You’ve got lots of merit how did you get it?

The 1000 that I got was just from being a Legendary member, like the 250 that you got. The 226 additional was just people being nice to me.  Grin

People are nice to people on here? xD

Nice signature LOL Cheesy
but WTF is it?

This rather long paragraph consists of exactly 4,000 characters. Spaces, punctuation marks and carriage returns do count. With regard to those spaces, note that if you typically type a double-space at the end of a sentence as I do before beginning a new sentence in the same paragraph, the second space will be deleted automatically, i.e., all but the first space will be ignored. The total number of words in this paragraph is 733 and the average word length is 4.4 characters. The average number of words per sentence is 22. At the end of this paragraph is simply the alphabet starting with the letter A and ending with the letter H, in bold, to make it come out to exactly 4,000 characters and so you'll know when to stop scrolling down in order to see how big 4,000 character is if you want to add a message to the guestbook. Whew. This paragraph begins to repeat at this point, so you can stop reading now if you want to, which I would suggest, or you can choose to read it all again. OP, you can get merits here by making quality posts. You can also go through the merits stats page and see the frequntly merited posts. Then you will get an idea of what tyoe of posts are being liked and merited.

I'm pretty sure OP already knows that. But as expected, the reason why OP isn't gaining merits is.. *drum roll please*

OP's posts suck. What a surprise.

Tip no.1 to get merit: use default font size .

Welcome.

Very true, reading the post I could hardly focus on what he was asking in this post. All my attention was on the font size only.

Just note this the way life is not fair, is the way you might not get the pay as you feel!! Just keep on doing what you do am sure at some point someone will see your stuff and decide to reward you!! I don't think it can be a forceful request because it is a personal decision and anyone can decide how to spend the merit!!

Also, note what is quality to another might not just be to another, so hope your post get in front of one interested in the topic you write about

Let's see how the end of 2019 will have been

When you don’t depend on your signature campaign to make a living your account level is irrelevant. Spammer detected
Oh! Coming from you. I can't believe it Undecided.  I look into your post history but I can't find the "innumerable high quality posts" you are pertaining about. Are you even aware that you are guilty on what you are accusing to others — that you are also a spammer? Nevermind.

Anyway, much better if you will be just patient instead of complaing because if you are really deserving for a merit then it will come naturally. Good luck.

OP has some good point also. This merit is for those really good users and for the average users that were not able to post good qualities thinking that their best is not the best of others will relatively will not going to receive merits. We have different knowledge and capabilities that probably may not apply in this forum. Just take example from a fish. Do the fish climb trees? No, but they are good in swimming. So others may be good in some areas but not here. Sad merits are not for them. LOL
Merit isn't about having an outstanding knowledge in a particular subject. In your opinion, those who are not too good at bitcoin technical aspect or blockchain, will not get merit.
It's not like that, in fact. I barely have a lot of knowledge on bitcoin. I can only know how to send or receive, lol. But I got 100 merits till now.

I have been a memeber here for many years. And have made innumerable high quality posts educating and helping my fellow bitcointalk members but I have yet to ever be noticed and recognised for my efforts. I only noticed the merit system TODAY and I can’t believe I don’t have any!
OP you have to make your best of the best shots and get merits. YOu have been here in the section and this is where you can have the chance to get merit. LOL

Should thos thread be titled, hi I bought this account how do I rank up?
Yeah, I guess it's more like a bought account than any other thing explainable. How could he have not known about the Merit system institutionalized about a year now? I wonder how he even got the few merits he has to start with. As for his post history, there isn't anything remarkable there.

<…>Was a smart move to finish with the spam but a pain in the ass for the newbies. No one say it would be easy to grow in this forum.
It really should not be that much of an issue for Newbies to get a couple of merits is a short time span, if they set their mind to it (and have a decent amount of active grey matter). For those who want to rank-up, the bottleneck created by the Merit System resides in the mid-to-high ranks, where getting merit at a fairly even rate to a 1 per day ratio is extremely complicated (see re: Isn't this merit thing getting more monopolistic politics?).

Agree, but when i say that words i was thinking about the Activity, Merits are an important fact but to get 1000 activity mean 1000 days, that's close to 3 years to grow an account from newbie to legend. Get merits is much easier than getting Activity. In one day we can get those 1,000 merits, but there is no way to speed up the activity.

You post "test" three times on January 1 before posting this thread. It seems like you bought this account that time knowing the last post was made last December 15. Its intriguing you have many merits with that kind of post. Now i know why i didnt get any merit. I guess i should copy your comments of wisdom.

Good to see no one die with my post  Tongue

By the way, i'm agreed with you, merits aren't something to force, they come with the good quality posts. Begging them will not help, but sadly a lot of users want to grow their accounts but they just can't get merits. Was a smart move to finish with the spam but a pain in the ass for the newbies. No one say it would be easy to grow in this forum.
