Multiple factors are in play here.
First, bitcoin is threat to banking and financial establishment.
Tax definately is an issue for government. But ways or regulations can be found for tax compliance. However, many governments just want a simple solution, restricting or banning bitcoin.
I think a lots governments do not like digital currency because they want to impose currency control on borders.

It seems to me that legalizing or banning bitcoin is of no interest for our government. Have never heard from them stating any about bitcoin. It's in Myanmar.
Well in my country they support the bitcoin. The government and banks give support in the digital currencies because they see the benefits of this. But still they gave warning because we know that there are many scammers now. And in my country there's an application in mobile that you can convert the bitcoin and ethereum into my country monry

Encryption currency in China was not accepted by the state, the trading platform has moved overseas, but we can also easily traded currency, because there is no explicit laws and regulations prohibited transactions BTC.
The governments in my country are fine with bitcoin and they are just being careful in getting involved with bitcoin because when there is bitcoin then they are also afraid that they might get into trouble since bitcoin is popularly known as a tool for the people in the black market to transact and send money without getting traced.

Hello! I'm from Vietnam. My government reacted quite fiercely to them whether Bitcoin or other virtual currency was not a legitimate means of payment. There were trade bans on banks. But those who invest in Bitcoin are still very optimistic and believe in Bitcoin.
right now my country still neutral about bitcoin, i dont know the government will banned bitcoin or make bitcoin legal about next moneth or next year, but as i know there are many news about my government about bitcoin, some people said that bitcoin will banned in my country and some people said that bitcoin wouldn't banned in my country, i dont know that news but i think as long we can use bitcoin, use bitcoin wisely

From the last few years our government reaction for bitcoin is positive since there were no reported bitcoin abuses in our country..actually our government approve the use of bitcoin in our country,they only recommend us to regulate the use of it,,but sadly..just last week our national television reported about a couple who use bitcoin in scamming..those scammers get almost millions from different victims,,so now I am afraid if the government here will ban bitcoin..because of those incident..but the thing here is maybe we bitcoiners must be reaponsible enough for our bitcoin..we should avoid and detect scammers before they can hit us.. every government is afraid of losing control of the situation because of this they react as much as possible without panic, but the measures that they are doing this do not show that without panic)
there are several different actions on bitcoin in different countries.
There are some countries that prohibit and are not allowed to be made explicitly.
There are also some countries that do not allow it as a means of payment, but are allowed to be an inventory or in exchange. It is applied in my country Indonesia.

actually the situation in our country is the same as in your country. here is also still gray, here the government has not made legal this virtual currency, they just make an appeal not to use this virtual currency because the risk is too high.
Here in my country, our governments does not give attention to the people who uses bitcoin but in case one of our citizen or people been hacked or scammed then that is the time government will work.
Well, my government banned us to support in any type of cryptocurrency. Government scare that cryptocurrency is one type of new scam or fraud that might harmful for people, and worried that with anonymous feature that bitcoin have, it will hard for the authority to trace and might be wrongly use by bad guy. Thus my government banned cryptocurrency.

Traders and exchanges for the fear of government imposing a ban or restricting them, has resort to black market trading. It is hard to see anyone openly advertising about bitcoins or coming out public as trader, but underground we know dozens of even inferential people involve.
Same thing here in my country, bitcoin is not announced as illegal nor legal but sadly as time goes by due to many fake news widespread and due to many scammers out there using the name of bitcoin to attract victims the reputation of bitcoin here in my country gradually became worst. But I do hope that our government wouldn't take any serious actions on banning bitcoin based on the negative results of this selfishly people.

Indian Government banned cryptocurrency earlier this month and this is something not new. Indian government did what other governments of the world are doing, there are only a few countries where BTC and other cryptocurrencies are legalized.
I hope every country is willing to accept Bitcoin and Altcoin because I think if every thing has two positive and negative sides and it should only govern the cryptocurrency and open it instead.

In the country where I am currently living, they still have no law about bitcoin but it is all over the news and anyone who knows about bitcoin wouldn't like the news here in my country because it is all bad news to look bitcoin bad and to stop people from using it so that they will think negatively about it and refuse to invest in cryptocurrency. They always show in the news that a lot of people are getting scammed by bitcoin which is not right if they truly know what bitcoin is maybe they won't believe anything the media is trying to show us.
In my country, initially the government called on people using bitcoint digital currencies to be cautious, but now the opposite is true that the government declares that digital currency is lawful for moeslim and safe.
