You won't make money if you don't sell it.
By any chance, we really have to sell at the right time. At the moment, it could be one of the best prices to sell but just a few hours ago the price was $63k and then it suddenly plunged.

now, yes now is the right time for you to sell Bitcoin and wait for the price to come back down and then you buy it back.
Buying at the top and waiting for it to correct for a moment so that you'll get a discount. That's the usual strategy that we have been mastering all of the time.

So I keep hearing HODL, HODL, keep holding and all that. My simple question to everyone is "when is actually the right time to sell Bitcoin or we don't ever sell it"?

How then do we say we have made money from it if we don't sell?

Sell when you already have profit and don't be greedy. Holding for short or long term is depends on you. If you want to hold for a long term and set a price which higher and you think it will reach, do it and wait patiently.

Yeah, everyone in this forum and in most social media emphasise about holding bitcoins but unfortunately most of us not ready to believe into such a recommendation. But, there are plenty of different people on this bitcoin ecosystem to keep buying and selling and primarily miners and merchants are few of them. They need to sell bitcoin to cover their running costs.

So, we cannot expect everyone to be holding bitcoins as most of us must be having some reasons to sell and then to buy back whenever possible. I am a strong holder of bitcoin but not having any big amount of bitcoins hence holding even in little amount ensure that I am enjoying all the appreciation of bitcoin.

Hold of course as long as we feel there is still a chance to skyrocket, and unfortunately today the market is red again, in investing of course we must have a clear goal, the most important goal is to profit, if we are still losing or there is an opportunity for even greater profit then hold is better option than sell.

If you are satisfied with your profit, then exit out. It is simple. Look, just think about those people and companies. Why didn't they sell bitcoin? Shy people hold bitcoin. There is a simple reason for this: they can afford it. If you ask the experts about bitcoin investment, they suggest you invest that amount in bitcoin in whatever you can afford. If you can't afford it, don't hold it. And no one will force you to hold it. They will just say "hold on, hold on" for all the reasons just for affordable people. So I hope you understand everything right now. If you can afford it, hold; otherwise, exit with a profit.

That is a very broad question.I have sold a little of my savings since 2016 when the price of Bitcoin was over 62.000 dollars.I have kept most of it HODL-ing again as I believe the price to skyrocket again even more than this new all time high that we just witnessed at near 67.000 dollars for a Bitcoin.Since if we compare the price when it first started at cents and now after 12 years at near 67.000 dollars chances are high the price of Bitcoin will continue to reach new all time highs during the upcoming years.

Anyway, don't listen to anyone and sell your BTC whenever you want.

Yes some people can hold, but sometimes they just don't know when to let go. I've read that the belief that BTC prices will always go up for 3 halving cycles is proven, and maybe this will happen in the next halving cycle even though there is a correction that will occur. So I think you can watch the cycle to buy and sell, this year this is the last year and maybe starting next year the price will correct. IMO

If your only reason for buying Bitcoins is to sell them for fiat money, then you are not a true Bitcoiner. Grin
I'm kidding.Probably 90% of all investors in Bitcoin are buying BTC for the one and only purpose to sell them and make more fiat money. There's nothing wrong with that, but Satoshi Nakamoto didn't create Bitcoin for the sake of being "digital gold" or a financial asset, like stocks and bonds.Unfortunately Bitcoin will never fulfill it's true destiny of being an actual currency, used by millions of people in their daily life.
Anyway, don't listen to anyone and sell your BTC whenever you want.

This question proves that you really need to know what kind of asset you're invwsting into. Without due diligence, you'll never know how much profit do you need, or how much longer do you need to hold.

Not everyone is HODLING though, most people only say to Hodl so Bitcoin price would either retain or gradually increase eventually to cashout when their target price is reached.
Expert short sellers have made enough profit playing against the volatility of cryptocurrency, and yes it is risky that's the reason why long term hodlers exist, to secure themselves from lossing a huge chunk of investment.

If you're planning for a long term investment/hold, it's better to reap multiple times profit, not twice nor thrice make it more than that. Now, If you ask me when, then only you and Bitcoin's price can tell.

I think the right time to sell bitcoin is when our target is met, where everyone's target is different. and that's where the analysis will be, all greed is tested as well as being toyed with by the market. therefore we must have a stand, so that there is no excessive disappointment behind it
The time to sell bitcoin already comes as bitcoin price reached the new ATH a few days ago. Maybe you can wait for more to see bitcoin price start another rally so you can sell bitcoin again. Related to greed, we really need to know when to sell bitcoin so we do not get late to take profit and know when to buy back bitcoin. If you can have your target price sell and always follow that, you can take your profit many times and you can control yourself not to become greedy.

You need to be more simple and practical, I haven't seen anyone say they will hold BTC forever Smiley

We all need to look for something... First, a money return on investment in the field you are in. When you are satisfied with the problem of material money in society, then looking at investment channels to develop your own creations (if you have the ability)

There may be different approaches and goals, but most of the people here already have and are getting what they want. Personally, after many years of participating in this market, I always believe in it and I know that every time I participate, I have a specific plan.

Are you investing because you want to make money? Then set a profit goal, once you reach it, take your profit and leave. Or you can invest again, and keep repeating what you were doing. Hodl, reach profit goal, sell and repeat. That's it. You don't have to hold forever if you are here to make profit. Now if you invested in crypto because you believe crypto currencies will become mainstream and will replace fiat (which I doubt), then keep holding and investing. You probably will never have to work again because you would have accumulated enough bitcoins to literally buy anything.

Everyone has a different sell target if you buy it for $35k can sell it at today's price or you have a further target of $100k and you will hold it and wait for to gas value up to 100k$ and sell them. No one has the same goal and everyone buys at a different price so I can only give you some examples, how much do you buy your BTC at? And what will your selling target be? You can suggest these goals to yourself.

I sell it when the price I think starts to rise and deserves to be sold. And even then, I don't sell everything, I sell some and then if the price goes up again, I sell some of it. if we continue to hold on and hold on even though the crypto market is starting to rise, then we have lost the opportunity to make a profit. If you really want to do a long term investment, then you have to be aware that it will take you longer to hold it, even years. so I think it all depends on the goals of each person in investing.

it's obvious mate the right time to sell it when you make a profit ,however as far as I know and understand Cheesy is anyone who hodl bitcoin in the past would have been lucky to sell it today or in the future ,do you need money? otherwise you have to hodl on until you are sure it is the right time to let it go ,back to yourself mate
it seems that it must be returned to ourselves who can determine when and what to do. I agree with you that the right time to sell is when we feel that the calculations we have done have made a profit. even if it is not necessarily fixed to hold it for a long time, if it is bitcoin it will always be profitable.

but we know that the increase that will occur is higher than in the past, it will definitely occur every 4 years. so of course it takes quite a long time and if indeed the funds that we store in bitcoin are indeed unused funds, of course there is no problem.

but indeed at this time the best ATH prediction will be expected to occur at the end of this year, so the opportunity is quite short and you just have to decide whether to sell later or will wait another 4 years to come where the price will definitely be higher.

When it comes to cryptos or bitcoin in this case, hodling often offers you a greater chance of making some actual profits off your hodling. Should you be satisfied with the profits you've gotten on your hodl amount, you can sell but, never get jealous or remorseful when the market booms. If you must sell, youu can sell a fraction of it and it should be because, you have a problem that, other sources of your income should you have any is, most likely not to provide the needed fund to tackle that issue. Only then, can I advise you to sell as, bitcoin is far from reaching its full potent.

Everyone has a different profit target, so only we know when is the best time to sell Bitcoin. It is impossible for everyone to have the same target,
after all, everyone has different life needs, when we have an urgent need and need money it's a good time to sell the Bitcoin we have. That's one of
the benefits of holding Bitcoin, to have money when we need it. Therefore, investing in Bitcoin, we should not be influenced by others, we must be able
to make our own decisions. Because only each of us knows what is best for ourselves.
