ICO monitor type of web sites are very usefull and recommended by me strongly. They also shows you whether an ICO is a scam or legit. You can just make a quick search on Google to find some web sites similat to the ones I explained.

And i need to remember ou to analise the project wich you will put your money, the most of the ico die after some time.
you can get help from this forum, specially fro altcoin devices, where all the ANN Thread of ICO are discussed n detail. i think you can also get help from yobit, as they most ly send mail about new ICO starting and investing in ICO which is most profitable, as they mostly give special offers to the new investors who are investing money in such ICOs.
yes that is very right if a person want to know about the ICO of a project he can visit the ANN Thread of ICO where he can get complete information about the project where he want to invest their assets.

Go to the marketplace here at bitcointalk and check or see the ANN Threads, you can see a lot of future ICO's posting signature campaigns. Or you can try to google them, it'll be easier too.
Don't forget to learn the roadmap. Is the roadmap applicable in real life of the coin. There are many ICOs that just offer coins not projects. Offering coins so that the coin are listed in the market then the developers make big money from the crowdsale. After that, the developers leave the coin and no projects after that to mantain the price of the coin. Finally the coin will be delisted by exchangers. And the investors will lost all the money.

i just add on.
announcement thread is the first ICO will came and u can check on google ICO listing.

some of them will put the days left of that ICO and more details too.

Only looking at the ICO listing is not enough as the list will not show you about the activity of the developers and no one can find that what is in the ICO and how much is it active for its success. If you will rely on the altcoin announcement section of this forum then there you will find their official threads and try to invest in those ICO which have a serious aim for the future.

Several excellent websites out there tracking and explaining ICO's, with web links and articles to check out:

ICO Rating: http://icorating.com/
Smith and Crown: https://www.smithandcrown.com/smith-crown-the-exciting-future/
ICO Bazaar: https://icobazaar.com/

You can also go to Google Alerts and set up your own alerts.  Google scans the web for any content containing certain keywords or keyphrases and then sends you emails with links to any sites or articles containing those words or phrases.  I have alerts set up for "ICO", "Initial Coin Offering", "ITO", "Initial Token Offering", "Crypotcurrency Crowdfunding" and a couple more and I get several alerts every day.  https://www.google.com/alerts

Awesome.

You can use these sites to find info about ongoing ICOs but you should be careful about scams. Many ICO are popping out almost daily and only few of them have future potential, others are just crap. Many ICO have big promises without any real life working prototype. I suggest you to have a deep research on dev team behind any project, their real life application, future potential, working sample they have and escrow team & terms they have for their ICO before investing in them.
Thank you Amacar2 for this link you posted here not for only op I do benefits from this post also. Since I have been using bitcointalk forum altcoins announcement section. Buy coin at ICO level, give you advantages over those you buy at exchangers.

Go through the white paper and the entire vision of the project. Meanwhile know more about the funding and the development team behind the project. This is the way to predict the ICO, else just a little on the starting of crowdsale and get profited if lucky same as things happening with gambling based on luck.

I just use bitcointalk forums. You can even get in touch with the development team and ask them questions about their project.

I usually just use http://www.icocountdown.com/. Bitcointalk forums are also a good way to find more information. you should also look in depth into the development team and look at their past projects as well.

www.icorating.com and www.icoalert.com are preparing investment reports, where you can get extra insights for some projects. Although not so many of them.

yes that is right when most of the ICOs stated they open their ANN THREAD in services section or in altcoin section, so from there you can get good information about these ICOs, to me i think investment in ICOs is also a very good source of making money, most of the experienced people mostly invest their money in ICOs.

1-Where should I look to find future ICOs? Is there a forum, a blog or a trading platform for this?
https://santiment-slack.herokuapp.com/
I'm following the slack group, and the group is coming up with good conversation about the upcoming ICOs.

It provides a lot of knowledge for you. I believe it.

2-What are the characteristics I should looked to maximize my chance of picking some profitable ones?
The profitable ones for you will never give a non-sense innovation for the project.

3-Are there any popular and successful traders in this field that I should follow to get useful insights?
No, The promising project will always be having mass supporters.
Like what was happened with Gnosis and Aragon.
Status will be the next one.
4-What is the best way to buy early when I find some that I like?
Buy on their crowdsale and get your bonus.
