There is a principle I use in participating in bounty campaign. The principle is , I would only participate in the bounty campaign I can purchase from the sales . In this case, I study whatever project I wanna join and trust it up to an extent

When I am looking for a bounty I look for projects, that have a HUGE community behind them. I research the team, the devs, and even the bounty manager. You can also find some pretty decent bounties on bountyhive, but there is still always the possibility of it being a scam coin. You are going to have that issue no matter where you go. The best advice I could give is research, RESEARCH! RESEARCH!!!!

better choose a good bounty manager like having a higher rank or/with high trust. their bounty have a higher possibility of being legit compared to lower rank especially newbie. also read their info about their project all of them and decide if it is good or not.

First you need to find well-known bounty managers, then pay attention to the bounties they make and choose what you are interested in. This is my approach.

Before following the bounty, you should read about the project. See who the team is, read whitepaper and roadmap.

you can choose a bounty the normal way you use an ico, you look out for all the things that made up a good ico, if a project is good for your investment then it is good for bounty, but if you are still confuse about choosing bounty, you can join Usechain bounty, very solid project and good for bounty. you can visit their site to learn more about them http://www.usechain.net/

Different factors can affect what you can get out of bounty at end of ico like;
- how much token they have for bounty
- how much they will sell during their ico
- choose those ico that have low soft cap which will be reachable during ico
- never trust high return claims like some even claim to give you $1k+ worth of their tokens for simple work. You will never get same value when that token will be listed.

Crypto world full of surprise, we don't know what ICO that will successfully and the price are going up to 10x from ICO price. It's so hard to know the criteria for legit bounty. If I know then I just do that and will rich soon  Grin . But, you can minimize potential to get scam and avoid an ICO that is scam.

I usually choose bounty by considering several things, namely: project concept (look for projects with unique concepts or generally attract investor interest), allocation for bounty (looking project with big allocation for bounty), bounty manager (I prefer manager with good discipline, timely updates of stake). that is some of which is my consideration in choosing bounty.

It might not be an easy task chosing bountys. But be sure to look at the management team, a team with good reputation has a high chance of delivering, look at the bounty's social network, how strong is it, and you could look into rate of success of the pre-sale,

In my opinion, you need to look at the uniqueness of the project and the management of the project in which you want to invest or take part in the bounty of the company. If both sides are good, then the project will be successful. Look at my signature!

There is no way to be sure which bounty is good  and which not.
Just choose it like you would do when you join ICO.
Here is one where you can take a look.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3432061.0  http://www.usechain.net/  http://www.usechain.net/

I used to select my bounties based on the team on the website of the campaign, but it seems this doenst work effectively these days because well identified people can still run away with investors money. But now, i think choosing a bounty based on the manager quite works. I prefer bounties managed by well known bounty managers to those managed by members of the team.
