Give of your self. Give to friends. Give to strangers. Give your expertise, your time, your advice, your money, your heart. Generosity breeds relationships.
First of all one must trust in his or herself. When you trust in yourself, you are able to do what you like very well and that is what can make one successful in anything he or she does. When you work hard and become successful in what you do, the society recognises you as very important.
We just have to be confident enough to do things that we think are right. Just do the right thing and everything good will fall into places.

I think in this scenario we need to understand what that word importance mean first.

but in the general sense to be important of society is simply the life of emulation, exemplary life, standard of expectation,a life to look up to.

I am in same position too and i too restrained myself completely from society and now i am running my life on my own. Wait and watch for chances

In my opinion a person must dare to be noticed. It doesn't matter what he/she will do for society. This person must believe in his/her ideas and be brave enough to communicate them to wide audience. People follow confident people. If one has followers, one becomes a leader. A leader is always important to his/her followers.
Just maintain your own gravity and character and try to acheive your goal. Evryone stands by a successful person
The need to be important motivates us to do good, to add value, to help others, to provide service, to grow and develop, to learn, to love others, and so on. Embrace the need to be important by doing more meaningful things and spending less focus on attention seeking behaviors with others.
Start to follow simple rules in your community practice it and make it a habit. Remember always that there's no one above the rule of law. Be an example in own small institution, your family.

I think there is no criterion for importance. The people whom we consider important do not consider themselves important. Only others perceive them to be important. If importance is a matter of perception, you have to first perceive yourself important.

It depends on your determination of importance. If you mean money, than your place in business circle will make you important and influential. But if you mean another type of importance, so a person should do socially useful things
I think confidence is essential for becoming important person in society. People listen to confidence. People like to be told what to do. They are searching for trusted sources. While you can never be a trusted source to everyone, meaning lots of folks will think you are wrong from time to time, you cannot influence anyone if you don't start with an opinion first. Say something and believe it. Say something new and people will listen even more.
We should not focus to become an important person to the society but to give importance to people who are there for us. The society will just forget after what you have done but not the things that you have done for your loved ones.

It is true but it is not necessary to stress out our importance to other people. The fact that we know who and what we are is already enough. Who cares about people’s opinion of us, will they give us bread to eat if we will be important in their eyes or not? As long as i am living right, doing no harm to anyone and doing my own business with out affecting anybody, i dont care if i be considered important or not.

To become an important person in society, I believe that I must first be the most productive, in terms of influence and work related fields. That way I could set an example for the other members of society, thus contributing more productiveness and cause for every act that is done by every member, and it's easy to do this because of social media.
The things i can contribute in the society is that not do bad things.and choose to do right.share my knowledge to everyone.help other people that in needs.and to be a good model to the youth.respect others mostly the person that older than me.

Agree with your opinion, many people want to get famous or the other word being important person in society. For me is not like that, I will do what can make the society feel helpful, loving, sharing each other. Like helping people in out society, togetherness with the society can have direct effect to society. Low down our selves, gathering, helping what the society needs. Someday you will know how important is you in your society.
To become an important person in society, you must be a leader. You will help the orphans. You will build schools for special children. For example, putin is an important person in the country. He is a leader of Russia.
