By having power and money this will obviously make your an important person but I think something overlooked is to provide value. You may not be the most important person in the world as in famous but the people who knew you will have been better off for knowing you, that is importance to me.

Only when we consider ourselves attractive and accept ourselves as we are, we respect our dreams, desires, ideas, character traits, we attract others to ourselves. I think there is no criterion for importance. The people whom we consider important do not consider themselves important. Only others perceive them to be important. If importance is a matter of perception, you have to first perceive yourself important.

Yeah, fake it till you make it!
And then waste it! Though I don't really think that "important" people actually went for it. It may be more like their importance came about as a nice bonus or side effect for being valuable in society. The lesson to take home is that to be important you should be useful to the community you live in, and then respect will flow in quite naturally and well deserved.
I can become an important member in society by leading instead of following; having a post however small it maybe, in order to use my given authority to it things in order for the good of the community.
Just be yourself. Don't try to copy others to for the attention of people because by doing so you might not get the actual joy of life!
Go to school and get a college degree, masters or PHD. Marry and have children. Get into a good job that is reputable and do something for your society. You will be regarded in high esteem.

I am at a loss for words. Your claims which you have mentioned above are completely represent my ideas. If someone have money, It does not matter whether he has a good deeds or not, he or she are respected and They are the most precious people on our society.
Humans have adversary to encounter so far as we exist in this World.For an individual to be someone great is not an easy task.i feel nervous whenever am to heard such an issue because is not easy for a person to be great .For me to be an important in the society is to get myself well defined ,being self confident and self determination and getting myself a greater esteem .this would guide me to develop much in me of my intellectual and attitude towards myself in the vicinity.
It's more about networking. If you have a lot of references you'll be considered important anyway - there will always be people coming to you for some kind of help. Knowing people is a power. It also means you'll become influential and get able to push your initiatives. And the kind of the initiatives will characterize you as a person, not whether you're important or not.

As long as you're making a positive contribution in society, that makes you important. You don't need to let people know it, the results of what you're doing will eventually get their attention and you will earn respect. Don't force to make yourself relevant in the eyes of othees. Start with yourself.
