What is not a high risk investment for you can be one for someone else. I'd call XRP a high risk investment for sure.

If you have bitcoins you can still gather some free coins from airdrops based on your bitcoin holdings. One of them is MWC coin. I almost never invest in new altcoins unless I can earn them or get them for free.

Just thinking, maybe one of the more enterprising members will bundle the top 20 coins into an index and sell the etf. That would allow diversification of risk

Aside the large cap coins which are very renowned on the market, there isn't any single coin with permanent condition or price trend. Every coin on the market has its season and it is the duty of the investor to study hard in order to know which coin is worth holding at a particular period of time. Exchange or trading platforms coins such as BNB, Bitrue, Kucoin are good coins due to their working products which grants some level of assurance for its holders.

I also have some of this coin and it is actually a good choice though slow change we could gain profit even in short term. Popular coins in the market that wont last the value even you keep for the long run. There are lot coins in the market but still the best to choose the promising one.

But personally, I like the recently released project Aigo. They have an interesting idea, a good team, and therefore I think that their coin will have a great future.

because of the IEO there are more and more coins that easily enter the market and become rivals for old coins so it is very difficult to find a good coin for now

The new Altcoin can be an alternative investment. The market cycle is always changing and for example, maybe a few years ago an altcoin have market cap value reached tens of millions of dollars but now only hundreds of thousands of dollars. The new Altcoin can attract new investors because many new altcoins offer new technologies and new schemes for investors

right now the best altcoin for the investment is ethereum only because I had the confidence about the development so that if we invest in this currency will be getting better results so that there are lots of profitable currencies are available for different investors but it will be more comfortable for me to hold.
