People don't really want to die. All they want is relief from their problems. As long as they are told by science that their problems can't be relieved, if they believe this, they aren't being allowed to live on their own terms. Some of them think they want to die because of it.

The answer, of course, is Jesus Christ of the Bible New Testament.

I've been hearing euthanasia since a decade or two ago, I was very young way back then and I already understood how it goes. While we all have the right to choose how we leave this world, we have no control on how it will go. So, yeah, respect if someone wants to see the other side the way they want to and with what kind of path and how they want to get into that. It's hard to discuss matters that are about death and life and if someone is struggling to continue living on this world and doesn't see themselves living for more years to come.  Undecided
I don't even know how I'll decide for myself or if that time comes for me. I also think that someone I just leave this world alone and no one else will know until I'm gone for so long that they notice I'm no longer here anymore.

I came across a story of a writer who, at the age of 86, decided to put an end to her life. In her farewell letter, she wrote: "I don’t want to fall into a situation where I rely on life-support machines to survive, and I don’t want that kind of death, so I ended my life." This deeply moved me. Euthanasia is not legalized in my country, and I really don’t want the end of my life to be decided by my children. So, please, let elderly people have the right to choose when to leave.

Every elderly people will always be allowed to make some decisions but not for euthanasia because is against the belief of most people especially the religious ones and there is no government that would love to legalize such thing because it will certainly results to something else were most people will be using the medium to end other people's lives even when they did not consent to it, so for me I would say that life should be lived to the full and not cutting it off, however I wonder why such thing should even happen when they have children that would take care of them very well and never allowed them to lack anything.

Same with assisted dying. At some point it will become coaxed dying.

It cracks my head to think why things have to work like this. Why couldn't the natural death occur before all the pain and weaknesses?

That's what the big medical leaders and the Deep State want for us... death before all that debilitation. In fact, they want death for us as fast as we can get it.

Yes, especially considering the fact global population is getting older in many countries, what creates a sustainability issue for the economy to keep working with less young ones working to sustain the retirement of a majority composed by elders. Of course it's going to be interesting to get rid of many elders who don't work as gears of the capitalist society anymore, as they are creating only expenses.

The possibility of practicing Euthanasia should be strictly applied to cases where the individual is suffering severe pain, without recovery chances through the current methods available by medicine, and also in cases where the individual just exists as a body, in a vegetative state.

Coincidentally this subject just came up in the moment I just lost my dog, who was suffering for a year already, without being able to walk, to see and to hear, while crying and complaining a lot for days, nights and during the daybreaks. It's the biggest dilemma I've already faced in my life, but in the end we decided to go for Euthanasia, after he started rejecting food and got completely weakened.

It cracks my head to think why things have to work like this. Why couldn't the natural death occur before all the pain and weaknesses?

I am not ok with it.

While I understand that everyone has a right to choose what they do with their lives, in our capitalistic money-driven society, once you cross a certain line, the line will keep getting redrawn as long as there is someone who can profit off it, even if those people have to do and say all kinds of vile things in order to make a dollar.

One example is transgenderism: While everyone has a right to mutilate their genitalia, nowadays we see greedy, evil 'doctors' and attention-starved parents freely abuse their children by making them transistion before they even understand the reality behind what they are doing to themselves.

Same with assisted dying. At some point it will become coaxed dying.

I don't think religious leaders will agree to this kind of advice, first it is believed that God is the giver of life, and he takes it whenever, however even the laws of most countries forbids you taking your own life even at old age. Age comes with a lot of disadvantages, that's why a proper home of the elderly that is well equipped should be built to accommodate those elders that don't have children to take good care of them.

Before an elderly person would come up with the idea of taking his/her life, it then means the situation they might have found themselves is not befitting, that is why we should make laws to help to protect the elderly among us because they are weak and vulnerable.

I support euthanasia providing strict psychological exams are undertaken prior to any decision being made on a patients life. Nobody should have to live in pain or be severely disabled with a really poor quality of life. It’s a really sensitive topic but people should be able to make their own choice.

And where has Euthanasia been a legal in the world where one can just be watched ending their lives without being adhered to public attention of rescue or concern?

This can not happen. The advancement to this policy if legalized will encroach to the level of legalizing murderer or suicidal in the future. So don't even think about putting such an Euthanasia into legal law.

Euthanasia is actively legal in "Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, and the Australian states of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia".

There is no way suicide or murder can be legalized.  In euthanasia a person will have to go through some bureaucratic process which will certify that he is going through unbearable pain or suffering from an uncomfortable terminal disease. Murder is killing somebody illegally and it will forever be a capital offense. In my country suicide is a criminal offence, which means anyone who attempts suicide can be sent to prison. Suicide and murder are different from euthanasia.

Regardless of one's religious beliefs, humans generally acknowledge that our existence has a source, whether attributed to science or a higher power. Logically, it's not right to take one's own life.

The fact that someone can write a letter indicates they still possess cognitive function and mobility. It's concerning that they would speculate about becoming a vegetable and not wanting to rely on life support.

What prompts someone to think they'll become a vegetable? That mentality is troubling. It's never acceptable to take one's own life, regardless of age. Doing so can make loved ones feel like they've failed in supporting and caring for the individual.

Life and death are natural processes. Death will come when the time is right. Taking matters into one's own hands, especially concerning life, is a frightening thought. I disagree with the idea of taking one's own life. It's important to persevere through life's challenges.

Suicide is suicide no matter how you choose to take your life, and only God has the right to stop the existence of anyone on stop, because it's evil to kill. To be old is a blessing to you, because there are some people that died prematurely, and is not because you are better than them. So when you're alive, you need to be happy and give God the glory instead of the opposite.
Let's put religion aside. We live in XXI century with science, medicine and etc, not everyone is religious. People have right to make choice. After all, we don't talk about case "Oh, I don't want to live anymore". Euthanasia is about very complicatedvhealth conditions.
How blessing it should be to be old in vegetative state...

As long as we maintain modern medical science, religion is there, right in this science. If medical science had been used properly, there wouldn't be any "vegetative state." It's the religion of medical science that is keeping the vegetative state from being healed through nutrition, and, yes, through faith in Jesus Christ.

That's not how things works in most countries. Children can't decide when to make euthanasia for you. It's your choice and decision. You have to sign documents where all stuff is described such as cases in what conditions euthanasia can ne made for you. For example if you're in vegetative state.
And elderly people can't choose themselves when to leave (well, unless they want to commit suicide)

the thing is some elderly are already out of the proper state of mind so isn’t cruel to follow the whims of someone with mental issues? you won’t even fight for them? the only solution i can think of here is should the elderly want this to be considered they should lay out the conditions earlier when they are still at the right state of mind and can therefore think and consent

the main reason why Euthanasia is never a consideration for most persons is due to the believe that one should never kill, be it another person or themselves. if you take this out, there are people that just want it to be that once it gets to the point that they can't take care of their selves that their life should be taken by a supernatural force from above or that in some way or somehow, they should just die.

giving elderly people the right to leave on their own terms does nothing different from is the case at the moment. no family member will be comfortable to see her elderly one attempting to commit suicide just because of the feeling that he/she doesn't want to be a burden to others. there are a lot about the afterlife that we don't know of and that is enough reason to enough death come naturally rather than trying to facilitate the process and, in the process, incur some unknown wrath on ourselves in the afterlife.

While you are still able, write up a will for what is to be done with your body if you are incapacitate. Better yet, put your body in trust with a friend or family member as the trustee. You can write it so that you have all the freedoms that you want.

Compare rates on different exchanges & swap.
That's another kind of suicide,. she does not have to get the governments approve or legitimize to be able to do it. Government approval would make killing of certain people to save money, the economy, etc more common. They will be persuaded or pressured to kill themselves lawfully to save money or the economy, otherwise will be seen as selfish
The issue here is possiblility to make people die against their own wish, which is also likely with legalization of this sort of euthanasia.

there are many reasons why someone may wish to end their life. intolerable pain, immobility, unable to have functional life

this is where people need to prepare their next of kin about their wishes concerning medical intervention.

for instance some people may not want to be resuscitated, or only resuscitated if healing and returning to normal function has a high chance if revived. this should go into detail about interventions like life support or medical treatment/medications

people should if in debilitating pain should not be forced to only have half dosages of pain relief, thus stlil suffer due to risk of death at full dose.. if someone is in such high level of pain they should have a medical plan and prepared records that say they are willing to take the risk of death in exchange for zero pain, taking the liability away from the medical provider/next of kin by recording that the sufferer had clear medical plan and aware of risks and consequences

I know that some old people has decided not to stress their children and relatives on their messes and old aged exhibitions on facing unfitness and unhealthiness and then wishes to die as earlier as they grows old where they won't put their families on a burden as that but if any old fork want to take their life, let them do it with no trace as regards of suicide and be known it is an illegal so that it does not attract emulation from the younger or older ones who never have the thoughts of taking their own life by themselves.

Perhaps... Living long to aged is a grace and blessings. Why not live it gratefully? .
