I really think that putting away the amount of money allotted for savings is the most effective way for a person to be able to saved money. Setting aside first the savings before budgeting and buying anything else will ensure that you will have savings but playing gambling can affect this. Imagine this, you are gambling and the amount you allotted for it was all used up and you still want to play. @diegz is right that it will be a distraction to you since it will make you to get some from the saved money and when some people started doing it, it is possible that they will do the same thing again.

It will be the best to quit on gambling if you truly want to save money and just do gambling again after saving up so many money and after you have fulfil all your goals in life.

If you really want to save money then don't gamble because the more you gamble the lesser money you save. Like when you're enjoying or having fun you didn't know that you're losing money and in the end you'll realize that you've empty pocket. And of course even you see that you're winning you still tempted to gamble more instead of calling it a day. And that's the sad part tho.

This a good advice but not practical. I suggest you to start decreasing the amount gradually and if you are fine substituting it with free online games, then go for it. In case, you try to leave this all of sudden, your mind may not accept the decision and it will cause uneasiness.

If you want to save money then you need to quit gambling there is no way to save money while gambling because if you want to participate in games then you need to bet the amount first.
So keep an separate amount of money for gambling from your earnings or completely quit from gambling.

I chuckled when I read your comments mate. Its seems that you are not a gambler. Yes, indeed you can do that, and believed me I do. I always put back the money I won in gambling. But the problem lies when you go back at gambling again and lose.

What are you doing to do then? Withdraw the money again and play and hope that you are going to recover what you have lost and then some. However, there's no assurance that you can do it. So for me, there's no way that you can save money from gambling because its going to cyclical.
