Pick will end on sunday the 12th note we are at 0.02298 see below.

prizes are  0.01 btc  for all   in any country

  and a powered usb riser:

if you are in Canada  fr4nkthetank  will ship a riser to you
if you are in the USA philipma1957 will ship a riser to you

if you are in other countries  you get the 0.01btc

So fr4nkthetank is paying the 0.01 btc and maybe a riser (Canadian winners only)
I am sending 1 powered riser to the winner (usa winners only)

if anyone wants to offer to give a riser to a winner in other countries please let us know.

oh  for winner determination  say you pick the 0.10000 spot you get 0.10000000 to 0.10499999

and the number in the screen shot will determine the winner

so the   0.02298055        would make  the winner  0.02000   not  0.02500

I will not pick but watch very closely.
nah you should pick, its just for fun.  If you win, you can always refuse the prize, so the next winner in the next round will get it Smiley

Theyankeeswin won't be picking as he does not enter contests.

I figure we can run this each month for a few months.

Maybe February March April May

After that gear will go to the array.  Or maybe it will be dead. Or  a little of both.

Correct I never enter just watch and B.S.

This is exactly what I'm thinking when people sometimes ask the most basic questions.

Think it's bad now? Just wait until it's the "soccer moms" asking questions.

People always getting fiesty with me in Phil's threads.

All are testament to why you shouldn't mine if you don't understand watts/amps/wire gauge...   Roll Eyes

I should have taken a photo when I had to clean out wasps from a miner. I couldn't figure out why I'd occasionally have a confused wasp flying around until an S7 made a *pting* noise and launched one across the room.

Needless to say, here's a couple photos showing why you should use high awg wire:

And here's a photo on why you shouldn't use ATX psu's:

All are testament to why you shouldn't mine on 120v

Fortunately I learned that bitmain expects you to overclock these machines from the experience.

If you want I can throw in some horror stories and pictures of burnt miners and psu's.

I'm kindof sad that my antminers have mined more wasps and spiders than ants...talk about product misinformation.

Here's hoping nothing breaks and you get at least .235

Burnt and busted gear photos are welcome.

In fact  anyone reading this post your burnt gear photos.

we are grinding away  see below

Nice, phil! Great idea for picks, when do the picks open/close?  Here's hoping you get >.280BTC!!  Wink

Well we can end it on. Feb 28th

Maybe we open picks on Feb 7th

I like this idea. It helps to show just how hard or easy it is to mine in house .

here are the newer stats.  All this would not be mining if I paid to ship and mail the gear to China or Colorado.  I used all the shipping and repair fees to buy an avalon 721 instead.
I paid 776 out of pocket and got the miner in 4 days.
Vs paying 400 to ship to China
or paying 70 to ship to Colorado and maybe 230 total 300.

If all gear was fixed I would be at 7.5+8.5 = 16th no gear until lets say feb 28th

This way I am at 11.5 + 6 = 17.5th gear in hand and mining

hahahah this is actually fun as hell.  Ok we have to estimate diff and bitmain chance of failure.  Ok Here's what I can do, i'll pitch in 0.01 btc OR a Usb riser ver 5c molex if you are in Canada on top of whatever prize there is.  For now, if people use my referrals on amazon / newegg / ads more I'll have more prize stuff to give in addition to the existing prize pool.  I think winning gear could be fun too.  Like if someone has an old usb block erupter or something, that could be a prize too.  The winner could then say take or "pass" if he doesnt want it.  anyways don't forget the chance of a major ice storm knocking out power for weeks Smiley

lol this is pretty funny.  I'd like to sponsor the contest Smiley  It wouldnt be much, like 0.01btc to start.  I have a small website for n00bs, cryptominingtalk.com, and I promised that all referral link income/ads go into giveaways or contests.  I was planning on doing a giveaway for a usb riser for example, maybe that could be the prize Smiley

So do you think phil's idea works?   It seems good to me.
