If one day most of countries in the world ban BTC, will someone with a lot of money spend million or even billion of dollars to establish a whole country. In this country, you will exchange with BTC and other crypto. Will you leave your coutry and move to this 'wonderland'?
I wonder where would that country be? Who will give or sell a piece of their land to be a country other than theirs? If moon and mars would have been livable maybe could be there.
This is a great idea and no doubt that country will progress more than other and it economy will have better situation than rest of world if people living in it start working with bitcoins patiently. Bitcoins have the potential of turning unemployed people into useful ones, stabilizing the country economy.

It will be no, a country using crypto currencies is a bad idea, the fluctuation will happened everyday and the retail shop need to change the price everyday and your salary will be fluctuative and the country will be controlled by whale who got a huge amount of Bitcoin, it will be miserable
A country must be economically stable or tends to become stable. Reason is, one country have to trade with a huge number of other countries every day. On the flip side, bitcoin have beauty of fluctuation continuously. Then how this water and fire can stay together empowering the economics of country. It is a hell no.

I do not think 1 century would make people a new country with official bills of bitcoin. Because building a country in need of the land of sovereignty and unity. Moreover, bitcoin is used as official money which is fluctuating and the government must be difficult to arrange it and trade which for any time will change the price due to bitcoin which is fluctuation. Although there are countries that use bitcoin as the official money I still love my nation and my own homeland.

This hypothetical country would be hacked into bankruptcy before
you could even blink. That's one of the good things about paper money
and banks.  And this country would probably be like a penal colony
with all the scammers that would no doubt seek asylum there.

Thanks but no thanks.

Realistically: No thats freaking impossible XD. Establishing a whole country with btc? thats freaking impossible . But a government could actually apply this. maybe a small country could do that?
But by doing that they also  risk their people's well-being since btc is unstable.
They would be rich and poor in one moment to another. o.O pretty bad if you ask me.
Not realistically: Yess!! everything is possible!!(That's the point when you are not realistic xD)

Bitcoin has scalability problems, so it cannot be everyday money.

Yet it's possible that some countries accept bitcoin as an additional official currency.

I think that this concept cannot work during my life time.
First of all you need land for this. And since Earth is taken, you'll have to make the country on another planet. Then this country will have to develop greatly, from services to jobs.
It will also be difficult to have directly Bitcoin, since countries/governments play with inflation depending how good the economy goes.
All in all, it's an idea very hard to implement and it will take time.

I think this is impossible. If a country uses only this bitcoin, it will not be good for its own government because we know that bitcoin is completely independent of government and banks. Again, this will make bitcoin up. The government can not benefit from tax

This seems like a pie in the sky idea. No way this would ever happen. If it did, I would not expect it to be sustainable. Bitcoin isn't developed enough to exist as a currency on its own. There is still a lot of stuff that needs to happen. In this supposed bitcoin country, what would the leadership of this country look like? So many things would need to be worked out. Even if it ended up being great, I probably wouldn't leave my country since everyone that is important to me lives here.

First you need to find a unclaimed land to make a country, And well there isn't a single piece of unclaimed land left on earth. So I don't think a new country can be established now.
But just to answer your Hypothetical question, Yes I would  probably move to that country given that it has everything else that I have in my country, it can't be just a country using btc full of bitcoiners with nothing else like a country.

It isn't that simple. There is technically unclaimed land, but if you claim it, others might as well. Nobody really follows any rules when it comes to that.
There is land on the borders of Serbia and Croatia that neither of the countries claim (they have a claims of other areas that overlap, so they are disputing where a border should be). Some guy claimed that land when he found that out, but all the countries (including those two) say that the land will belong to one of the two countries. He called it Liberland, it wants to use Bitcoin. Of course no one is allowed to go there by border guards and it is mostly a swamp.

You could also make new land, like they do with those palm tree islands in Dubai. You can do it in a middle of the ocean, or just tie some boats together and make a moving city state.

The problem of creating a new country is more political then practical. Humans can do a lot of things if they have a reason, but when others object, this is a problem.

I think if you look at Japan, they already legalized it, so it makes bitcoin a legal tender together with their official currency, which is Yen. So they already started this tsunami, and so the scenario who have describe is somewhat already happening. As far as moving in this country, I think I wouldn't for now, because I don't have enough bitcoin to begin with. But for others you have lots of coins, then probably they will think of moving in this country because crypto is accepted. In Japan though, you have the language barrier and the cost of living is very high. So its unlikely I'm going to move there and start a new life.

Where is my ring of blades...
bitcoin is global, you can not restrict it only to one country.
you may see a country be more friendly towards bitcoin which people usually call "bitcoin haven" or stuff like that but you can not restrict it there. for example a country like Switzerland for years and Japan ever since 2017 have been bitcoin friendly but bitcoin is still a global currency belonging to no one and everyone Smiley

i dont think that would ever actually work out, even for a decade. why? unless this hypothetical country can produce literally everything it needs, from resources, technology, services, infrastructure, manufacturing, etc, it will need to trade with other nations. if those countries that the hypothetical country would need to trade with had banned bitcoin, well, they simply couldn't trade without a means to provide something other than bitcoin as their trading tool. sure, countries could provide other goods (essentially, barter) to trade with, but i think the world economy is fairly stable in who provides what. Of course, this could hypothetically be overcome, but it's unlikely without a globally accepted currency to leverage with.
Also, i highly doubt that any one country can be entirely self - sufficient.

There will be no someone who does it. The crypto currency will rule the whole country by it self. So there's no need to create a bitcoin wonderland. I believe someday in the future, you can use crypto currency everytime and everywhere. And its not easy to build a grand new country . Even if you've buy an  Island, the Island are still belong to its government country.

It is impossible to establish a grand new country whose official money is bitcoin because all of the places or land in the world is occupied by someone who is under by the government and people will not become interest to be part of your country if you don't have a great status especially in financial and i think that is just all about fantasy to establish your own grand country.

People will not relocate to these Bitcoin countries, but they might visit these countries and spend there bitcoins there, because it was banned in their country. < Bitcoin holidays > The idea would be that you earn bitcoins online in your country of origin and then go on holiday in a country where Bitcoin is not banned.

Your country will not get any tax income from your earnings and no VAT from you spending it. < They banned it, so they do not deserve it >
