I feel really bad as I always seem to have around 200 sMerits to award, In fact I've had a few difficulties recently, so I'm up to about 250 at the moment. Maybe I'm too strict in applying my rules for good posting behaviour.
Have you considered sending more per post? Theymos recommends you empty your source:
If they complain about amounts, tell them to complain to me. It's best if sources try to exhaust their source allocations, even if it means giving posts higher amounts than is typical. If you have 150 source merit and you only see 3 merit-worthy posts in a month, then I'd rather you over-give each of them 50 merit than let the merit expire. That way there are more people capable of sending merit, and the "merit economy" is less top-down.
I don't really agree with this though: it wouldn't look good to to just dump 50 Merit on a Newbie with one post, but doubling or tripping the amount per post would make sense if that's what you need to empty your source.
No indeed, I wouldn't do that neither, but sometimes its appropriate to higher merit some good members instead of higher meriting a newbie...
Of the older establish members we know they here to stay and to contribute to the place as well and circulate the gained merits they received ....
I wouldn't recommend continuously sending out 50merit etc, but when you do, just do it to a member that will recent the gained merit with care, so for example a source has a holiday or no internet or busy RL stuff for X-amount of time, then he could send out some merit to just some other members that will be on the forum at his absent, I mostly not completely off from here, but I do think some guys could be.
I just think for the sources that easily empty their bag and absolutely don't mis use their merit its just right to increase their allocation.
I hope this thread is taking serious and we get some more to work with.
