looks like you don't need to know much to become a r/btc mod LOL (it's just a GUI bug, he did not check if it's real on the blockchain)

$11,000 For just blogging on steem that's great but,are these real money can people really withdraw that amount i don't know much about Steem but I think it's to good to be true and they can be manipulated, there was a social sites where you can earn for liking their post and soon a lot of groups have been created for exchanging likes..

If it fails those who bought loads of STEEM and locked it up for 2 years in STEEMPOWER will lose everything. A day in the altcoin scene is like a year in the real world, with everything moving so fast. Nobody can be sure STEEM can survive for 2 years, and anyone locking their STEEM for 2 years is taking a big gamble on its survival.

expect dozens of projects to follow this lead.

Actually, FAIL is the first project of this kind. It doesn't meant to work in this way, but it will use social networks to tip/help people.

funny you say that because it was a girl who posted "make up video" and it earned her 11k.

I'm always getting frustrated when a see some big pump (STEEM's rise in price was not natural), because a lot people are dragged into and eventually leads to big (if not huge) personal losses. I did some fast research (like 20-30 mins) on STEEM and the way I see it some posts could earn like $250 to the original poster. As far as I understand, these money should be paid by users, not by STEEM itself. The user iamnotback said something about the Facebook's profit from it's users. and this raised some concerns in me. I also did some (again fast) research on Facebook. Here is a graph for reference:

According to this graph, Facebook earns about $3.73 per user on average, on every three months (i.e. ~$15/year). FB alone has about 1.65 billion monthly active users, which means that their revenue is about $24,618Bn/year. Yeah, but it's seems that this math is wrong, because according to several sources, FB's revenue for 2015 is around $18Bn. I only have 2 questions.

1. Why do you think a post on steemit should worth $250?
2. How they will deal with posts containing illegal materials?

My personal opinion is that STEEM is doomed to FAIL.

If someone likes your posts with a new account, it will not even earn you one cent, but when a big account with alot of STEEM power likes your post, it might be even 10,20 or even 50$ for a single like. That is why I think it is a crazy shit forum. If girls post a stupid introduction with a sexy picture they get much likes and earn thousands of dollars with one post, unbelievable.

funny you say that because it was a girl who posted "make up video" and it earned her 11k.

What I try to say is that we are here posting for a half dollar per post and they earn such a big amount just for a nonsence post where the big trusted accounts like them, when I see a post from a girl, with picture ofcourse, they all earned alot of money. Therefor I am not posting there anymore, because it has gone to shit, it will get way worse than this forum.

Someone's Jelly because they don't have tata's! You know what, I am too. Tongue

The only way your post is going to get noticed and upvoted on steemit is if you have met the following criteria:

• You have bought a significant amount of STEEM
• You have invested that STEEM into "STEEMPOWER" and locked it up for 2 years
• The more steempower you own, the more people will see and upvote your posts.

-snip-

i read this on another thread yesterday; thought it'd be informative! the exact mechanics of beyond me at this moment. i assume you will have a detailed answer going through steem whitepaper

Apparently website is down right now but when I checked earlier, some people had hit $2k and some even $11k?

how's that even possible? Even top bloggers don't make that much for one article online

and they had less than 500 upvotes, that comes out around $22/person.

then there are those who are making less than 0.02 cents and had 20 upvotes?

How is that even possible?

If an average user is paying 0.01 cents for something he likes, how can someone hit 11k with 500 upvotes?

It's still money, who pays $22 for one article because it's "helpful?"  Huh
