www.bitcoin.com . I purchased bitcoin

bitcoin.com has been scamming people for a couple of years now, they advertise that they are selling "bitcoin" but when beginners like you that aren't familiar with certain details go there and buy "bitcoin" they end up with an altcoin that this site has created and owns called "bitcoin-cash" and is trying to sell in the name of bitcoin because they have no other way of getting people to buy their shitcoin.

sorry to say that you were ripped off.

This is really sad another newbie a victim of their scams, @omess you should also consider taking legal actions against them for misleading you into buying BCH instead of BTC.

It's not too late if you want to sell it back. You might lose some dollars but that's better than losing all of your money.

Sell your BCH and don't repeat your mistake.

how do I sell it ?

If you want you can open a thread out here in the currency exchange section and sell your coins here, also make sure the buyer is a reputed buyer or if he isn’t reputed then insist on using an escrow for this deal.

Currency Section link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0

my problem is I do not see the bitcoin cash on the mpbile app. So I can not send them

I think you have purchased BITCOIN CASH (BCH) instead of BITCOIN.

It is possible that you bought Bitcoin Cash, not Bitcoin.

You probably got scammed into buying bitcoin cash (BCH), when you were intending to buy bitcoin (BTC).

its look like you bought BCH instead BTC

There are no more assumptions here about what happened, OP is posted link to BCH transaction in post number 9, why all of you still leave some possibility that the OP may have done something else? Read, think and then post, otherwise your posts make no sense.

As for the transaction, it is 17 days old, there are nearly 2500 confirmations so the problem may be in wallet sync or OP is send wrong address. I wish their support help, it's about their application and transaction.

Maybe this tutorial can help : How to Use the Bitcoin.com Wallet

Hi all

I need help. Is anyone familiar with www.bitcoin.com? . I purchased bitcoin on their mobile app(i have ios 13), I can see the bitcoin on the website via link they sent me  but It never appeared on the app. I have contacted the support team but ultimaly are unable to help or do anything.

thanks
its look like you bought BCH instead BTC
if the coin is still not in your account just wait and maybe it takes a few more hours before it appear in your account
after it appear in your account look for reputable exchange and trade your BCH to BTC.
you can check some exchange here where you can trade BCH https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/markets/

You probably got scammed into buying bitcoin cash (BCH), when you were intending to buy bitcoin (BTC).
Just dont ever use bitcoin.com they are not to be trusted.

When there is a bitcoin name attached, it is not necessarily mean we could trust it in all means. Remember, scammers and frauds make their way to scam people and to take advantage of the name that a huge cryptocurrency has. One example of it is the hard forks by different cryptocurrencies right now bitcoin attached to it. Though, not literally a direct fraud but it just make bitcoin lose investment supposed to be for it, so for me, it is a good thing to consider originality and becoming independent especially to use own established name.

see it's a transaction for BCH not BTC, BCH and BTC are different coins, did you just know about bitcoin, so you bought the wrong coin, so the problem is clear that the coin you are buying is not BTC.

It is possible that you bought Bitcoin Cash, not Bitcoin. This is why you should always check twice every transaction's detail. What's more, it's pretty good to use reliable platforms, next time buy on Kraken or CoinDeal, these two are safe. They have intuitive platforms so it's hard to make a mistake. Especially recommend CoinDeal, because of its free deposits.

That's my problem. I can only send the BCH from the mobile app and my wallet is empty.

I can only see the BCH on the web link

I don't have that wallet, but it should have settings to show Bitcoin (Core) and Bitcoin Cash, maybe in different tabs or settings.
Please make sure you are looking in the Bitcoin Cash area for your money.
Also take a look if that address 12yC1GTuyAL6epEBecT5ZtuWdbHiEFyhcc is present in your wallet. In the BCH area (if any).

Another idea would be to go to Bitcoin Cash thread and tell there that you bought BCH and it's not visible in your wallet and ask for help.
Maybe somebody there knows the wallet and has an idea what you can do.
As soon as you can see the money in the wallet, ... the other steps are in this thread.

Oh well, as I have suspected, you are mislead to think that you purchased BTC. Sorry that you fell for them, BTC = Bitcoin Core. Roger Ver is really shady as f**k.

I think you have purchased BITCOIN CASH (BCH) instead of BITCOIN. The strategy of the team who created Bitcoin Cash and used the Bitcoin Website works really great for newbies like you. If you think you have been deceived then sell immediately your coins and buy the real Bitcoin.

how do I sell it ?

Depending on what country you're in, but personally I'd go with Binance[1]. Create an account, send the BCH over, and sell it for BTC.

And of course, make sure to withdraw the BTC after and store it on a reputable wallet.

Its mind boggling how many people get tricked into buying Bitcoin Cash when they wanted to buy Bitcoin due to Bitcoin.com website.

For me it's "mind boggling" how comes there's no lawsuit about this. Somebody should sue them and bankrupt them. It's pure scam.

Its mind boggling how many people get tricked into buying Bitcoin Cash when they wanted to buy Bitcoin due to Bitcoin.com website.

For most of us we know the difference between BCH and BTC and we also recognise the symbols but for many new adopters they can easily get tricked. For many new people they see "Bitcoin" and they think its the same thing. Kind of like that Visa Debit that some people have on their bank cards. Basically its not exactly a credit card, its a bank debit card but it behaves like a credit card and many assume that Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin is the same thing.

I understand that people should see one priced at $7000 and the other at $180 and that should set off some clues but many people can miss that if they are new or in a hurry. This in general is not good for the community, because people will get Bitcoin Cash and wait for their Bitcoin, it will never arrive ,they will get upset that they have been scammed and just avoid anything crypto related all-together and move on to Stocks or Forex.
