There are different definitions to been rich, for me I just want to be financially free and have a good life, there is nothing that comes close to been happy and having peace of mind in this world, not even money can give you this

For me to be rich is when you can't calculate how much wealth you have or when you can't know who your friends are or who are your real enemies?  You don't see the price when you buy anything but you will ask when it will reach my house.  The definition of rich sometimes becomes relative.  Because everyone has their own definition.

How would you define what is to be "rich"? Is it about having enough for living or is there something else that you would be looking to accomplish to be rich?
Is it 1 million USD? Is it 1000 bitcoin? what are your thoughts?

It is hard to define rich by a fixed number in my opinion because there are such huge differences in cost of living around the world. For example, if you own an apartment in London you are probably already a millionaire. But you could have 0 money in your bank account and no crypto portfolio. So on paper you look rich but reality you are nkg since everything is in one property.

It is very hard to find a True definition of Rich but A person making enough money to meet needs of his/her family and saving some out to it to live a comfortable retired life could be rich in my view. The broader definition of being rich doesn't mean to own huge wealth only but also to contribute for the welfare of society in every way you can is more important.

Having a Million USD is really something but I guess being rich depends on the state of mind or situation of one person. Some people believes that as long as they have the ability to go through a day or a week or even a month with their needed necessities, they are already rich. Being rich is something that a lot of people wants to achieve because it is something they believe that will make their life easier but for me, when you are content to the situation you are living into and you have the ability to get through a day without stepping on others, you have a rich and good lifestyle.

Most people have to work their entire lives to pay checking bills.

They cannot but work - otherwise they will die of hunger.

In my opinion, wealth is an opportunity not to work.  There is such a concept - a rentier.  This is when a person lives on interest from capital (income from renting real estate, interest from deposit accounts in banks, etc.).

The form of wealth is irrelevant.  It can be real estate, stocks, bonds, gold, bitcoins.  What matters is the net monthly capital gains.  The higher it is, the richer the person.

How would you define what is to be "rich"?

Let me spin an old quote around a bit:
Having money in your account isn't going to define you being rich.
When you find yourself having peace of mind that you are not in danger whether your sons will murder you because they are interested in your inheritance or your wife is going to poison you because the money you have is more loved by her than you. That means you are richer than having millions in your wallet.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...I've heard this a hundred million times but only from poor people.
It's extraordinary how poor people know how bad it is to be rich and they choose to leave their life in poverty because they are so scared of the risks that come with being rich. I'm wondering what risks are those, the perspective of being poor again?
And drop that shit with the family killing each other for money, you have people killing their families for a house or a piece of land or a car, a teenager bludging his grandma for pizza money, it happens ten times more when poverty is involved as people are far more desperate.

When I read some of the posts about how rich means to be greedy how you are not fulfilled with being rich and all that I can see something just as bad as greed.
Envy! Lots of it, so much it has flooded the entire thread.

It depends from person to person.
For some a good health and a loving family already makes them rich.
Others may need billions and more, or as said "limitless", to fulfill their ego.

For me? The loving family, good health and just enough money for no longer having to work for it and still have basically the same spending like now it would be already a dream life, i.e. rich.

To me being rich is having enough wealth to not have to work a day job for the rest of my life,
to be able to afford top health insurance for myself and my family
to own a foreign property or possibly a number of properties
to be able to pay for unforseen problems with a car or property
to be able to buy whatever I need without having to budget somewhere else
to be able to pay for education and set my children up comfortably in life
and to be able to leave some wealth to my grandkids after a pass away.

Thee isnt a magic number to being rich, we all will want different things in life,
i dont want a yacht, a supercar or live in a mansion.

Many people think of being rich only in terms of money but I also think of being rich in terms of time, what is the point of having hundreds of millions of dollars on your bank account if you are doing a job that you hate and you are only enjoying a few weeks of vacation? To me being rich is having enough money to cover all your expenses for the rest of your life and having the time to enjoy it, those that have those two factors are the ones that are truly rich to me.

Having a lambo, lots of expensive real estate,a hot girlfriend and X million dollars in the bank. Grin
This is the pop-culture perception of being rich,I guess. Grin
I'm not that greedy,so having enough money to pay my bills and for groceries and having savings for a rainy day seems enough to me,but this is just me.
Having a really hot girlfriend is an important part of being rich.Hot women usually like rich men...
You know the saying-"Everything men do in life, they do it to impress a woman." Grin

im answering this based on my own knowledge and not if what its its true defitnion based on google . now id say that we all have our own definition of being rich  . other think they are rich already because they have lots of friends  , they have a million dollar worth of money or any stuffs  , and so on .

having enough for living can also varry from person to person because some are not contented with an x amount of cash and they think this wasnt enough to live a long lasting life  and by the way , the 1k btc is already worth 46,279,900 usd today and that was more than a 1million usd . if im going to choose between them of course ill go for btc even not exactly 1k btc

Rich is subjective. There are some people that we see that are living a good life but they don't consider themselves rich. Once you reach a certain point or let's say your first million, you would want to have more and realize that it is not enough yet. What I can define rich is people who are born privileged. They can buy anything they want without worries, they have unlimited amount of wealth that their parents do not work but their money earns money. I don't know if someone like this exist, even people like Bill Gates still go to office to manage their company.

I would define someone as rich when they have enough resources to not work so they can survive for another day. The question is a pretty vague one because one can answer based on spiritual, financial, social and physical aspect. But assuming that it will be an overall, I would say that a person is rich when they do not find the need to get petty amounts because they know that they can make more than ever.

One who has the physical as well as the financial ability to meet his needs is rich. Physical means I'm talking about the health and being strong. In terms of financial ability I'm describing about the food, shelter and clothing. In this manner I'm one among the rich person of the world.

Rich definition is really relative, I consider someone who has a house, a car, a motorcycle, all the basic needs available and still have excess money in their bank while at the same time having passive income as rich. Maybe for people who used to live in a rich neighbourhood might only consider someone who has more than 10 million dollars rich. Therefore there's no absolute answer as to the definiton of rich, it's you that define what rich means.

The concept is relative, but in any case it refers to someone who has an abundance of resources, above the average of their peers. It is not the same as being a millionaire. All millionaires are rich, but not all rich people have to be millionaires. According to the dictionary rich is

"having a lot of money or valuable possessions."

We are not going to define it better.

You do see how much the term "rich" is associated often with the terms below.
  • Greed
  • Beneficial
  • Selfish

I believe it would be better to ask this. "What/Where are you Rich?"

Mostly, if the term Rich is associated with money already, just from the first listed above, it's almost always seen as greedy. Many people want more and more in life, and that's not what rich is. It's what defines the person. It's someone who can afford anything, and one thing associated with that is listed above, and you cannot remove that unless you are doing something different for society. That would be a better thing.

Are you monetary rich? Love rich? Something related to that.

All of the posters above me are summarizing what being monetary rich could happen to you, and that's the reality. It does something like that to you as a person.
