Never received because I don't think this is possible to receive accidentally Bitcoins without having some previous interactions with sender. This is beauty of bitcoin that all addresses are unique and if you change few letters you simply can't complete the transaction. I don't think ever will receive too this is hard to believe if someone claims too.

I have never had this happen and it seem very unlikely to receive bitcoins accidentally because of the almost infinite number of addresses. What seems more likely is sending bitcoins to the wrong address which may not be used or may never be used. Those bitcoins are most likely lost forever because the address doesn't belong to anyone.

As of now I haven't received btc on my wallet. To be frank I'm waiting for that,  Grin someone would accidentally send 20btc, they can't trace you and it's not your fault to receive such amount because it's their negligence. Just be thankful for the blessings. Smiley

If somebody just accidentaly send you BTC, then its their own fault. You cant blame yourself that you are the one who sinned. You cannot track the owner of that address. If you received 1 BTC then if you want to give it back, then give it back. But if you want to send him a thankyou message, send him/her maybe half or some portion of it. But its your own decision. You know what to do.

I have always thought about that but it has never happened to me.
I do not think that I ever have received random Bitcoin by someone and I do not think that the chance of it happening is big.
If it would happen then I would be pretty lucky and I would sell them right away.

i am don(ripper's big daddy).i clean scammers.
not really and its almost impossible because people don't put btc address manually while sending someone but they just copy and past btc address given by someone, site...etc.and btc address is hard to write or rewrite.
so mistake is null here.

has it ever happened to u that u just had ur wallet opened and suddenly some BTC arrived out of nowhere?

like someone sent it to the wrong address or something?

like suddenly 0.3777 BTC are rolling in but u don't know who sent it, why it was sent and what it is all about?

~CfA~

Seems difficult that this happen for me. The bitcoin addresses are to long and complicated to be able to happen this thing. You must find from where these bitcoins are arrived and will find that are your money of gift from someone who love you. But not from nowhere or randomly.

Young but I'm not that bold
it happens with me before once. I received my signature weekly payment twice in one week and when I told bitmixer, they told me I can keep it because it is their robot mistake. it was really something nice from them Grin

Nope, but I have had someone from LBC put money into my bank account, about $1500 USD at the time was about £1100 but could never find out who it was, I asked on forums and all and even asked my bank to reverse but they said they couldnt, I even asked my bank for sort-code/account number of that person, similar to BIC/SWIFT but they couldn't tell me because of data protection. No way for me to send the money back really.

So I spent it on a Holiday to Spain Smiley I tried my very best to get it back to them though. I guess they clicked the wrong contact when paying someone else.

Fun topic, although I never received any random BTC.  I tend to give more than receive, so many of my friends have received from me, sometimes as a surprise.

Interesting about the ads --  I wonder if after the Halving, it will become cost-ineffective to send.

I guess they could just line up in the low fee queue, since they are not time-sensitive, but they were probably able to push them thru with no tx fees in the past.

I got a small amount just last week of 0.000257btc nothing to write home about but enough to post on this topic.

It looks like an amount from a faucet but I have stopped doing those months ago, so not too sure where it came from to be honest.  Embarrassed

If you have no idea where it really came from and the sender has no idea too if he sent to the right address, then why get sad?
You should be happy at least, that's better than nothing.  Wink

No for me it never happened. You are lucky so without doing any work you got approximately 0.4BTC it is big amount now. But how it happened you received to your bitcoin address or any other site account. Because if you received to site address means it will happen by mistake but to Bitcoin address how without having your address how can they send right.
