So I've decided that once a month I'll be using my own method for generating funds to invest in altcoins.

I call it having a "Ramen Week".

For the last week instead of cooking or eating out, I've made Ramen for dinner.
I saved $97!
With the "savings", I bought altcoins.
Altcoins that now total up to $873 in value. Grin

I could lose it all and it would bother me one bit, because that initial investment of $97 would of just ended up toilet.

Anyone else wanna try having a Ramen Week?
Wow,then what happened to your health?as we know ramen is not a good meal for healthy living,do you think the savings youve got is enough for hospitalization?
I think instead of keeping money and eat unhealthy foods why not limit your foods,if you can eat 2 pounds of meat per meal the make it 1 pound

yes quiet good reduce the amount of food that you eat for investing. But you should look out your healthy. Dont just because you wanted to invest more make you have to pay for medical issue cause eating too much ramen. I would try doing it but im not going to eat ramen. I think i would buy more pundi x and hold it for long term.

It's working out really well for me,  I'd like to invite you all to...

Ramen Week Round 3! Starting June 3rd.
It's going to be the toughest one yet.
This time I'm converting my family to Ramen Week in hopes of saving $120 on food for 7 days.

I'm taking a break from ramen since I've got the family in on this one.
I've already purchased the food for the week:
-Rice Vermicelli
-Vegetables
-Boneless Chicken Breast(portioned out and frozen)
-Ground Beef(portioned out and frozen)
-Salad
-Milk
Total cost:$35
Total Savings: $120
Goal: at least 0.2 BTC return within 2 weeks.
The Plan: I've been day trading my ramen week funds using several new POS coins and want to continue.
Right now two of the coins are in a bit of a slump, which is perfect for me to invest.
They are both still more expensive than on weeks 1 or 2, but I'm hoping to see at least 14x through aggressive day trading and arbitrage.

Past Ramen Weeks:
Ramen Week Round 1:
Saved $97 on food for 7 days, and bought altcoins
Altcoin value turned into 1.2 BTC

Ramen Week Round 2:
Saved $65 on food for 7 days, and bought altcoins
Altcoin values turned into 0.65 BTC

Pulled 1 BTC out, and left the rest in altcoins to see where is goes.

To anyone wanting to plan a Ramen Week:

-Research new coins!  This is the perfect type of funding to put into a new high risk coin.
-Look for coins that have low cost, but high volume./
-Check out the block explorers, on new coins that have big whales you can expect to see a dump when the price doubles.
-Don't rule out POS coins.  Anything you don't sell, you can stake.  On one coin, I now pull in about 0.004 BTC every day just from stakes.
-Set a time period where you plan to take out your initial investment.  You could continue to risk it all, or just risk everything that was basically free.
-Don't let FUD or FOMO get in your way.  They are your friends, they don't frighten you.  This money was garbage to begin with.

Having another Ramen Week!
I found some POS altcoins I'm going to be grabbing with my "savings" lol.

My last Ramen week turned into 1.2 BTC, it was quite a lucky one!

You could do the same thing with pretty much anything. Like cutting out buying clothes, games, whatever. I mean this is literally just saving money. Grin

But hey, what's important is that it works.

How did you decide what altcoins to buy? I assume you bought more volatile ones?

I'm considering doing this, as a college student I don't even eat a lot anyway so. Grin

I do a ton of research and pick projects I think will grow.
A couple of key points that help when evaluating new coins is to look at similar projects and check out their value, circulating supply, and dev activity.
It doesn't hurt if you can read, understand, and compile the source code.

I like to get in alts when they are just released.
If I can get them for 1 satoshi then the value can either go to zero or up.

Haha, that's something cool I guess. It could be best way for managing your money. I mean we can save up money which we are spending on the unwanted things and which we could end up spending on best altcoins in the market. Sometimes we might hit best altcoin that might change our portfolio to something extraordinary.

So it's worth having Ramen week and save on the outside food. Also that food can just get flushed to the toilet next day but if you got lucky and hit the jackpot coin then we may just have hundreds of dinner outside. Haha.

Ramen weeks? It's a very interesting idea, and I think I'll follow your point of view. I also want to create a ramen week, so that the savings can be more invested in cryptocurrency.

I think ramen every week is not good in our health.too much sodium in our body it can cause a kidney stones.  I suggest you healthy foods like bananas apple any kind of fruits that can make your body's healthy.

Ramen weeks? I have had ramen months (back home we just call it Maggi meals or instant noodle diets). They can actually be more expensive than eating healthy meals, as we found out. Cook rice and fresh vegetables with a share of eggs for protein and you actually beat the budget without resorting to noodles. Maybe it is different in Asia though, as I know in Europe food is expensive and ramen tastes like heaven to you foreign people.

$100 savings in a week is a hell lot of money though. I suppose no harm to do this diet for a month and invest savings into 4 nice altcoins.

Don't spoil your health! Better find a part-time job and earned money to invest in cryptocurrency. It will be the best solution to the problem.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.  If you just ate ramen in a week, you might be able to lose weight which is good if you are fatter and needs to be healthier.  Its probably a good habit to do after all you won't die if you just do it in a week. I'm just not ready to do it myself but I think this is a good practise, you save some money and make yourself healthy.
It needn't be Ramen (although they can be wholesome  with the right ingredients).   Its just a placeholder for saving money with fast and cheap "cooking" and do other money saving things for one week Smiley
A great thread, that reminds us, how we can make crypto money with little effort in a short time.
Quitting smoking, as The Pharmacist did, could get new power of success with the idea, to put the saved money into cryptos.
I will definitely try the "Ramen week".

I already save on gas when I have to time to walk/jog.  With the weather, It's just not a predictable or reliable as adjusting my diet.
I really like the idea of putting those savings into crypto too.

Sticking with the ramen idea for now as I have a case to get through.
I hope next month is as good as this one was!

You may be saving money by eating Ramen noodles everyday but when you end up with health problems, your medical bills will be much higher than what you saved on eating real meals.  Money can't buy health, if it did, rich people would live forever.

I just thought of another good way for OP to save money. If he lives next to the grocery, he can walk / jog instead of driving. He can use the saved gas money to buy crypto every month.

Exercise like that also saves his health and lengthens his life Smiley

Medical bills are only a problem if you go to doctors. Tongue
I don't want to live forever and having someone wiping my ass when I'm 90.

I'm not advocating eating off the Mcdonalds dollar menu.
What I'm doing is just running my engine off of low octane fuel for a bit every so often.
Substitute Ramen with a cup or rice, a salad, or wild caught fish...as long as it saves money for that 1 week a month.

You can do that for a week but not for life. That is a good intention to cut down expenses for an investment but your health is at risk when you continue this kind on mentality. I know you can earn a lot when you are healthy so consider having good foods, also not those expensive foods. Good food, Good life.
