I encouraged my younger brother to use bitcoins and of course he doesn't know what I was talking about then, so I told him to download the wallet that I have been using and I have sent him a dollar worth of bitcoin. I told him to observe the fiat value of his bitcoin everyday; in that way he would be able to appreciate and kinetically learn how bitcoin works. Later on he bought bitcoins and he figured out other ways to earn it on his own.

I don't like the idea of spoon feeding by the way.

Einstein once said "if you can't explain it simply you don't understand it well enough" that's why if you think that the newcomers won't understand it at first from you, you shouldn't explain it at all just give them some videos on youtube or point to them some keywords to google.
But if you're comfortable with bitcoin just give it a shot and maybe they'll understand.

So I've been involved in Bitcoin and crypto for about 5 months now and just about everyone I tell about it being friends and family most have never heard of it or the few that have they have no understanding of it so I was just curious into how others explain it all to total newcomers is their a webpage or video you may show for an easy understanding to explain it all ? Whenever I give my explanation it seems to go way over their head  Roll Eyes Cheers

I think the wise way to explain bitcoin to a new person who really don't know with bitcoin, we should explained to them step by step and we must use a simple explanation. Because if we explain complete to them at once time, they will just be confused and even ignore our explanation.

I will give them the basic information about bitcoin as to who invented it and what it is. And in the rest, I want to free myself from the explanation. I just wanted them to watch the video and read the bitcoin articles.

I will say "Bitcoin is like a fiat money that we normally used, but the difference is, it only exist in the Web". That's a single sentence but I am confident that the newcomer will easily comprehend and able to formulate new ideas in his/her mind. I know that's not enough to jusytify the meaning of btc so I advice him to do his reasearch and ask someone familiar with bitcoins to understand more. Smiley

When people are asking me how do I making money on the internet, I explain them bitcoin as currency that exist only on the internet and has no physical form. Also I add that this currency can be easy exchanged on our national currency. And that's it. People understand, but don't hurry to join. I say that everything is in English and nobody of people around me do not speak it god enough for commenting. But when I explain that there are many national projects where you can earn bitcoin they count this as something hard and give up in the most beginning.

When someone new to Bitcoin asks you about it, you should tell them just that Bitcoin is like virtual money. Or virtual gold. You can use it to buy things online and real life just like fiat, only it is better. Do not give too much explanation or they will not understand it.
Those things that you said is enough for them to get curious and that is right that we don't need to give them too much explanation because it will make them feel bored in listening about bitcoin and if they get curious with simple explanation then that is the right time to continue explanation up to the full details of bitcoin.

When I'm explaining Bitcoin to a person that heard it the first time, I always tell him to do research about it. The meaning of Bitcoin, the origin and its purpose then I'll tell him to ask me if ever there are questions that he don't understands. I also tell him to avoid investment sites for the meantime because he doesn't fully understand it and there are lots of scam sites.
Why overwhelm the person with loads of information that's very hard to understand? If he's going to do research about it himself he will very likely give up when he comes over all the articles about Bitcoin splitting, private and public keys, hashing algorithms etc. It would be easier to teach him the simple parts of bitcoin. Only the essential stuff, and if he wants to learn more, then go ahead, link him some fairly easy to read stuff about bitcoin as it can become very technical sometimes.

Just explain to them that it is digital money and they are like gold that is also mined but through computer not mined physically. It has been existing for almost a decade and you can use it to purchase online as long as the seller accepts bitcoin. To be able to explain properly, show them your wallet and how you transact with it. If there is a store in your place that accepts bitcoin, you can go that place and maybe buy something using bitcoin for them to know that it is possible to use it to buy in physical stores.
I will leave off the first part which is related to mining because that can cause many questions. I will simply tell the noob about its present price and related future predictions, how it is earned, some of its benefits and how it is attracting masses over the globe. Giving a demo is also a good idea.

We can't explain everything. We can explain to beginners just the basics. Then they themselves will learn what they are interested in. We can only answer specific questions. The trouble is that most Novikov I think that bitcoin is their way to easy money. Once they find out what is wrong they lose all interest in bitcoin.

i just tell to them that it is a digital currency or digital money but the thing is the value of your money here can multiply because the value of the bitcoin increases but it depends on the market. Plus you can work here and earn bitcoin and also there are many ways here in order to earn bitcoin and i also told them that it's cool here because you can earn here without any hard work you just need enough knowledge.
Rather I want to ask them how they want me to tell. Whether they want to make money so I can tell them accordingly. Whether they want to enquire about just learning, I will tell them about that only. It only needs to give them a basic hint of what they exactly want. If we tell them all the things they might confuse at first, and it is so irritating.

#SWGT PRE-SALE IS LIVE
I have just learned about bitcoin for about 2 months from now. And it is kind of puzzling for me even though I am into computers. Its not that easy to understand and it really really takes me time to halfly (not fully) understand it in order to cope up with some discussions about it. As for the moment, I'm still in research and reading about this to understand fully about it.

So, yesterday I explained this to my wife so that she may also be interested (she likes computers to, ex.fb), but its was waaay more difficult for her to understand it. So what I did is gave her youtube videos about bitcoin and every article about it to read and tell her to just ask me if there something she doesn't understand. I didn't force her and told her that she may watch it or read it only when she's free. I just hope this would turn out well for her.

It is really tough to make one understand the whole concept in a go, its better to introduce the concept and show video's related to crypto currency visual demonstration of the subjects gives them clear idea  than telling every thing and I will ask them to join forums to get a good picture of the whole concept.

In my opinion this is also quite an explanation, and in addition it might be better to give a tutorial on the performance of this forum which greatly contributes to bitcoin development.

Bitcoin to newcomers is very hard to explain and I consider myself a newbie as my mentor is patiently taking some time to explain me everything from Bitcoin itself to earning like Signature Campaigns and trading and so, we had constantly discussions over internet. But anyway it's not that hard for me because google could explain everything through visual demonstrations.

The first thing I tell them is the idea of cryptocurrency what it is and how it works then when they were able to understand it I introduce bitcoin it's easy to teach about bitcoin when they have the knowledge with crypto currencies. I also encourage them to read some topic here in forum so they will know the history of bitcoin and other knowledge they need.

It might seem very tasking and confusing at first but with experience and carefully answering the inquisitive questions you should be able to explain very well to the newbie and clear doubts about it.

I think most of it depends on whether people like bitcoin, whether or not they care about it.For me to explain to someone, I will explain the concept in the simplest way. And to convince them, I will give the results that I get when I work.
