We try as much as possible to separate gambling from earned Money in as much as it will be a big risk to have such possible scenario where you get carried away to gamble away whatever resource that is available at hand,any of the times gambling requeirs a high level of decipline which have to do with how well you manage ypur spending while gambling and that take us back to what the user in the first comment said about using a small percentage of total income on gambling and that has to do with as low as 5% which is small eneogh not to affect your entire balance.

So for that, it is very important to have a source of income but then we shouldn't rely on that so much that it will end inflicting our overall balance in savings, so let set every in it place in other not to use the funds meant for your other lofe responsibilities.

Having a steady income helps the gambler not to bother anybody about money, while gambling. Even if he loses, he has some expectation of more money in few days. Hence, his struggle, in addiction, wouldn't be as injurious, as that of a gambler who depends on other people for money to gamble. Though the risk of losing out in the source of income is there, the gambler could perform lowly in his business. Because of his gambling behavior, depending on how he prepares his mind, may fail to focus more in doing the right things in the business. Having a steady income, has its advantages, but doesn't safeguard a gambler from getting compulsive. So, gamblers whether earning or not, still have to take seriously their emotional stability not to be left behind in the chaos of addiction.

I am yet to get the correlation between winning big in gambling and having a steady flow of income. These two are different and shouldn’t be intertwined with one another. Gambling game is base on luck and if you’re not lucky, you would have the whole money in the world put into it and you won’t have any positive results. So also, your source of income is just a determinant to tell how much money you can sacrifice and put into gambling, but not a guarantee to win big in gambling.

a family needs to have a job to support his family. all the rest of the extra money are the ones he can use to gamble and with that, he won't worry about losing that extra money since he has a source of income, no pressure for him while gambling and he can think clearly as well.

I agree more about regular than steady. I mean: there are people for example salesman who have a fluctuating income but get paid every month. Normally what they get every month is the base salary plus commissions. The commissions are irregular and can mean they get paid a lot one month and little in others. To this must be added possible bonuses at the end of the year or at the end of the semester. Therefore, this type of workers do not have a problem if they want to gamble or other activities because of their fluctuating income.

It is important to be regular, that is to say that they get paid every month or every two weeks, whatever it is. Someone who has a three-month contract, then becomes unemployed and takes a long time to find a job should not gamble, but unfortunately there are people in that situation who see a way out of their shitty situation in gambling and usually what they do is make it worse.

I really like what you said here because many people here only consider gambling as source of entertainment while there’s a lot of option to make you entertain without spending money on gambling if you are really not capable. Gambling is not the only activity that we can do if we are bored. In fact, I only gamble when I don’t have any friend to hangout while I still have free money left from my salary that I don’t have any allocation.

Gambling is not everything. Even with good source of income gambling will make you miserable once you lose so what’s more if you really can’t afford but you insist to play just because you become gullible due to your greediness.

Let me tell you the other way, you should not gamble at all if you don't have a steady income. If you are gambling because you have financial requirements then you are doing it in the wrong way, it will just worsen your situation than doing anything.

I am a person who has a monthly stable salary and I remember I gambled all my salary and lost it. No matter how much you make, when you are on a gambling table, it won't take too long to lose everything. Luck always does not fever to everyone. A steady income cannot increase the winning chance.

As a person who will support himself, he has to have a job to have income. It's not just the gambler who has to have a source of income, everyone has to have an income and that's why one has to find a job to be independent. This is basic as a human being, you need to be able to stand on your own.

But most importantly, if you are a gambler yes you need an income otherwise you will be robbing someone just so you have some funds to gamble.  If a person can't find a job, then he shouldn't gamble at all.

But back to the topic, you don't really need a job to win. all you need is some money and luck.

However, as a gambler, it's very important that you should have steady source of income. This is correct, being financially stable is required on gambling not because you can have good source of bankroll but rather your life will not be badly affected of the gambling result since losing is guaranteed on gambling which means poor people will surely become more in disadvantage since they don’t have good source of income.


Having a regular income doesn’t increase your chance of winning but rather the opposite since you will continue to play more because you still have money until you are just keep repeating the cycle. Gambling should be an activity for people who have a means of making money. If you don't have money you can't be a gambler and I am always against dependants who engage in gambling. It is not suitable for students or young people who depend on parents or guardians for financial assistance to consider gambling. Using money that would have been used for basic needs to gamble is inappropriate, it is proper to use extra funds.

Gambling addiction is when you don't have control over your gambling activities and this is a very bad behavior. Nobody should gamble to the extent of becoming addicted because it is an abnormal behavior. I think you are referring to a habitual or constant gambler which is not a bad behavior. If you have a stable income and can afford to gamble consistently or even every day, that's not a problem. The most important thing is to gamble what you can afford to lose and also have the ability to control your gambling time and budget.

Like I used to say, it's better to have a source of income and waste it all on gambling believing that you will make another than not having anything and lose all you have presently in gambling, this is why some gamblers turned criminal all in the name of debt and other money problem.

Then start saving some money aside for responsibilities purposes, after doing this you should then start keeping some changes aside for gambling, it should not be the first priority, it should be the last.

Not only as a gambler but also as an individual. It will alwys be necessary to maake a living unless you already have established yourself and that you know to yourself that you have enough savings to live with (which I doubt if you're not in line with bill gates). And with gambling, well I do know some people who are relying on gambling when it comes on their expenses. They are winning and all but whenever I ask them if they would suggest the same thing with other people, they all refused. For them it is not sustainable and stress free. You wouldn't win consistency and there'll be times you'd earn nothing for the day or week or even month. A fixed salary from a decent job would be better or if you can establish yourself an investment or business which could suffice your need, would be best.

Everyone could engage to gambling but gambling is not for everyone. Meaning, not all gamblers will win the jackpot or even win big often. If that's possible in the first plaace then we should all be rich by now right? Why isn't that so? Be practical. If by now you don't have a family to live with then don't be too confident and always be futuristic. Wouldn't it be better if you have a fixed income from a job for your bills and happened to win big from gambling for your wants? I would prefer that than to let my mind be consumed by 24/7 thinking of where will I be getting money to pay the bills for next month.

Absolutely. Gambling is a way of having fun just like watching football or socially drinking with friends. If you have no reliable income, your savings will deplete in no time whether you gamble or not... Let's say you go to the theater once a month because you have a budget for entertainment. If you like to gamble, you should also have budget for gambling. If your budget can't allow these expenses, you should either cut some of them or increase your monthly income. Don't think gambling is a way of getting rich or making money. It doesn't work that way. People who make this mistake get even poorer.

 Having a steady and regular income is very important as a gambler because it would enable you to scrap out money you should use for gambling, feeding, taking care of yourself and family and other miscellaneous.

A gambler who has a steady and regular income can have the possibility of winning because his gambling habit can not affect his personal obligations as a man even if he's an addict because being addicted to gambling doesn't actually implies that one will eventually stake all his money on bets but rather someone who plays gambling frequently. By having a steady income, he can take care of other life responsibilities without being affected by his gambling activities and moreover, someone who have a stable income can be aiming to win higher amount in his bets and might be lucky of winning one day and use the money to establish an investment.
