Good for him that he didn't wasted his birthday gift on booze or weed. I can see that he made his first Bitcoin purchase back in 2013. I was unaware of cryptocurrency until 2017, when one of my friends introduced me to Bitcoin. I feel jealous now... However it was a bad decision to sell his coins later that year. He should have held on to them for a longer duration.
Nothing is impossible with the person who wants to get rich. If the news is true i am happy for the reason that it inspires us all.In order to make it rich because of bitcoin it just shows that he is not weak hands and I think he has a lot of trust in bitcoin. So while we are promoting crypto we may begin to explore what we can do to enrich the crypto world. like his sudden wealth because of bitcoin

One important point am picking from this right up is his willingness to invest at that teenage age, as a teenager you would expect him to want to spend the money on what other teenager his mate are interested in, video games etc, this guy clearly have one goal in mind to flip that money given to him instead of spending it,

Despite of having an early age, this is not his hindrances to become millionaire. Nowadays, many people are trying to get up with the help of bitcoin and many of us are working hard, invest hard, grind hard to earn some money out of it. We should have own technique and skills to be successful. Being smart and creative is given to each one of us so we should make it happen with the help of that skills. That's good for him because his grandmother has enough money to buy bitcoin at that time when its value is still low during his young age the reason why he is a millionaire now. Well if only I have the money to buy bitcoin when I was young I would definitely buy a lot but sad to say we are poor and we can't afford to buy it.

This is just a summarized of his journey.
Eric Finman is just a typical 16 year old student who is bright and creative. He has smart two brothers and he is the youngest. He is into latest technologies. When his brother introduced digital currencies (bitcoin) at 2013 who his brother brought 50 bitcoins. He decided to compete his brother by buying hundreds of bitcoin worth $1,000 in which his grandmother's gave.
His brother Ross gave him a book by Ohanian ( a co-founder of Reddit), which indicates the power of internet and which got Eric's attention and interests. He is eager to meet him but there is $8,500 fee which made his parents think it was too much. With his eagerness he founds out and discovered that the bitcoin reached $1,200 and he sold his bitcoin to $100,000.
Finally, he met Ohanian. It amazed him how matured enough Eric when it comes to technology. One time, as a freelancer, he make a Flappy Bird knockoff game and Ohanian is an eye opener for Eric's eagerness to use internet as a source of income.
He produce his own programmers, etc. And made his own company.
I just thought Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest millionare. Now, it is Eric Finman.

This kid comes from a very rich family and fortunately for him, his investment gave him very good returns. He could take the risk, because for his family it was a small amount. But such fairy tales don't happen very often to ordinary people. Anyway, I hope that he continues to stay invested in Bitcoin as his returns can grow by manifold in the next few years.

Back in 2011 and 2012 the exchange rates were pretty much stagnant, and no one would have imagined that Bitcoin exchange rate would climb to five digits. Those who invested during that era, took a great deal of risk.

It's very interesting and inspiring to know that at a younger age Erik got the interest and curiosity about the potential of cryptocurrency when he first heard about it from his brother. With his determination, commitment, and creativity, he succeeded and give back to the community, he used his fortune to fund educational business.I do hope that the story of this young man could give more lesson to those who prospected bitcoin as an investment. Other people happen to know bitcoin by false information coming from non-reliable articles that spreads online. Having a mindset similar to this guy at his younger age is worth of praises. It's not too late to start from scratch, reaching your dreams with bitcoin is not impossible regardless if you're old or young.

Sometimes intelligence isn't needed to get to the right place, and even luck can be enough! I don't know which applies to Eric. But I think it would be more correct to judge people not with their wealth, but with the way they have come from the beginning, with their moral values and personality.
Still intelligence is clearly needed for daily relationships and for work. but the matter of luck cannot be determined by one's intelligence. luck can come to everyone and no one can avoid it. agree with you that don't always determine people from their wealth but from the morals they do.
Is this also the kid that became a millionaire out of bitcoin but friends and families are doubting him? Well, if it is him, then anything is possible.
As much as it is great to hear such a young person becoming a millionaire from cryptocurrency, it is clear that he didn't truly believe in or understand the technology. Seems like a bit of a stupid quote coming from someone who off a stroke of pure luck became a millionaire. He really did no work and in fact, if his brother didn't introduce him into bitcoin he would be like the rest of the nobodies in the world. It is completely different in the real world, people work their asses off and can still barely makes ends meat. 
He is very lucky or very clever. I'm quite surprised that it is an information unit that he can understand Bitcoin. He will be very successful in the future. I wonder what gift he got for his grandmother.

Saying that if you're not a millionaire in the next ten years is too much. Not everyone has a relative that can give you a $1000. I'm pretty sure there were also a lot of people that trust bitcoin at that time but didn't have that much money to invest in bitcoin. He's overweening even though he did not earn the $1000 himself.
So the kid borrowed money and got lucky with investment? Good for him but he's not living in the real world, many people do not have the option to borrow money from family at no risk. Although he's done a good job selling at ATHs so can't fault that.
His mother gave him a thousand, It's not borrowed. It's true that not every one of us does have the opportunity like that. His brother might be the who is really pushing him to invest in bitcoin and he did a good strategy selling it on that price point. This shows that true believers do get a reward for doing the right thing.

For me he just got lucky when he bought Bitcoins when the price is still low or below $500 USD. There’s more of them out there who bought Bitcoin at that price, hold on to it and when price hits the ceiling, we got instant millionaire. If he can duplicate this with other stocks or form of investment, then maybe we have a boy wonder here with a Midas touch.
In my opinion on that boy has been rich in investing bitcoin and forgot for how many years is just because they can afford to buy bitcoin at that time. There are hundreds or even a thousand people who had been rich in just investing bitcoin and let them sleep on their safe wallet.
Time will come bitcoin will become expensive due to less supply and more demand situation. If every one of us was an earlier bitcoin holder probably we are also one of those riches people just because of bitcoin. But at that time no one ever believed in Bitcoin.

Well thanks to his grandmother who clearly is well to do and could afford to give a 16 years old $1000 and his brother who introduced him to btc, I think they are the ones who deserve the praise, without them there won't be any Eric the millionaire,
There a lot of smart people out there who can also do same or even better but they are not fortunate enough to have such people around to assist, well good for him, he was able to make something good out of the money he was given.
