I think I would try using Bitcoin ATM, just to get familiar with the process and see how fast and convenient everything will go. But I think I wont be using it on a regular basis. The stories of high fees are pushing me away from using Bitcoin ATM, and p2p so far is the more profitable way. Also the possible KYC in Bitcoin ATM prevents me from using it. Third reason would be lack of cash. I nearly dont carry cash at all. I've got few tens just for emergency case, and use card everywhere.

#SWGT PRE-SALE IS LIVE
Likewise myself, I would like to use Bitcoin ATM too because it shows that the people living in that particular region where the Bitcoin ATM is available or situated has high number of Bitcoin investors and adopters who are always ready to use it.
You are of course very lucky to be able to try it, because indeed there is an ATM in your area, but where I am it is still a separate ban and doesn't exist yet, because direct transactions with bitcoin are not yet recognized.

I have seen some of the Bitcoin ATM online and I have been longing to use one at least in my lifetime so that I can share my experience with people on what it looks like operating it. Jurs like the normal fiat ATM machine that we have,
of course there is a desire to be able to try using a bitcoin ATM because it will be different from ATM fiat in general, although maybe the transactions may be the same. but there is a distinct sensation of being able to use a bitcoin ATM, like you said of course this will be an experience in itself.

I hope the Bitcoin ATM machine will not be easily hacked where users can lose there secret codes that can lead to the disappearance of there funds.
as often happens with fiat ATMs, of course we hope that bitcoin ATMs can't happen in the same situation, because of course this is something that is very feared and it will be difficult to track down what happens in the event of a hack, when compared to fiat ATMs. it is possible that all of the funds at bitcoin ATMs will be lost, but not with fiat, it is certain that there are restrictions for each withdrawal.

Bitcoin should make our life easier. The example you gave really helps. When you go to another country, you can use the Bitcoin ATM as if you were shopping from your own market. It's great to have such an opportunity. Considering that these ATMs are in many parts of the world, it makes our life even easier. It can be very useful if an adjustment is made to the fee charged for the transaction made at ATMs.

Everything will be much better when it is started to be used in stores as well. We need time for these to happen. We know that time passes very quickly. This is good news.

Yeah, it takes some time for people to adopt new things.

Even with bank cards it took some years for people start to use them, similar to online shopping as it was possible in the late 90s already, but not many people did it back then.

We'll see how it goes, specially with lightning, it will make everything easier. It's just money in the end.

Eloncoin.org - Mars, here we come!
I've seen them pop up all around me, in small convenience stores and even restaurants. I was wondering if it's a good option to buy a gift for someone else, or are the fees too high and it's not worth it? Also I'm not sure how it works but figuring they give you a private key, and how safe is that?

I wish we would have bitcoin atms in my country too. I would definitely love to use them.
But unfortunately it seems a distant dream.
Though with crypto you don't really need atm because the very purpose of crypto is using digital forms to tranfer money.
We can always use our mobile for paying with crypto and it is a great convinence.

If given a chance to use ATM of Bitcoin? I will never deny myself from giving it a try as I am looking and praying that there will be one available in my city or at least somewhere near me but till now there is only ATM machine far from my location and has nothing to do for going there.

maybe you have all the option to accumulate bitcoin that is why you can decide which one to use but me? I will surely use Bitcoin ATM once there is one that available in my part, lucky for all of you that has a chance and a way to use one.
This is dream of every bitcoiner he used this ATM but sadly many judiciaries and areas are not allowed to have this as I personally love to use this bitcoin ATM because now after falling in love with bitcoin things looking much better and most chances bans and restrictions are not going to have any impact on this in near future.

In our country now central government announced about own digital currency which is surely going to be had good chance for the peoples in this country hopefully they will also bring better policies for the bitcoin and its more use around the country because now we are in top ten countries those are having adoption and things are looking positive for this all.

there is a Bitcoin ATM near my Office back in 2017 but I am not lucky to even use it because those time I am still in struggle and also starting to learn and earn about crypto so basically i did not trust the machine back then.

but now as I tried to come back and check? it was uninstalled and cannot find where it was relocated .

Finally , a group mate just advised there is a New installed Bitcoin ATM in the next street and yes I will check it tomorrow and hope that this is functional already as I missed using a machine for couple of years now.

Yeah, I think the best use case for Bitcoin ATMs are actually when you are traveling to another country.

I don't think a local ATM would be too useful, as you would be able to get a cheaper rate at your local exchange.

I see Bitcoin ATMs as convenience shops, you just get some fiat from the country you are visiting, without any banks involved.
It is highly logical and indeed accurate. By bypassing the involvement of banks to withdraw money from a BATM (Bitcoin ATM), Bitcoin users can greatly benefit, especially when vacationing in countries where BATMs are available. This provides a solution for countries that prohibit Bitcoin transactions, as BATMs allow Bitcoin owners to instantly exchange their Bitcoin for local currency and promptly engage in transactions with local sellers.

In my country, Bitcoin is not permitted to replace the presence of FIAT (for in-store transactions), but buying and selling Bitcoin is allowed. I believe this situation calls for the presence of Bitcoin ATMs.

I don't know if it's same like the normal ATM machine because there's no bitcoin ATM in my country yet, but I'll love to use one in the near future and I hope it becomes widely adopted in my country so it would prompt installation of the bitcoin machines, I live in an urban area so I think it wouldn't be difficult to locate when its finally adopted in my country because there's a current ban on Cryptocurrency that's made average people see bitcoin as an agenda for scam but hopefully the newly elected government would uplift the ban making more people to adopt the use of bitcoin in other words creating an opportunity for the installation of bitcoin ATMs in malls, banks and several locations.
However, OP I'm trying to figure out if in your next statement you're talkinv about tendering bitcoin as a means of gift for birthdays or ceremony, yes of course a gift can be any valuable item including bitcoin however not everyone would be very familiar or know how to operate the bitcoin ATM and there are other challenges like distance also so it would be faster and easier to use exchanges to send bitcoin as gifts to friends and family l

at least you both are supporting each other with the same manner and the same stand , are you also a broker?

Bitcoin ATM has too high fees, i will never use it. p2p is much better way

remember that there are many of us that does not know exactly how to use p2p and have no idea of best safe p2p program so having physical capacity like Bitcoin ATM is a best way still to circulate bitcoin.

That's right, even though I've never used it, there are many news that transactions are quite expensive.  This becomes one of the weaknesses that may hinder. Even though there is currently LN but it has not been able to overcome the network density that occurs. Maybe more people use Pay Pal as a transaction tool because it has been recognized in the world. But I am quite amazed by the rapid development of the number of ATMs, especially in the United States.

For now I have never owned or used a bitcoin ATM because there is no bitcoin ATM machine in my location. However, if it is an area where bitcoin ATMs are available, and you are interested in using a Bitcoin ATM, it is advisable to do more research about Bitcoin ATM operators in your area, look at the fees involved, and consider the necessary safety factors before making a decision.

Well, I am from Nigeria, and I've never seen a bitcoin atm in the physical before, if there be any in my country, none have appeared in my area or placed I've lived or visited, so clearly, I do not have any idea how they operate or what the fees are like...

But what I can say is this, I am a very curious person and if I see a bitcoin atm around  me, I definitely will want to know how it works and also what the fee is like, and to achieve this, I will try to carry out a transaction on the atm, I believe there must be an option to cancel a transaction just incase one changes his or her mind in the middle of it, so upon confirming to send the transaction, if I discover the fee is too much, I will simply cancel the transaction and leave, at least, I've had an experience of how the atm works.

Not your keys, not your coins!
Because ATM would work like cash is it? Maybe instead of ATMs like banks do have, crypto exchanges could just put up a machine where users can do transactions with hard wallets. People then are able to buy, sell, and transfer funds and coins more conveniently. I believe Binance already does have cards where it is easier to transact because of the QR code and chip attached to it.
If governments can bring troubles to ATM manufacturers and operators with their regulations, they can do the same with whatever machines from cryptocurrency exchanges. They might not do it when cryptocurrency exchanges launch those machines but they will tighten their regulations after observing a while.

Do you think Binance can do everything out of laws when they are a centralized exchange?

They have to withdraw their business operations from many countries latest months and if you did not miss those news.

You pay for convenience.

Imagine a supermarket being an exchange and a convenience store being an ATM.

Sometimes it might be useful to have an ATM when visiting a foreign country for a bit, say to get a bit of their local cash with Bitcoin, without needing any banks.

Does that mean that the tangible Bitcoin as a Coin will also be counted on its circulation? Because ATM would work like cash is it? Maybe instead of ATMs like banks do have, crypto exchanges could just put up a machine where users can do transactions with hard wallets.
