I don't like merit. Nobody gives them out. I can write good posts or threads and I never receive any merit. Everyone should at least start out with some to begin with rather than to beg for merit in my opinion

That's exactly my same position. You can post guides, record videos, answer questions with links to solutions and nobody really gives a damn about giving merit. And no, it is not because of low quality I don't get any, because as I said I have posted various times solution to problems and I cannot see how that may not qualify as high quality posts.

Suppose I gave you some merits. Now that you have it, you will have a certain period to give it to others. As a user I'm giving it to you and similarly as a user or member of this community you give that to others. How much merits you earn would be counted, not how much you own. There's no point on saving your merits.

I see 3 merits. Asking questions has become ridiculous.

You contribute positive and valuable comments, those are the hardest things to find on the forum.

If you post some good quality potential and constructive post in this forum and if any member of this forum chose your post so he/ she can give merit you. One person can give you one merit. And a person can give 30 merits a month. So do the good quality and constructive post and get the merit.  Cool

OP Can I ask a question why do you want to get merits? What's your purpose in getting a merit for yourself? Because I think you already know the answer to your question.

You get merit points based on the quality of your content, consider it like the Facebook like system, you should post quality content and other members will give you merit points if they find any value in your content. You are not supposed to ask/buy/beg for merits because such behavior is highly demoted as it is considered as manipulation with the system. The best way I know is to focus on sharing your knowledge in the best possible way and other members will definitely reward you with merit points if they find it valuable.
