So what is the general consensus for the new Rx cards?
More efficient to buy 470 or 480? As i see 470 doesn't do that much worse than 480, but it has lower power consumption and is cheaper?
And as a newbie i still havent figured out how this bios flashing goes, when i want to get better results, as i understand its not possible in windows?

advanced - change the gpu bios
normal - bring the voltage down (try until it crashes).  underclock the core clock if it lets you, overclock the mem clock if it lets you and set a custom fan profile to your liking.  i like trixx better than the asus one, but if you have an asus card maybe its better i havent much experience with it.  if it works, it works.

Would you mind sharing a custom BIOS ?
I've my 480 Flashed but i cannot find a nice bios for 470

This is because there is no reference specified by AMD for 470s - you may have different memory and then it may not work.

28MH @80 watts at the wall per card Cheesy I can get these suckers to go up to 29-30mh but this is rock solid stable and sips on power...run super cool at mid 50's with low fans. Took alot of bios modding but finally these Polaris dies are living up to expectations.

What are ur parameters ?

Parameters? I can tell that shit is custom - he's not one to use a crappy editor like Polaris BIOS Editor for anything but fixing checksums.

What kind of customization you have to do to have same hashrate ?

@Wolf0
great Work Smiley have you found VCDDI in the ROM?

lg

Of course - there's several places to set it, depending on state.

Or a global one  Wink

You know that one doesn't work for VDDCI with RX cards.

Haha, i knew this was coming :p

But it's not "completely" true.

For example: The Asus Strix ones they have (As a reference from The Stilt himself) MVDDC control, so basically adding the MVDDC/VDDCI-AUX global offset works perfectly on those Wink

:p

No shit? I gotta get me some!

yeah.. imagine giving that memory "directly" some extra mV's.. mmmm Wink

Hi guys, I am trying 4 days already to make my Asus rx470 rig working.
Rig configuration is following:
Intel G1840,
Asrock H81 Btc Pro,
6 x Asus Strix rx470,
LC Power 1200 V.2.4 Platinum,
8gb ddr3 HyperX 1866,
PCIe extenders with molex.

I succeed to make single card to hash between 25-26mhs, but whole rig (6 cards) is totaly unstable with any configuration I tried. I used Polaris Bios editor to change bios,I copied values from 1425,1500, 1625 strings to columns above. But cards not working stable. I tried different drivers,OS is win 10 Professional, 64 bit, Dual miner - Claymore. For changing memory and gpu core settings i used WattTool, tried with some suggested settings for different rx470 models with Hynix memory from this thread, but without success.
If someone made Asus Rx470 rig working good, please left configuration here or send it to PM.

Thanks in advance.

Guys im having some problems getting windows 10 detecting my 4 asus 470  Sad it only detects 3 no matter what i do

Besides that im having some problems too with the hashrate, 1 of the 3 cards its getting really low hashrate, any suggestion?

I hadnt touched anything on any cards (bios, voltages or anything)

Im using lastest version of claymore (7.0)

https://www.mediafire.com/?1z0bm9n3uvajrxe

https://www.mediafire.com/?22evbb4cmjle4o8

Im running this on a Gigabyte AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gbps USB 3.0 ATX AM3+ Socket DDR3 1600 + AMD FX 4-Core Black Edition FX-4300 with EVGA 1000GQ, 80+ GOLD 1000W, Semi Modular, EVGA ECO Mode, 5 Year Warranty, Power Supply 210-GQ-1000-V1

I really appreciate it any suggestion

I had the same issue... uninstall all the graphic card driver reinstall and it should work.

Not detecting issue are usually due to insufficient power supply either to the cards or the boards are not providing enough.

With hdmi connected to monitor everything works.  I was able to use gpu tweak II and/or msi afterburn to adjust clock settings and I was able to get near 22 eth only with even less watts.  When I unplug the hdmi I have no idea what the settings are being used, have to assume stock, but I can live with the 20.7.  Without being conntected to monitor Gpu tweak won't recognize the card, but windows 7 list it as asus rx 470.  Afterburn recognizes the card, shows 0 data and if it you fill in the settings it, goes right back to 0.  GPU-z at least lets me know fan is working and how much power is being used.  I'ts running, but I'd rather be able to run it harder, but not until I can monitor temps. I think I'm going to order a hdmi emulator if no one here has a better solution to try.

I have this card in my magic interweb box as why I don't leave hdmi plugged in, I had an open 16x pci slot and retired the last of my rockminers, at the halving thus freeing up power to use.  I have not tried modifying bios yet, but I plan to after I educate myself on that task.

In claymores latest release it does mention in the read me file under faq section:
"- Why miner does not show temperatures for RX 480 cards?
They use newer overdrive API which is not yet published by AMD."
I assume it applies to the 470's as well, but when hdmi was connected in claymores 6.4 displayed both temp and fan speed.

Anyone using asus 470 rx strix 4 gb? Which settings are you using on your cards in wattman?

Thanks for any suggestion! Cheesy

in this thread page 5 there are two different settings post for the strix.

On another note, I still can't seem to find driver/software combination that will allow me to see temp and change the settings without a monitor physically attached.  With hdmi to a tv I was able to use both above mentioned settings with good results, though right now I am running headless, I don't know what settings are being used and have stable hash of 20.7 eth/ 310.6 sia.  Claymore is not seeing temps, gpu-z doesn't see temp, but fan 59% 1730 RPM, Gpu load 100% and GPU Power draw @ 90-98 W while I've been typing.

Thanks man will look that
