Don't try to impress anyone, let the contents of your post be meaningful and unambiguous.
Abide to forum rules, ask questions if you must and make constructive arguments.
Don't post out of context and if you must create a topic for people to learn from, make sure you prepare a format that drifts from simple to complex and keep your ideas original. It's best that way.
Good luck.

Hey there, welcome to Bitcointalk, and I hope you would enjoy your stay here and contribute to what you can.

One of the most important things for me is to report a post. So based on the rules that have been posted here and you read each of them, remember them and start applying them. If there's a post that doesn't seem to be right, use the "Report to Moderator" button immediately and state your findings there.

That's one way you could contribute to the forum. And a reminder for a newbie like you, it's best to check if there's already a topic in here that's already been posted. If it's outdated, possibly update it with a new topic and post the new one that's basing on the old one and if there is a similar topic. It's quite recent, it's better not to create a new topic since it's going to be a somewhat "spam" because of the repetition.

Do your best here and hope to see you contribute a lot!

Welcome to this forum. Yes, it's really a good start when the OP wants o to contribute to this forum.

So, Since you have knowledge about trading. You should create some post in Trading discussion to teach the other people about trading. Also, you may start some guidelines for newbies about trading cryptocurrency. But don't make any copy/paste job without a reference link. Also take care of search function of this forum before making any topic.  Though many suggestions already posted so I will no repeat it. better to revise the rules of this forum first. Good Luck.

Wow! That's a great initiative from a newbie — thinking and asking on how to contribute in this forum rather than asking on how to earn. Smiley

Since you're new, you might want to read pinned posts first since they're the ones that's must be read upon joining the community. And since you have already knowledge on some things, you can use that to contribute in this forum. It might be in a form of response to a query, or an informative thread. Things like that. Your choice. Anyway, welcome to the forum.

Your account is relatively new. Everyone here already told you what to do. Since you have mentioned you have knowledge on trading, I assume its more like technical analysis skills and knowledge. What you need here is the basic steps on learning forum ways like how to post, use some function and add some degree of beautification on your post. But that would be used later on.

Im a trader too and I am hoping to see your cotnributions on the trading discussion session soon.

I believe every important links have been shared already for you to use. A big task for you if you are satisfy for all the response here, locked the thread to avoid spam and repetitive answers. Welcome again!

Most of the users here will not read the forum rules and regulations this is why I am directing you to the most complain that has being made here and are as follows that you can contribute for not allowing yourself for this to happen.

1. Ban account - for copy and pasting (plagiarism)
2. Shit posting
3. scammers are everywhere so be cautious
4. hacker are also innovative using phishing site popping ads or browser extentions
5. sites should be bookmark or else high chance you can enter a wrong site well probably for phishing important details on your crypto wallet
6. bounty hunting concept of fast and easy earning/rewards is not true.
7. posting or starting a thread must be in the right section or anywhere that it could be appropriate
8. respect begets respect. (i do not respect some users here they are really bad ass LOL)
9. Expect users with different attitude for users are coming from different places around the world.
10. do not fall for scam traps like good offers to which you will can believe.
11. Never trust your money to anyone here except yourself.
12. Do not invest in ICO projects most of it are scam or will just failed but there are few that are still worth it just it so hard to find them here.
13. Be aware of the users who will do PM first like in telegram, BCT accounts and other social media accounts talking about cryptocurrency opportunity.
14. Invest in bitcoin and other strong altcoins. This is the best way to start learning about cryptocurrency. Few dollars will do.
15. Invest money where you can afford to lose and do not put your investment in a single wallet.

There could be more but let the other users introduces it to you.

Firstly, you need to know well what the forum rules by reading all pinned messages in some sections. Especially this one: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657. Obey that rules can be one of your contributions, mate.

Then, if you have knowledge about trading, you can make a topic or thread that can motivate others, also share valuable experiences or tips in trading.  But before you make that such thread, make sure that you don't make the same thread or topic, so use the "search feature" to find if your topic is really new one. Besides that, you also can reply to some threads/topics that may ask help about trading or crypto in general. You can answer what they need on those threads to help them. That's actually really helpful if you want to try, buddy. Good luck!!  Smiley

There is lot of thread and so much to read and adhere to, I will take time to go through each thread
In general, if you need to ask the question "How do I contribute to the forum", it's not the best of signs for your future. I'll be keeping a close watch on you.

If you do great though - as we all do hope - I'll be glad to leave you some Merits soon.

Welcome and have fun!

If your basic is as a trader, then you already know what you have to do in this forum. You can make several contributions to the Trading Discussion thread, there you can provide a variety of constructive opinions and you can also create your own thread explaining technical analysis tutorials, price discussion, analysis and other trading sciences.

And the most important thing is not to do SPAM. make sure your contribution is relevant to what you discuss.

Did you read some of the "merit guides" that tell you to be helpful member and contribute to this forum? Because this isn't actually the best approach. Contributing is only good if it's done naturally - when you are passionate about something and want to share your expert knowledge not because you want merit, but because you actually want it. If you feel like you have to make helpful posts just to earn merit, your posts will likely not be as good as you'd think, and they will likely be repeating what other people said.

So, avoid making topics that were already made, and avoid talking about things you don't know really well. Just participate in existing threads, provide your thoughts on the subject.

If you an actual trader then it is better to share your trading experience and also your analysis on a separate thread so it can be useful for the other traders. But make a post when you are about to say something worthy because saying the reluctant things about trading in general is not actually a contribution.

Good day everyone, I just joined this forum and I'm looking forward on how to make my contribution into this big forum.
Just like some posters have suggested, start from reading the forum rules, I would not put a link anymore as it has been posted above.

I have knowledge about trading, cryptocurrency in general. Where do I start from?
It's easy to explore the forum, just search trading, bitcoin, and altcoins.. you can find lots of topics where you might interested.
It would be interesting if you can also share your knowledge because this forum loves sharing, " sharing is caring", right?

Welcome to the forum. Besides reading forum rules you should read this thread, on Bitcointalk. Index thread. Lots of most useful thread has been linked there, so it would be easier what you are looking for. As a newbie, likely lots of questions would raise in your mind, so I will prefer to use the forum Search button before creating a new thread.

Regarding your contribution, share your best knowledge & experience with the community. Keep your role in the forum by reporting spam and avoid spamming by yourself. Help other users when they have something to know or need some help. Don't try to perform any crime and help by reporting abusers. Hope you know what is right & wrong.

Wishing a happy journey with this community.

1. Don't spam
2. Report spam
3. Give your opinions and simply have constructive conversations with people.

At the very least, that's pretty much it. You really don't need to do anything special. If you want to go beyond that though, some people post statistics, some create tools, some create guides/tutorials, you name it. Which one of these should you do? It's completely up to you. Tongue

Quote
a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.
This is what a forum meant. Source- Google search
So, if you have anything to learn, ask community according to the boards and if you think there's something you should share eith the community, go ahead. This is what a forum contribution means. Nothing specific is there. We are here to exchange opinion, views. We are here to share our thoughts on crypto, learn crypto. That's what the contribution for a forum mean.

Welcome! Read and read though the threads, it will widen your knowledge about btc, believe me there are still things about btc that you will learn here, you won't even expect it. You will learn a lot and it will never stop. If you are thinking about how will you contribute, don't worry, if you already had the knowledge, you can answer questions and provide quality posts to the threads. It will come naturally. Enjoy reading and learning, and if there's a topic you can really answer, do it, as long as it is really informative. The best contribution here is sharing your knowledge.

Read forum rules thoroughly and get yourself familiar with them. Take your time, don't force it, forum is big and with huge amount of quality material so it will take you quite some time to dicover all the little secrets. Also, when in doubt don't hesitate to ask question!
