It would be much better if an exchange would contact the other exchange, so that legitimacy and credibility og your report be validated by the exchanges themselves. You could reapproach Gate.io and request them to have in contact with the other.

Other than that, it would be pretty much be difficult to recover those coins. A hacker could just transfer those funds to another wallet away from exchanges. Without regulation, nothing can really be done except to be secure in your own digital actions such as staying away from malware-infected softwares.

First thing is hitbtc support quality is poor. You are not going receive your fund. This is not Their fault, its your fault if they are not helping you then you can't say anything. Because hacker hacked your fund for your mistake. If they are Going to help you, they asked you for enough evidence. It's tough to catch tah hacker or refund your money.

You money is GONE... You will not get it back.  Next time store your bitcoin yourself on a memory device that is not connected to anything.   REALLY, this is grade school level knowledge...

I would never, ever, ever keep bitcoin on a phone, or with anyone or anything on the internet.

I n the first place, the first suggestion that they've provided to you about reporting the concern to the local police is already a trash suggestion. Not all of the people in the world knows cryptocurrency. Police have many things to accomplish and they will not sit in a table studying how cryptocurrency works especially the transactions. They couldn't even make their own wallets. (Based from our country). Meaning to say that the exchange should solve the issues and they should know not all countries have their police sector who is busy studying cryptocurrency transactions frauds and crimes.

First, please move this to exchange section or service discussion.

Talking about the issue, every exchange has their own rules and regulations. They can't just do what someone ask to do. They have system to follow.
Even hitbtc assist you, this still doesn't guarantee that you will be able to recover the fund or identify the actual hacker because I doubt hacker will directly deposit the money. They will use tumbler to mix the btc and break the link.

First, I think this section(Bitcoin Discussion) is not suit with your topic, I think this should be under in Exchanges section or Scam Accusation.

I think, HitBtc has their policy regarding that, especially not sharing some details to some random people without any proof.
And have you tried to tell with them that those Bitcoin came from Gate.io exchange? I think it is much better to tell them, like contact Gate.io to prove that those Bitcoins are from in your account.
The advice of Hitbtc with contacting your local police seems difficult in your end.

Due to my clipboard hacking, A fund was sent to the hacker's wallet. I contacted ( within next minute) my exchange Gate.io and they are very much helpful and showed a good approach to help me. They suggested me to trace the fund and notify them if I see the fund goes to a platform. I traced the fund and the fund was sent into another wallet and then to Hitbtc platform. I notified them immediately and the whole thing was just in few hours. But Hitbtc took almost 36-48 hours to respond to me in that case and in the meantime, I chatted on their telegram group several times with several admins. Though they were saying to me that I should have a solution at the soonest time but later what I got is really unacceptable.
They are saying me to report to the local police and then the police will contact them and they will share the details, other than that, they won't do anything. On the other hand, our county has no specific regulation or law about crypto but it was stated not to use this type of asset. If I go to a report about this, I might be facing different laws issue. Why they are not helpful. I know one of my friends who had a similar issue and Binance helped him to recover the fund with some process. Why they can't do that? if they need my local law guidance though crypto is not legal in my country, why they are accepting users from my country? If I need to be a centralized law follower, how they can operate their business including my country? Can anyone help me in that case?
Thanks
