I think that in order to know if a bounty campaign is good is to check first the campaign manager. If the manager is a reliable one, like yahoo62278, then you can expect it to payout well. Second, check the whitepapers. So that you know the roadmap, developments, the development team, and other information that you can get from there. And you can now decide if it is worth the effort.

You should make a research in the internet about the project. it is the same when you do some research before investing in ico. I think you have to understand the project first, what do they do and can they do it. If you have done that, you will know this is a good bounty or not.
The first you should be check their technology , then read their white paper and check team , check the bounty campaign manager... Finally see how much and is it worth it or not . But it also depends on your luck, there are many very good projects, on the exchange and are traded with large amounts, but they also do not paid for you.
Before you join the bounty program make a research about the company or team. Also there are some bounty program that do not update immediately, it takes 2 or more weeks for them to update, i think they are not a good bounty program.

If in my opinion, it depends on the prize budget. Some are percentage-based and some are token-based. And also you have to participate in good to get valuable coins. You can directly contact the gift manager about the prize. If it looks solid and fair you can participate in it.

I guess you can surely identify easily when the certain bounty program you are reading is good when it is being managed by hero or legendary members who have a high trust rating not with those who have a red tag.
