Other way of looking at it would be thanking yobit for allowing new accounts.
How many people stick around and become more invested in bitcoin and the forum due to this aspect? I know it brings a lot of crap posts but they are the first stop for many, increasing the number.
Bringing people into the fold should be priority for all of us and this sig alone achieves that.
Yes but an even greater number don't stick around because they get banned for shitposting, copy-pasting posts and tons of other offenses. And rightfully so.
Still when the abuse is big enough people will get banned. So not something people have to keep open each week 5 topics about it. So are always the same topics around here.
Spammers for sure need to be banned and I do understand the issue at hand. Just wanted to voice a different opinion since I do represent the signature in question. When the signature did not payout over the weekend if became pretty clear who does not read the posts and just comments when you see page after page of the same question. Think that would be a great place to start cleaning house.
But I still think Yobit is important to the forum, just in the same way faucets let people experience bitcoin for the first time without getting over exposed. Yobit gets people involved and I think you see more a lean towards Offtopic due to not knowing to much about bitcoin at first.
Of course we have spammers under every signature and I reported one last week to the person in charge of the signature. Received no response and the guy still posts one sentence responses and often is off point. Not sure why I mention that, maybe because it was a bit of a shock and it was a obviously sold account just before he started posting in that nature. Anyways..
Account farming is also being done without signatures and goes a tad under the radar. Maybe if we had a system of rating posts for spam we could make progress, but it would be abused as well. Look at the Trust system as a example of people proping one another up.
