Not sure why my 4GB Sapphire Nitro+ won't mine it .. as many people mine with 4GB or less ... weird.

Did you follow his instructions for setting up the environment variables to use all the memory available?

I have 2 Radeon RX 470 cards, a 4GB and an 8GB one.

The 4GB one refuses to mine, saying it has insufficient memory when I load ethminer-0.9.41-genoil-1.1.7

The 8GB one mines (DaggerHashimoto) ETH at 23MH/s.

My card is the Sapphire RX 470 Nitro+ OC 8GB, mem clock speed is at 2000 MHz, Core clock 1260 MHz.

Have you measured power consumption?

Try claymore miner and see if it works, people seem to use claymore without issue.

Do we have any follow up numbers for ETH hash rates and power consumption?  How does this card stack up with the RX480 and the GTX1060?

If the BIOS is locked and we cannot overclock the memory frequency to 2000 MHz or higher, it is not a ideal card.

just tested the new XFX RX470 4G
Core/Mem: 1206/1750

ETH:  21-22M/140w

What?? My RX 480 does 24.5 at around 90-100W.. a properly tuned RX 470 should do 21-22 at around 70-80W.

Based on all existing RX470 threads, I haven't seen any tuning done yet. The standard out of the box clock rates are doing good at least with TDP not exceeding the basic limits of the 6 pin and PCIe

The Rx480 4gb was suppose to be $200 USD. Highly doubt we will get the Rx470 for under $200 USD>

$200 is only for reference, and we won't see it in huge amounts because it's a locked 8GB version.

True aftermarket 4GB RX 480 will cost $220-230.

The pricing for RX 470 is ridiculous now, the logic of sellers must be "it's as fast as RX 480 so it will cost the same".

Yea they are taking all the shitty 480 dies that didn't make the cut, repacking them into a 470 with crappier components/memory and charging the same cost....ridiculous.

I've read the MSRP for the RX 470 is going to be below $200, one source said perhaps as low as $150-160, but with the high demand resellers most likely will jack up prices.
