Just as the title has expressed it all, and I would want to know how important and very necessary we have been taking our gambling habit serious. Like our overall performance, behavior attitudes and environmental impact of our gambling behaviors;
such as what people says about you, how your family talks about you or are you gradually becoming a problems to your family?
Or are you finding yourself not to stay without gambling for 4-10 hrs per day, weeks and so on?
Are you having less time for other activities whereby giving your work less priority and making gambling your utmost importance than your work and home?
If yes then it's imperatively to narrow down your eagerness, and activeness towards gambling as you have already fallen into addiction and if you find yourself into this conditions then you need to reduced.
What to do;
- Always get engaged with other important works, or even gets more attention to your children/wife or Husband and family members within, with this there is less chances of you becoming addicted to gambling
- Get an allocation of funds to gamble1. I mentioned this on my other topic created before, when the funds are exhausted do not use any other funds to gamble till the months ends
- Do not budget of hitting millions or billions through gambling, just be positive and gamble with expectations to hit anyone it could be higher or lesser.
- Give much priority to your work and field of study than gambling
This is the only way we can control addiction by regular releasing post like this for people to learn and make their corrections. You can add your let the discussion continue.
I don't think many people realize how subtle the shift is from simple complacency to something that dominates their time and mental energy. For others, one approach that works is having tough deadlines and having to live within limited financial capabilities. The same applies to limiting one's use of social media. For example, if one finds himself spending several hours each day gambling. Scheduling or scheduling other activities Regular sessions of gambling can help break that cycle. It's also helpful to reflect regularly, such as asking questions like: "Is my gambling interfering with my relationships or career?" or "Do I gamble to escape stress or boredom?" can quickly draw attention to healthy patterns. Gambling can be fun and entertaining. But it's good to keep it under control and be honest with ourselves about the impact it's having on our lives.
Wife are less likely to end up become an addict, they're more likely cheat with other people. For husband, they're forced to work and make money as much as possible, this is why many men fall into gambling addict.
I feel sorry for those husbands who work while their wives are having fun on the side.
Here I support the OP. To avoid such incidents with cheating, families should always have time for rest, for joint rest. In such cases, wives will not allow their husbands to acquire a gambling addiction, controlling the process, and husbands will not put on "horns.".
But seriously, the topic of the OP carries the idea of how not to get sick with gambling addiction. But unfortunately, many people do not learn from the mistakes of others and do not read the warnings. There is a need for money, or greed is present; these are the factors that drag people into the hole. Understanding that gambling is fun is difficult for those who are at a lower level of their financial situation, unfortunately.
I do concur with you on the issue of family balance and time spent together. It might save the situation from getting worse emotionally and financially. Many addictions to gambling arise from a deep need for something within their lives. It could be financial stress or even boredom. Open communication and quality time spent from day one helps in preventing such problems in families.
You are right that the more desperate a person becomes due to dire financial struggles, the more dangerous it is. It ceases being fun and becomes a selfish attempt at changing their situation. That is why education regarding responsible gambling and risk perception is all the more important. It applies especially to those in unsafe positions. We have to help every gambler learn how to regard gambling merely as a pastime and not try it as a solution to financial solutions. Freely discussable issues are those that we can attempt to help others notice the signs before it gets too late.
