Unfortunately since the Exorcist I don't think there has been a really good horror movie.

If you like Zombie films, two critically acclaimed films which are both very suspenseful and are both on Netflix is Train to Busan (2016) and Ravenous (2017).

A Quiet Place was the best one I've seen in a while. It stars Emily Blunt and was written and directed by her husband who played Jim in The Office.

I think my favorite horror movie of all time is The Exorcist though. Scared the crap outta me as a kid and is still genuinely scary and was well ahead of its time and hugely inflectional to horror. The original Blair Witch Project was also very original and insanely creepy, not to mention birthing an entire genre of found footage films(even if most of them were crap). I think a big part of it's effectiveness of being scary was because it seemed very real and some people even thought it was lol.

3. A Quiet Place
