiness. Just a fleeting thought, no big deal.
It is because of this that pursuing money should not be your main goal at all, without a doubt as you describe money is important and this is something that we learn from a very early age, however many people confuse pursuing money with happiness, they seem to believe that if they pursue money the they will live their dream life, but this is not true, as some of the most important things in our lives can not be bought,  so pursue your financial independence but never assume this is what it will bring you happiness.

Well, I think it depends on every individual's personal choices and ways of how they see and chase their dreams. It is true that we spend the most precious times of our lives in pursuit of money and wealth, and when we achieve that, we already have missed a lot of beautiful moments and times of our lives with our loved ones.

But, that's what a man has to do unless they inherit the wealth from their ancestors and live their lives only nurturing and increasing it so that they can live their life easier. We never have a lot of choices when it comes to either earning money or living our lives with our loved ones. We can barely choose the later since we have to earn to live life.

It depends on the person. But for me, I am willing to sacrifice some years of grind in order to acquire the goal of achieving financial freedom. I am a person that can't see myself as an 8-5 worker until I reach the age of retirement. Lately, I mostly devout most of my time at home trying to maximize my earnings so I can invest more before the next bull run. I still have a life though but it is not the same compared to the previous years when I travel constantly from place to place. I really hope that it will be worth the sacrifice and that I can achieve once again the goal of financial freedom after losing it some years ago.

There were times when I usually just don't want to keep money but instead just spend it. I get tired saving, investing, and overall just making money back then. But I realized, money runs everything; it pays for rent, keeps a roof above my head, pays for gas, and food of course. If I were to just stop making money, I would forfeit most of these in an instant and I will be living my life horribly. But yeah, good thing is, I got some motivation that I really needed to get going and here I am still, trying to make as much money as I can for myself and for an early retirement (hopefully).

As a man, I think most people will experience this feeling at least once in their life. Sometimes we feel tired, and bored with everything because we have to work all day to earn money.

Honestly, since I have a family, I have not had a minute to rest, even when I go to sleep, I have to think about how to make money, to be financially free...Sometimes I want to give up everything, but then I think about family, we live not only for ourselves but also for our loved ones. So we must never stop.

That's hard, but one of the causes of this is your job, I think, because it is not enough for you, like you cut it short every time payday comes, and for sure your work is stressful. You know you should prevent that because you'll have a mental breakdown soon. We are almost the same; I am chasing after money and I have a side hustle, so I don't have time for my family, though I have rest, but it is not enough to sustain us. But again, we have family to feed, so we should make them an inspiration to not quit.

You need to make this path comfortable for yourself, if you never rest and constantly think about how to make money, then this will not lead to anything good, since our nervous system must also rest.

Each of us has his own chapel, someone can withstand longer, someone less, but everyone has a limit. Therefore, it is very important that you have a rest, even in order to analyze whether you are doing everything right. Perhaps you need to reconsider something, perhaps you need to save less and spend more for a comfortable life.

Basically, all forms of investment that involve money have a high level of risk of losing money, especially when there is no knowledge about the investment you are making. While the bitcoin investment pattern has provided opportunities for everyone who wants to invest, regarding the problem of loss depending on how one can understand the investment pattern that is being carried out.

I wonder the purpose of making money can be easily distorted and sometimes we tend to lose ourselves in pursuit of money, instead of happiness. Just a fleeting thought, no big deal.
Acting beyond capacity often ignores instincts, unbalanced conditions that result in distortion should be the main thought to control a lower level of risk, you and anyone else will avoid losses when understanding the right way to invest, pursuing money and happiness are two things that are necessary considered to be more balanced, because both are real life that needs to be run and that's why balance is needed.

[Nope]No hype delivers more than hope
In essence, everyone wants everything to be "sufficient", but in reality everyone can give a different interpretation depending on their background, social conditions. For example, the older generation planning an inheritance for their children from an early age is a common thing that they think is more important than their own life, whereas today's generation is more pursuing a career for their own sake.

op, how do you understand financial freedom?
Ask yourself again before, because here I see many people discriminating them excessively.
freedom? How are you financially trapped and constrained, and what is the way out?
Sometimes I find the problem is not out there but in each of us, we can completely choose everything we know or want. And here maybe what I understand is that comfort is no longer a social problem, it's just that we don't feel right with ourselves, so I've learned to accept whatever happens. That freedom I no longer feel burdened by various adversities.
