Have you ever been scammed? And what will you do if your bitcoin get scammed?

Few years ago, it seemed to be the beginning of 2013, I did not remember clearly, I've ever been scammed for nearly 20 BTC, I funded a gambling site, my account got frozen without any reason few hours after I funded.

I could do nothing except crying.

If you have been scammed, just grit your teeth and move on.
In the Bitcoin world, the wisest thing to do is avoid risky investments. Recovery will almost always be next to nothing.

I think majority of the users here got scammed bitcoin before. When I was starting bitcoin, i got scammed a few times. What did I do? Move on! I learned from my mistakes. Before I enter into a new investments, I conduct a thorough research to avoid being scam. I also ask some members of the investment sites about their first hand experience on it.

You lead and I'll watch you walk away.
The same thing everyone on this forum does when they get scammed.

Piss and moan like an impotent jerk all over the forum while simultaneously calling every government agency I can think of to ask for help getting back my anti-government unregulated money.

I have been cheated, everything happened just because of greediness to earn more. Later on realized the drawback of being greedy. I lost more than a single bitcoin investing into worthless schemes believing that it gives good return. Even if the profiting is low it's good to find the legitimate investment site and then invest.

I've never been scammed, just because I'm very wary with all transactions (although I appreciate that that isn't always enough).

It sounds weird, but while you're more likely to get scammed with Bitcoin, you're so much better off if you are that it doesn't matter.  With fiat, if you get scammed the chances are the scammer has your personal information, possibly even your credit card details, and who knows what they're going to do with that.  With Bitcoin, if you get scammed, it's just:  your money's gone.  That's a shame.  Time to make some more.

Yes I had been scammed, by cloud mining, by ponzi and by people, that is why I never trust cloud mining, ponzi and be really careful to do transaction with stranger, there is not much you can do, just learn from mistake and accept that my bitcoin is gone forever since bitcoin is not legal and it is hard to tracked the scammer identity

Yeah, I got scammed last year by some asshole who thought he needed the money more than I did.  Not much I could do about it, and I ought to have known better than to give a no-collateral loan to someone on this forum.  Ooops.

I learned my lesson and haven't lent anyone money since.  'Twas an expensive lesson, but it could have been much worse.

I don’t care
Uhm no. Actually, I've been scammed once for $50 BTC, but I doxed the guy, found out he was on a forum (I was member of that forum as well), exposed him as a scammer and destroyed his reputation, then he decided to pay me back. The guy was literally desperate.

Since the bitcoin transactions are irreversible, unless you got the identity of the person who scammed you, nothing much you can do. Even if you have his/her identity, you should be able to prove that you are scammed by that person. Yes, it usually ends up bad.

Try to explain your situation to the police they'll look at you as they see an alien.   Grin
