I came across a story of a writer who, at the age of 86, decided to put an end to her life. In her farewell letter, she wrote: "I don’t want to fall into a situation where I rely on life-support machines to survive, and I don’t want that kind of death, so I ended my life." This deeply moved me. Euthanasia is not legalized in my country, and I really don’t want the end of my life to be decided by my children. So, please, let elderly people have the right to choose when to leave.

I am not a fan of euthanasia because it is against my religion. It is believed in my religious palace nobody has the right to kill himself because he didn't create himself. People who commit suicide will be punished in the after life according to my religion. Euthanasia should not be a choice for everybody because it can be abused by people who have become hopeless due to certain conditions.  Age should not also be the reason why you want to die since there are still healthy elderlies. The only reason I think people should consider euthanasia if they are terminally ill and the sickness is consuming most of their resources. Another reason could be if someone is experiencing great pain and suffering that doesn't have remedy.
