We’ve noticed some privacy concerns in the comments, and we want to address them. Just to reassure you, our Qualtrics setup won’t gather any data from you. We think our questions are pretty fair, but hey, we might be missing something. So, if you could give us some feedback on which questions feel too personal or suggest ways to make them more comfortable for you to answer, we’d really appreciate it. Seriously, your input matters to us.
Now that you have cleared that I don't think that you need other changes as crypto gamblers are focus in asking about Privacy and from that KYC is really the question.

Actually the Pot money is just a bonus since you guys sounds legit and really just wanted to have a research with valid answers  so I guess we can help you out.
Our data is the most important part of our gambling activities and this is also the reason why we are in crypto for this matter.

I don't think that you need some changes for the questions that you've given after all you said that they can skip on what they think that they can't answer right which means that you don't have to change a thing or two about, the best way to move forward would be to increase the amount of questions rather than reducing them right? That's more appropriate in my opinion plus you're going to make you data more precise since you've got more questions right? Or you can't do it because there's a problem if you add more questions?

This survey is anonymous, we don't look at individual responses but only look at the bigger picture how different datapoints influence each other. It is also possible to skip some of the questions.
Since this is anonymous then count me in

The first time I read this I obviously think of my privacy that's why I denied partaking but now that you clarify this then will be joining and give my honest review.

Hoping that after gathering what you need to attain here, you will first broadcast here what will comes out of the business.

Will be giving my survey later today.

Currently only in English, what other languages are widely used in this forum?

These data may help you, see: Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity

In case you need some translators, see: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5406507

But there's a good chance some local boards out there have an overwhelming amount of english speakers too so you may wanna do an interest check post to gauge if a particular board needs it so you don't overspend.

It should be emphasized, in case anyone is confused, that you will win the $40 if you win the lottery. You have to answer in survey and then you enter the lottery, so this is not accurate:

To answer the survey and win the $40 BTC reward, visit our survey at: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/win-500-in-btc-answer-short-survey-closed-5483224

I understand that it is partly marketing and a way to encourage people to complete the survey but it would be more accurate to say "To answer the survey and have a chance to win $40..." or something similar.

Sorry for the clickbait title. Changed the comment as you advised.

By the way, I have a few questions:
Is the survey available in multiple languages to reach a broader audience?
Currently only in English, what other languages are widely used in this forum?

Can you elaborate on how the anonymized data will be used and analyzed in the research?
The anonymized data will be used in an initial cluster analysis (used for grouping) after which we will run some OLS regressions in R to find certain connections and trends.

Has the study received ethical approval from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga?
Yes, the study has been approved by the university.

I'm not an expert in decentralized gambling, but I'm a fan and interested in learning more. Perhaps you could offer some introductory resources or reading materials?

You can consider sharing the survey on other communities or platforms like Reddit forums (r/CryptoGambling) and social media groups like LinkedIn groups, Twitter, Facebook, and Discord, focused on blockchain and gambling. Another forum would be Altcointalks. The wider the reach, the more representative the data will be.

Who are you, a groupe of students?? Huh

You know, this is about the first former research group or interest we are recording out of a university on gambling and even more, decentralized gambling, it says much and positive much about the gambling space.

We should applaud it and encourage even more by giving our wealth of experiences to the cause.

While it is nice they do research, they do want a lot of personal information from you. Some people will not care as one review will get 40$ but thought I also mention it here. If not for all the personal information ( and I get why you need it), I would probably also participate in it.

What are some other places besides Bitcointalk forum where we should share the survey?

General gambling communities has also a good amount of crypto players, perhaps you could find some peeps who have dabbled in "decentralized gambling" platform.

For starters, you could look into subreddits like r/onlinegambling or r/gambling. There are also stanalone websites like casino.guru (they have a forum) and casinomeister. You could probably find more when you google! But before anything else, try to confirm first if such post is inline with each communities' rules.

Most probably this a university funded research so technically they are already have an advanced degree to have this kind of research for the university since this category is kinda new for educational systems.

It’s amaze me that they got curious on the application of smart contracts on gambling for this kind of research studies. This only means that decentralized gambling is now gaining attention to the outside world of crypto. Joining their survey will be beneficial even for us.

@OP I just hope that you will mention Bitcointalk on your reference for your data findings.

This is probably just for the promotion of those decentralized platforms, they seriously need marketing and whatever they learn something from this survey means they have some basis for their actions. I didn't go into the questions.

Has decentralized gambling really gained attention?  I'm not sure of that. There are only a few decentralized betting platforms and none ever I see people suggest playing on it. The situation is the same with DEX. There may be people suggesting to use of decentralized exchanges but only a few go there to trade actually. Maybe this survey is for this purpose.

To All Gambling Enthusiasts and Blockchain Believers!
We are conducting a study at the the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, focusing on the novel application of smart contracts in decentralized gambling.
This emerging area lacks extensive research, and our study aims to bridge this gap.

Study Background
To date, the academic community has primarily delved into smart contracts in sectors such as healthcare and logistics, with minimal focus on decentralized gambling (Ante, 2021). Our study is designed to methodically explore this uncharted territory, providing a more comprehensive understanding of decentralized gambling.
