Hi fellows,

I have a Asus Strix RX470 8GB micron chip and I am using it to mining.
Without any mod (stock values) to the Graphic card i had 17MHs (ETH).
After a few changes in WattTool I had 22MHs (+-117w) , image (http://imgur.com/a/E0TAz ).I had tryed alot of configurations with WattTool but this one seems the most stable.

I tryed to flash the Graphic Card Bios with ATI software but after all the tries the WattTool and TechPowerUp can not read all the values, I assume that something is not correct and back to original bios.

Now the question is, How can some people have more than 25MHs in this graphic card?
Can somebody help me?

Thanks a lot
Tiago

Somebody have an idea?

First of all make sure you are using bios exactly for the card you have (brand, model, memory size, memory brand).

Yes, I am using exactly the bios from factory and than change in the Polaris editor.
I am stuck with this

Guys i'am modding my first msi 470 4gb with hynix memory, stock 20.5 Mh/s on eth , after mod bios with 1500 value to 1625-1750-2000 i do 23.2 Mh/s but the guide result say about 26 without OC, is normal this low result? anyone has this gpu with hynix?

that's quite a username you chose there

guys i have very strange problem with my new(3) msi 470 4gb Samsung memory, i modded the bios changing the straps 1750 to 1900 and 2000 but after flash the hashrate it's the SAME, i opened the new modded bios and all are ok but is like i have original straps with same hashing but the modded bios is flashed ok.
How possible? Anyone know what to do?
Thanks

gpuz power usage is the chip only, and you have other components that use power, memory, etc.

I hope someone have time to reply Smiley

What is usual consuption from wall for rx 470 sapphire nitro 4g?

I have these readings:

pow (power usage fro wall)

- 30 pow without GPU
- 42 pow with 1 GPU
- 55 pow with 2 GPU
- 159 pow with 1 GPU 100% mining ETH only
- 295 pow with 2 GPU 100% mining ETH only.

So, as i see from wall i have 117w from wall for GPU 1 and 136w for GPU2 with:

GPU1 1105core/2050mem @ 910mv - 910mv with temp of 47 celsius with 60+fan speed with 27.400MH/s.

GPU2 1090core/2040mem @ 900mv - 900mv with temp of 48 celsius with 60+fan speed with 27.700MH/s.

So 295-300w for whole system at wall with 2GPU.

All GPU does not have any error in hwinfo.

Questions:

1. why GPU show 70-75w usage, when on wall device show 117. Almost 40w diference? For GPU2 is even more, about 50w.

2. what is average power consumption for RX 470?

3. GPUs are stabile, system is stabile, is these OC settings good. How to know for sure? For eg. did i set to low volt options?

i know its an old topic.

but I want to know..if one sees litecoin that uses scrypt algo mining with an rx 470 @ 25mh/sec
is it safe to assume it will mine another coin using scrypt algo also at more or less 25mh/sec? and if the coin is at kh/sec that means 25000kh/sec?

use looser straps and clock mem higher.  errors are fine unless you get a shit ton.

The elpidas on my 570's also hang above ~1860mhz  (or blackscreen if you have a monitor connected)

Just reduce the frequency. Every graphics is different.

Got some RX470 4G Nitro+ with Elpida memory on 'em.

strapped 1500 all the way to 2000. The max I can overclock the memory is around 1850-1875. Above that, memory errors will start to show in hwinfo. Not sure why everyone is saying Elpida is great tbh. With hynix memory I can O/C the memory past 2000 without any hardware errors.

Quite disappointed with those Elpidas :-/

In practice some memory errors aren't a deal breaker. I run my Elpida's at 1925 and though they do generate some memory errors in HWMonitor, they hash just fine, and pool rate matches reported. And they are just a notch below my Hynix cards in terms of overclockability, and still better than samsungs.

Well it depends on what you call "some" I guess. If it's like 100 over an entire day of mining, it's alright. But so far it was like 5 errors per second. Still trying to find the best timings on those cards. Seems like they are OK hashing at 27.6MH/s without errors with 1375 timing and memory at 1895mhz. As soon as I break the 1900 barrier they start throwing a lot of errors.

Hey guys, I'm wondering what 470 4 gig or 480 4 gig cards people are buying these days.  I have a few 470's I had ages ago but everywhere I search these days they are out of stock or no longer selling them.  I'm in the process
of setting up a 6 card system and just wanted some advice on current cards you can buy from Amazon or NewEgg that get anywhere in the range of 27-29 depending on card.

Yes this thread has a lot of posts but most pointing to cards you cannot get anymore.

Cheers!

You can buy the 570/580 if you can get hold of them.

I recently just got 6 MSI ARMOR 470 4GBs with samsung memory and a tb250-btc. 1200w hp server psu(for cards) and a 600w(for mobo and risers). Currently getting 28.5 steady on claymore 9 on smOS. Eth only. Stock bios other than 1625 copied on up. Memory currently at 2025 and power level 5. Steady 170mhs (28.3-28.5 per card)
